Also, sparkling water has its own flavor because when water is carbonated the Co2 reacts with the water to make Carbonic Acid which also lowers the PH of the water so sparkling water itself is mildly acidic.

I can't drink tap water / water that's not sparkling. But here in Germany many people grow up drinking only "mineral water" / "Sprudel" / "sparkling water" (many names for it), which is standard bottle water from some spring in the mountains or so and then enriched with carbonic acid -> bubbles (mostly available in Medium and Classic, which reglement the amount of the bubbles). Sparkling water with flavor is available by several companies, too. For example Vilsa... they have lemonades and classic German Apfelschorle (sparkling water with applejuice) and Sportschorle (high amount of sparkling water with apple + grapefruit or similar stuff). People who love LaCroix would probably be in heaven in Germany... you get a lot of similar stuff and more for down to 20% of the price.

@@MikeInOregon you do realise that "distilled water" that has no residue after boiling also has no beneficial minerals nor other substances?

    • @Tan3l6

Instead of meal prep, I do more of a base prep and cook a ton of plain rice/pasta/some form of carbs that'll last me a week. I also prep my proteins and vegetables separately. With the assortment of condiments or spices I have on hand, I can mix up a different arrangement everyday and have my variety without thinking too hard or spending too much time switching up the meal each time. I can have more protein for the second meal, or more vegetables the next night with a different sauce, or just eat the base with a lot of spices on the final night. Every meal following prep day is a new way for me to arrange my platter without it getting too monotone the next time!

I just see it as water and fancy water, but my preference is ice cold tap water.

I live off of my sodastream tv static angery water, and I get my refills from a company out of WI that autoships them to me when I ship the empties back. I save SO MUCH MONEY now that I don't buy pop and don't buy canned angery water, and I am able to have lemon/lime as I want. maybe $45/month for bevvies in my house?

I'm curious for the people who just straight up dislike the taste of seltzer --- do y'all sip at your drinks or gulp them?
I've found among people i've asked about seltzers that typically sippers dislike seltzer since it lingers on the tongue a little too long and it really does taste a little weird, while most enjoyers seem to gulp at it and don't get that weird carbonic acid flavor.

24:48 Bubly is owned by Pepsi. Aha is owned by Coca-Cola. And Aha pisses me off, because every time I find a flavor from them that I like, they discontinue it. The only Bubly flavor I drink anymore is Lime.

Waterloo has really unique flavors though and a lot of variety, I like them. I’m an east coast millennial and Polar is the best. Not a gen x uncle haha

Perrier and San Pellegrino have really small and aggressive bubbles due to the CO2 being naturally dissolved into the water, and they are my least favorite mineral waters. Nitro bubbles are small and don’t have the same aggressive mouth feel, but I don’t know why…

Never been a sparkling water fan. I keep giving it a try but the amount of carbonation is overwhelming, the taste is always awful. The recent one I tried was Bubly (?sp) ,yuck...

As someone who can’t touch diet soda-aspartame gives me migraines like nothing else-I adore flavored water. That said, I’m at risk of drinking too much carbonation with it. It’ll mess up your vitamin d levels.
