This is definitely one of the best cover versions of all time. They certainly made it their own. Even the writer, Paul Simon, commented that he did this song justice and probably added a few more dollars to his bank account.
For context, I believe that you should listen to the original version, probably the studio version, to see how Disturbed changed it.
Mind blowing is appropriate when describing this performance. I can only imagine how the people who attended this particular show were captivated beyond words. Definitely could hear a pin drop. Mind blowing for sure.

This male vocal is up there with my fav male vocal of all time Joe Cocker at Woodstock 1969 With A Little Help From My Friends
David(lead singer) had a cold at the time which made it more nasally which just enhanced his voice. He has such amazing vocals
To keep the record straight -- not a cold, BUT THE FLU, he almost didn't make it, piano player told him the only way it would happen, is if he sat down!! His temperature was in the 100's!!!! Also, Conan himself, later said that this was the only performance EVER on his show that every single employee stopped their duties and came to witness this performance --- truly amazing....
He's sitting on a stool because he couldn't perform standing. He was that sick.
@donleonhart274 In the 100's? That can kill you! I had a temperature of 105 one time. I thought I was gonna die. Sweating beads perfusev and a migraine! Muscle aches too! I was bed ridden for almost a week.

Rumor has it Mr. Draiman was not feeling well that night (head cold, or allergy, or some such) and wasn't sure he should perform. He made the right choice.
He was recovering from flu and still had temperature. That’s why he performed sitting.
He wasn't recovering from the Flu, he was still sick with the flu, stuffed up, congested and had a fever of 102°.. David is a BEAST and his voice is pure gold 🔥❤️🔥❤️

Simon & Garfunkel did original, but their studio version of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' is epic. Their 'Scarborough Fair' is also classic, as well as Sounds of Silence.

I will always prefer the original by Simon and Garfunkel, but I absolutely love this version. Arguably one of the best covers ever done. To think David Draiman was suffering from the flu during this live performance is mind boggling. He was furious the sound crew used auto tune for a brief second when they thought he needed their assistance.

This is a good version, but to get the best experience see the original version in black and white, not on this tv show. in this one he has cold/flu and it'd not as good :)

Draiman makes this song sound like the big boy version that match the lyrics instead of the original S&G bubble gum original. Kinda wierd how that happens being interpreted even better by a cover....least imo.
