This is also the procedure for the 2005 Corolla. Mine has 281,000 miles and still going strong. I bought it new. Been without a car note for over seven years. Very dependable.
This one has 147K.
I just traded one off that had 181K for a new Camry.

Same - two decades with our '97.
Got tired of dumping money into my Silverado (even though I love it when the tranny or rear end aren't broke). One day when it broke down again, instead of towing it to the shop, I towed her home and parked her. Told the wife, "that's it, we're going 100% Toyota", went and bought a NINETY ('90) SR-% with every factory option - power everything, and I've been drive that old perfect girl ever since.

Watched a rather vague rendition of this procedure for a 2011 Toyota, Pretty much the same as my 2012 Avalon which had the "Maintenance" light on. Not understandable without a lot of trial or error frustration. But yours worked great. Easily understandable and applicable for a 6 year newer Avalon. Simple and effective. Thanks.
