Yes many things were not shown, for example there was girja tikoo who was gangraped and cut in half while she was alive but it's understandable why it wasn't shown many people wouldn't be able to watch such gruesome scenes and the issue of censor board also comes in play

Being jain u should also read how many jains were killed by muslims during partition, also when Jainism was at peak, the knowledge was flourishing in India. Hindus Buddhists Jain used to debate in temples logically, but those temples were particularly targeted and all those intellectuals were killed.

Then came the Mughals - descendants of the Mongol Empire
- Before Babur, some rulers and tribals of muslim origin started with their loots in India.
- Babur was descendent of Genghis Khan (who was not a muslim FYI)
- After Humayun went down, all rulers slowly started forceful conversion of people to Islam and breaking Hindu temples and architecture. You won't find it in books, but in the monuments. Books were written by kings per their need.
- Jahangir and Aurangzeb were the worst at this.
- Babri Masjid was built on a destroyed Hindu temple by Babur.. so he was the first one to start this shit.
- *So most if not all Muslims are converts, their forefathers worshipped in temples*.

Read Quran - The correct version of it, and use your brain. Nowhere does it says following other religion is a crime. It means peace, and look at muslims following peace across the globe. They're changing the meaning of the book according to their need and wants. Allah never says convert people to Islam forcefully.

Worst part was I have been telling the same stories for years to my friends and they laughed at me and blaming indian army for all of this.. Now I am relieved.. I have seen my KP friends living in Mutthi camp in jammu and heard stories of their parents too.. Now I am relieved... Thank you Vivek Agnihotri.

The real relief would be when those ignorant friends would say "What happened with the kashmiri pandits was wrong and we should boycott all those people who for so many years tried to suppress this issue (and are still trying to) and villainised our army instead ! The real relief would be the day when Kashmiri pandits would be confident in residing in kashmir again!

Director Vivek Agnihotri has also said in one of his interviews that he has deliberately tone down the barbarism because of many reasons. One of the reasons he said is that if he has shown the absolute brutality on screen, apart from Kashmiri Hindus and people who have read about it, other people would not have believed that kind of barbarism has actually happened with Kashmiri Pandits and they would bash this film as propaganda film. Another reason was the certification problem and he has to cut many scenes from the movie. So, yes, uncle was correct that what has happened to Kashmiri Pandits was worse than what was shown in the movie.

My relatives were killed and raped as well. This movie has not only shown the facts, it has brought out the truth out to the entire world which earlier was not told.

That is correct. And it is not possible to cover every single incident. Which is why the film makers had to do a mash up. For example in the last scene the cutting of Sharda Pandit in the saw mill actually happened elsewhere, not Nadimarg.

I had read little about this in “Freedom at Midnight” by Dominique Lapiere and…..The book had mentioned there were almost equal number of Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims(30-30-40). One thing often comes to my mind is what happened to other Hindus and Sikhs?
More than 90 percent of the muslims are converted. The others left and negligible stays there .

Even though my ancestors were Kashmiris, they lived in Kashmir till the early 1900s, and then moved to Punjab due to rising tensions. I feel like this movie was much needed for the Kashmiri Pandit community who were unjustly and severely affected and impacted due to tensions and radical people. As a Muslim with Kashmiri roots, I teared up at the end, where your parents were singing in Kashmiri and told their experiences. I'm just always saddened when I hear of the atrocities that occured in Kashmir. The beautiful land of beautiful people. The culture which I couldn't be a part of, that culture lives in and through them.

On one side an NRI like Meru and on the other side someone like Dhruv Rathee. Both studied and live abroad but while one have his soul away to liberandos for mere few bucks the other has shown that never forget your roots, your culture and country. Uncle's face could justify the dialogue. Felt bad seeing Uncle and Aunt like this. They revisited the same traumatic event in the film. I could see in Uncle's eyes the insurmountable pain he has been silently carrying all these years in his heart. My father, precisely parents, is also of his age.
