You can see Harry's a nice, good man because you've captured that. He's also strong, stable and steady and has seen stormy times. I'm sure he would have been very pleased with it.

My mother just passed away. Now you inspired me to paint her. She was from the Netherlands and lived the most of her life in Canada raising 5 children. She too was a devout Christian and she showed it in everything that she did.

TRULY HELPFUL! I am painting the portrait of my mentor of 51 years. He passed in 2012, and really, I’ve been so close to the loss for the time since that only now am I able to realize how important it is for me to memorialize him before I am too old (I’m only 72). He was a great man to many people and my portrait will be donated to the foundation that he left to benefit secondary education for secondary students, high schools, and especially to help gifted and well-motivated students to get the excellent support they deserve. I was a teen when my mentor reached out to me, and your painting techniques are exactly what I’ve been trying to articulate as what I need to do my mentor’s portrait justice. Thanks Andrew! -Glenn

the way u teach and verbalize your techniques... let the audience' mind fill in the details.. save the white/tonal? for last.. paint the eyes at the end coz it finally unveils the character of the person and will make the whole process worth it.. and finally u reminded me of the reason why we paint--- to tell a story. this is something i always forget especially when im caught into the rush of proving myself to others or pleasing the audience or just plain painting because i want to see if i can do it. u r one of the best art teachers iv known so far
