This is actually a good reborn/revenge-plot costume production with good actors and an interesting storyline centered around FL and the death of her family. Sadly it is kind of ruined by repeated scenes and subbing that makes absolutely no sense most of the time. I did like this clever/adamant FL and calm/dedicated ML. Beware the ending that isn’t for everyone.
SYNOPSIS - SPOILER ALERT!!!
In ancient times, FL, the daughter of the Chen family watches her family being framed for embezzlement and eventually killed. The man behind solving the case is the Marquis (ML), the man FL loves and is about to marry. Not wanting to marry the killer of her family, she commits suicide in front of him.
But instead of dying, 5 years later FL is reborn into another woman’s body on the day of her wedding. When she receives the memories of the body’s original owner, she is surprised to see that she wanted to marry a scholar but her family wanted her to marry ML as a concubine. So she ended up committing suicide, making it possible for FL’s soul to enter. Wanting to avenge her family, she decides to go through with the marriage to ML.
Upon entering the mansion, she is confronted by his new wife (2FL) he is also marrying that day. Their altercation leads for FL to be ordered to be tied up and placed in the bridal chamber in order to watch the newlyweds first night together. But what should have been a humiliation of FL turns on its head when he arrives drunk and seems to recognize FL as the only woman he ever loved - despite her being in another woman’s body. So, she quickly takes her chance to kill him with the knife she brought, but he overwhelms her and threatens her with the life of her “new” family. In the following days she is targeted by 2FL and entangled by this ML she wants to kill.
Well, this has a bittersweet (sad) ending.
