Does woodwork, rides a bike, drinks coffee, possibly plays guitar, has read hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. This guy could be auditioning to be my best drinking buddy. Nice work as usual.
Ooh! With joy!:)
Hey, what am I! Chopped liver?!? (JK…. I definitely play guitar.)
don't forget about the incense 🎉🎉
@@eiichyeiifmc5572 drat!! I’m out, then… 😂
@@eiichyeiifmc5572 And the tea. When this dude make tea it's just as methodical as when he works wood.
The shavings from the jack plane are hypnotizing!
I love the fact that you use the “old fashioned” way of woodworking 😁 no machines 😁 all hand crafted 😁
Your videos have been an inspiration to me as a beginner woodworker. I am not very good yet, but you have motivated me to practice joinery a few times a week for the last couple of months. I hope to be as good as you one day!
Hi Yurii , im glad to see classic woodworking, its was beautiful. Thank you. God bless you and all of us, a war it the worst thing humanity has come up with..
I’m so sorry you are living through this awful war in your country. May your fine wooden works continue to sustain you in every way.
Halfway through the video, I am thinking what is he making. Some fancy box and drawer. And then its a bike rack. OMG, absolutely awesome.
Amazing work as always. And that soundtrack - OMG it’s just heavenly! Gotta check out more from them.
I'm always in awe of your work from the design up the video editing. This one's really making me feel motivated, maybe it's time I also gave my bicycle a worthy storage rack.
Absolutely amazing always love watching your videos just so amazing to watch you work. Great job
Sorry I can't help your channel more, I love it, I know that my humble contribution doesn't mean you have to advertise. I loved when you made the glue. Thank you for existing.
Thank you for helping! I really appreciate the help! Especially at the beginning it was very difficult, but now it’s easier and I hope it stays that way in the future. Many thanks to you.
Thanks I need to build one for my self. I really appreciate your passion . It motivates me and makes me feel good about my trade and the satisfaction of true craftsman ship. You and your family stay safe. God bless you
I watch a ton of woodworking, bushcraft, and crafting videos. These are always the best. The methodical and loving way the you treat both the project and the wood is amazing. Please, never stop.
Stunning piece, Yurii! Really well done!!! 😃

Sweet project :)
I really preferred the through tenon/dovetail pin look :)
Your dove tail technique is flawless. Btw classic is the best music choice for that kind of videos.
a plaster round the finger , a sign of a true craftsman!
Exceptional workmanship, well done, I look forward to your next project

This video is a treasure. The magic of wood. The wonderful sound of the tools.
You made my day and I thank you! 👍
Just what I've been looking for, this will probably be my next hand-made project! Lovely bike, btw. Just getting into gravel riding myself. Thanks for sharing!
Juste magnifique.
As always : wonderful ++++++++
Your works are fantastic!
The choice of music and t-shirt is brilliant!
37:50 was that an explosion and a "blyat"? Please stay safe! Slava Ukraine and thank you for another wonderful video.

Beautiful work! The bicycle stand and the video production are both excellent. Slava Ukraini.
You mastered the number 4 😊
Amazing work as always 👍👍
Nice work, I've been cutting dovetails over 45yrs now so I might have some info you can use. Do yourself and your workpiece a favor and secure it to the bench when you chop out. I like to sit when I chop and have a rope that has a foot board on the floor- the other end goes up through the bench and then down again through another hole and is knotted. I can slide my work under the rope and put my foot on the board which holds it DOWN. Then all my chops are accurate and efficient- holding work in your lap is what a first year apprentice would do. Last tip- never do a dry fit on dovetails- when they are chopped out- glue and drive them home. Best of luck- you have good foundations and all these little tricks come along with time.
Also lower your work in the vice so your push saw strokes don't move the work. I have a big squared block that I clamp to bench behind the work (if I must stand) that adds mass and stability. That was a real game changer back when I used push saws (switched to Japanese pull saws almost 30 yrs ago though)
Thanks for the advice! I've only been working with hand tools for a few years and learned from CZcams videos. Previously, for more than 20 years, I worked in carpentry only with machines...
@@gr_woodworking I am INCREDIBLY impressed. I am 3rd generation carpenter/ furnituremaker, and also served a shortened apprenticeship. One of the things that is hardest to teach (impart actually) is proportion, your design is stunning because it's got awesome proportions. Good design also brings out the best in your hand work and makes the job a joy. I do not subscribe to many woodworking channels but did on yours so I can enjoy the progression.
This is such good advice. I'm learning so much :)
Another good reason to clamp your work down when chopping joinery is so the bits of wood you are removing don’t end up under your work piece and then denting it when you make subsequent chops. I like the rope idea noted above. That’s quick and hands-free to reset.
Muy bien hecho si señor, buen trabajo. Te felicito 👏👏😉
Your content is so inspiring. Hope you are well.

Functional artwork! Wish i had the skills to craft something this nice ❤
Training, training, training. The longer you wait, the longer it'll take you to get the skill
I want that book!
Magnifique 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏🖐🖐🖐🖐🖐🖐

Inspiring
Very awesome.......
Cordialement, tg.
Sooo Do illuminate me with the mysteries of this curious affair was that bang ? Great hanger . I honestly thought that would not hold up on the wall. The bang startled me too 😅
Watching your video as the other channels I normally watch are too frightening right now.
I choose to focus on creativity and creating as opposed to any opposite; I choose to watch you create and am enjoying the grace which you add to the act through your shots and editing.
I have relatively recently obtained the same router plane as you - your related shots really make the tool look good!
Also, you’re good with that dovetail saw!
(Veritas as well - lol. They ought to send you a cheque for presenting their tools in such a nice way!
Actually, if you haven’t already done so, why not let them know what you do - tell them how many people are watching your videos (LOTS, and so it should be!).
I mean, imagine how many viewers of the Samurai Carpenter will have gone out and ordered the same saws, chisels, stones, etc.
Anyway, thank you - I really appreciated your video!
Peace be with you, my brother.
Peace be with all.
I love this project!. Trzymaj się Ukraino!
impressive.
Well, count me impressed the way you were shooting endgrain with a #4. Slowly, at that too.
Compliment!!
I saw the beard and the hat and thought, "Oh no. Ginger millennial". But you did some beautiful work there...
One day, when Ukraine has won, I would very much like to visit you and take a woodworking (and video editing) class from you!
Up to that day I'll keep supporting Ukraine, and visiting our family in Lviv and supporting the military as I can. Spent about 7 moenths now in Urkaine after Feb 24th 2022, heard my share of air alarms but the closest I was (so far) to an explosion was in Hoenderloo, The Netherlands for military drills.
Be strong & Slava Ukraini!
Great work!
Beautiful piece of furniture, excellent craft and pitch perfect background music matching the workshop but that Festool drill is a faux-pas. A hand brace drill next time please!
do you ever make big mistakes and a how you deal with them video.
Another beautiful piece, Yuri. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I sorta prefer just the sound of the tools and the wood without the music but it's still good either way. Those clifton planes are amazing.... what japanese plane do you use for the small edge work? Love the channel very much. Thank you.
Where on earth did you get those dividers? They are beautiful.
Nice work, too, of course. You packed a ton of joinery into two boards.
👋👍
Top Arbeit, welche Höhe hat Deine Werkbank?
Oder sitzt Du davor?
is that a lathe from router ? Looks creative :)
Do you have any advice for beginner tools for your kind of work? More specifically what plane size, saw/chisel types etc. Help would be appreciated 😁. Love your videos you’re the reason why I want to start woodworking myself, keep up the amazing work!
Paul Sellers is a fantastic resource for anyone who wants to learn handtool woodworking- he has a huge CZcams channel. That's where I got started and I always go back to him. Love this channel too, his work is so good and the videos so soothing.
His Clifton 4 1/2 is not a good beginner hand plane unless you’re a beginner with money to spare. If that’s the case then go for it. It’s an outstanding plane. Chisels, just get a basic set of 4 with 1”, 3/4”, 1/2” and 1/4” sizes. The Veritas dovetail saw he uses is good and it’s not that expensive compared to more boutique choices and you can always get a Suizan Dozuki to cut dovetails. I’d recommend a Ryoba for starters. A Ryoba, a decent no. 5 hand plane with two irons (one for smoothing and another one to remove material fast) and a couple of chisels can take you far.
Yes, yes, the guys are giving the right advice - Paul Sellers, I also watch Rob Cosman. In general, you don’t need anything special - a record plane or Stanley 5 1/2, a few chisels and a Japanese ryoba saw. What is required are water stones for sharpening.
Yes! Good sharpening stones are great but you can also start with sand paper and a piece of glass. Then you can get a decent set of waterstones or diamond stones.
Thanks for the help everyone 🙏. I’ll check out those channels and see what I can find 😁
Do you start with your wood thicknessed or do you do that with hand plans as well?
Great job 👏
What tool do you use to turn the button of the drawer ?
