Boy, it's a real shame Cory had to settle for [checks notes] Joe Dart on bass.
and Sonny T!
and me somewhere in the future, I hope
Wow I did a real life double take on your user name, cool to see you here. Do you play an instrument Mr. Eagle?
"joe dart on the joe dart bass"
Good to see you here, you have good taste in music! Not surprising since you have good taste in suits! "Indochino..."
So nice of Coryâs parents to name him after this interview
Like the song
Lolol
come on man come on man
Fantastic story around Cory Wong!! I learned a lot from this interview!!
Tomo, please do some videos on Cory â€
I saw you at a Cory Wong show in Boston in January 2019! Happened to recognize you from CZcams but didn't really think of it till after the show! Small đ keep jammin
Tomo can you give me lessons
Tomo and LegalEagle in the house??? Damn Cory!
@@denimjacket8976 yes. Itâs called Guitar Wisdom. Real lessons. Fantastic stuff
Vulfpeck is the perfect example of something greater than the sum of its parts.
And its parts are really good...
Descartes has a bone to pick with ya
couldn't agree more... on the other hand, this very interview also highlighted the great importance of Jack in it... and how much his drive supercharged vulfpeck even more so :)
Keith levene. Jah wobble pil
CORY IS EVERYWHERE! And I'm not complaining.
Cory's highschool band was the first and only time that there were too many bassists and not enough guitarists
I bumped into Cory at MSP airport - believe it or not, while listening to Vulfpeck. As a hobbyist musician and a 'strat guy', I'm a big fan of his tone. He had the famous blue strat along with him and was headed out to LAX to do some recording work. He's such a down to earth nice person - super cool to say hello and chat for a quick minute.
this is a crossover I didn't expect but loved it!!!
11:24 the bunkers jam in minneapolis, sunday monday night, cory wong on guitar, its so funky and its low volume, cmon, yah
This is all I know!

Every musician giving an interview: it just kinda happened
Me trying to become a full time musician: aha aha
So true hahaha. Iâll sub to you for this comment alone
@@prpleskies hahaha thank you so much đ„° I subscribed back đđŒ
@John Verne I suppose it's a process :)
You need luck, talent and hard work. All of them hard to find
@@prpleskies I also suscribed, just for YOUR comment
THE MSG show is a possession for all time. SUCH a great show.
Wait, this dude releases about 3 albums a year, plays so many shows, practices his instruments for 3 hours daily AND HAS KIDS???? I've seen productivity gurus before but Cory is on another level.
I listen to the Vulv MSG live concert a few times a month. Epic performance by Cory and the entire band...
Cory's interactions with Joe on stage in the "Vulfpeck Live At Madison Square Garden" concert were priceless. During the song "Your Daddy's Got A Tesla" Joe is really tearin Cory up with some of his bass lines and driving him to play even harder. What a great Concert and Performance by all. Especially Jack's Mother!
Things I didn't know I needed but now I do: Mary interviewing Cory! YEESSSSHHH!
Cory and you, Mary, are fantastic exemplars!!! So glad your paths are crossing!!
What a pro .Cory even does podcasts in his band uniform!đ
Excellent interview. You both were natural and seem very connected. Very honest and open interview.
Chewsday Talks! How I missed it. Lol
I discovered Vulfpeck yesterday and instantly fell in love (as a bassist), all of them are so incredibly talented. The timing of this is perfect, thanks Mary
check out there set in Belgium if you haven't seen it
@@Michael-cj9uo will do, thanks man!
This just happened to me yesterday XD
What Cory describes (being in your 20's and wondering "What am i going to do with my live?") is exactly the situation i'm in right now. glad to hear more people have experienced this and are doing fine now. it gives a little bit more hope, as my self-esteem and mental overall is slowly breaking.
focus on the things you love and the rest will fall into place.
spot on. Do what you love. Success is not about money. Itâs about happiness and having purpose.
But like seriously, this is inspiring. Thank you, Mary, for doing this, and thanks to Cory for telling his experience. Big fan, you guys are such an example đ
The down-to-earth, playful and at the same time street-wise attitude of Cory is really a joy to see/hear. He really is a musician to my heart! Lovely interview, I like how Mary let's Cory just tell his stories!
Wow!! Itâs so great that you interviewed Cory!! I LOVE his playing style and everything about his music... such an inspiration!! đ„
Great interview. Loved the question about the lead up to the Garden gig, and hearing about how much that meant to all the band members and their families. I could also relate to the task driven, as opposed to keeping a schedule mode of working. But most of all I love the passion Cory has for his endeavors... I think, from watching your content, this something you share in common..
Terrific interview! Thanks for sharing with us! I know I would've loved to be at MSG for Vulfpeck, but I saw them at Tipitina's in New Orleans nearly a year before... It was incredible. I was about 12 feet away from the stage. Unforgettable experience.
Love the daily uploads Mary! Don't burn out im not endorsing prolonging the experiment
Went for a few pints with Cory and his band in Dublin a few years back after their gig in the Lower Deck. The guys were genuinely surprised that Irish folks were so into them and Vulfpeck. Sound lads , real nice guys and great conversations.
So much talent on your show. I love Primus, they are so great live you forget it was only three dudes. Such a great band, such amazing performers.
So good to hear these two amazingly creative souls... such an amazing story told by Cory. Love the FidgetSpinner story, I remember that analogy in the interview with The Captain from Anderton's. Great interview, Mary!
Cory and FGL? That's amazazing.
As a fan who has been following Vulfpeck for years, the MSG show was truly MAGICAL. I was in the pit and everybody there was genuinely proud of the band. Amazing experience!
Great interview and awesome story! Now I must add Cory's CZcams channel to my ever growing list of assist to listen to! Awesome! đđžđ€đŠ
Tuesday Talks gives us some incredible content, thanks so much Mary
Cory's great and that was a really good interview. Can't wait for the show!
A man after my own heart! Thanks so much Mary and Cory
Cool to see you both chatting đ
Seriously.. How brilliant is this guy??? Lovin every word.. Also i learnt a lot!
The vulfpeck escalation story it's always so moving it makes me drop a tear every time i hear about it
Cory is one of my top 5 guitarists, but for sure a one of a kind personality!! Awesome video Mary, keep up the awesome stuff!!
Well, i never played such a enourmous show, but what I catched in Coreys story, and what i remember after the show... There is always before and after, but the actual show is just beyond that. Just the feelings, just the joy, just the escitement... And this os worth it!
Really interesting chat. Not often I try to press 'like' again repeatedly at separate moments in the video but this was one of them...
How brilliant getting Cory Wong on your show. Really enjoyable.
Mary thanks for the interview.
Havenât even started this yet but love Cory Wong! Heâs hilarious and insanely talented
I was smiling the entire way through the video! Great Tuesday Talk!
Excellent interview Mary.
You really got Cory talking without loads of input from yourself (that's in a good wayđ) or him selling or promoing something.
Don't know much about Cory but seems like a nice guy, I'm off to do some investigation (after today's practice).
Keep up the great work.
Wow what a way to start off a season. Great choice
Loved the question about how he got into playing the guitar...then lead to his influences. Great interview. Thank you. See you tomorrow.
Two of my favourite musicians. Thank you for being you.
great interview. great questions, great rapport, but obviously most importantly great guest :)
Unexpected pleasant surprise!!
Loved this!
So cool to see a fellow Salisbury moonraker doing so well. If your ever home Mary pop in for a cuppa. Love your vids x
Hey Cory. Great interview. If i break my arm it's a deal.
Cory take note, this comment comes from the actual Jamiroquai guitarist!
Mary, can we maybe set up a Patreon to buy Rob Harris some skis or a motorcycle or someting?
@@doczooc no skis or motorbike. Maybe a new amp or something :)
@@RobHarrisGuitar That might only break your arm if it is an Ampeg fridge đ
Rob, seriously, how about a Jamiroquai/Vulfpeck collab? I would love to see that! đ
my two favorite artists!!!!!!
The vulfpeck madison square garden gig is insane and cory smashed it
Gosh Mary I just love your interviews. My 2021 goal is to be a moderately good guitar player to be on your show :D
Can you please make audio books. Your speaking voice is iconic and timeless

Awesome interview!
Why is her voice so calming??
I've been thinking about purchasing a bass guitar. I just love the Strat and Les Paul so much but my interest in bass is growing and I notice Mary also has one in the background
Mary, your enthused but sarcastic and a little silly active listening is so awesome.
I feel like Cory is rising to the stars right now, and i'm so fucking happy. He is my biggest inspiration
this is part of the CZcams Guitarristic-Funky-universe! and I LOVE IT!
Cory is my favourite guitarist of this era (post-2000s)
Two of my favorites!
Excellent interview.
Cory and the Wongnotes is unlike anything Iâve seen before. Such an inventive musician and entertainer all around.
Never been so early. Happy Tuesday talks!!
Thank you. Good food for thought
WoW!!! I Love Following the "Breadcrumb Trail" of Artist Interactions to Discover New Artists and New Music!!! First it was Chris Botti...which lead to Dave Koz...which then lead to Cory Wong...and then lead to @Mary Spender !!! đđđ»

awesome interview
Great interview! Also, I like the outro credits song...one of yours?
Absolute LEGEND!!!
this is such a cool interview, both you and cory rock! love this series
Wow! So cool!
OMG Cory, great choice for an interview!
Hey it would be nice if you made a video on writing lyrics. Also your approach on writing in general (like do you wait for inspiration or do you write everyday). Thanks!
This is interesting, I've been listening to a lot of Cory Wong lately đ
Funny, I went into Biology as a backup to music. Now I teach Biology and Computer Science but I still play music. Wonder if he needs a drummer? đ Saw Vulfpeck in Dublin, Ireland - amazing! We Iove them here. đ¶ Great interview, just lets him talk. đ
Finally, another Chewsday Talks! Welcome back :D
Thank you.
Cory seems a very nice person!
Coffee: check, cookies: check, Maryâs daily video: check...
Great insights into a life of a musician nowadays đ
I enjoyed this so much!
Canât subscribe for a second time, but I would if I could. xD
Woooo!
I'm late to this party, but when Cory was describing Vulfpeck as "cartoon characters" with their distinct personalities and personas (around 15:50) ... it struck me that as the Monkees were to the 1960s, so Vulfpeck is to the 2010s+. At least, there are _some_ parallels! IMO. YMMV.
His fiery passion for Bass, for groove, for funk. Damn
When are you gonna collab with the Lock Picking Lawyer? thatÂŽd be amazing!
My favourite Musician!!!
Cory is a fantastic human being
Cory is so freaking awesome đ€©
YEEESSS CORY!
Bingo! RHCP and Primus is of course how Flattus began too! Hooray and cheers Mr. Wong!
I love Mary! She letâs the interviewee talk! :)
Insane that Jack just said âbook it.â I really think that man is a visionary and maybe a genius.
