Thanks for watching! Do you guys welcome new competition in the home internet space? Let me know your thoughts!
I welcome almost ANYTHING that would get the ISP prices to go down.
More competition is good competition
I didn't see anything about 5g?
This testing is not enough, I’d happy if you run at least 4 devices streaming at 4K.
500% welcome it
Here's the thing, this has Comcast pissing its broadband pants. This means Walmart, with its partner, Straight Talk, will soon be offering a home internet service. Once that happens, all of the ISPs will have to lower their prices or lose market share to Walmart. Walmart has NO plans on being the world's largest ISP, they only want to give people yet another reason to use another Walmart product. And for those who don't know, Walmart was the corporation that forced all of the large cell phone provides to give customers Unlimited Data plans. When Walmart offered Unlimited Data Plans, everyone else gave up and said they couldn't compete with that. So they had to match the offer.
Thank you for the info on WM. I’m a loyal supporter of WM, though I am not loyal to any other business.
BTW, how did they lie in 1776?
Economics go brrrrr
Thaought t mobile brought back unlimited data from plans before the others
pretty sure it was T-Mobile that blew mobile plans out of the water when they introduced their "Un-carrier" plan
@@LadyChaos1992 They weren't the first, but when Straight Talk/Walmart started offering their unlimited data plans that's when every Cell Phone service provider started offering unlimited data without data caps.
I live in a area which T-Mobile claimed I had too low of a signal in my area to have one of their routers. Even with only two bars of signal out here in the mountains I get almost 200mpbs consistently. It literally has been the solution to all my problems! Verizon had weird throttling problems, AT&T was way over priced, and west wireless was too slow. The T-Mobile solution definitely is a win in my book.
sounds like you have an external antenna attached to get those speeds and very close to a tower.
Ion know who payed you to get on here and cap like this but they had to be paying alot
@@itz-dc-6244 literally no one. I looked for months and couldn’t find anything. Legit Tmobile was the only one that I tried that worked and still to this day three months since I posted that I still get around 200mpbs. I didn’t get paid lol I wish I did.
@@Dec4ption I have the exact same box in this video and I don’t get over 50mphs. On top of that it goes out like every 30minutes. I can hardly even watch a CZcams video without it buffering every 2 seconds. Literally the worst internet I’ve seen
@@itz-dc-6244 guess it just depends on your area. Won’t work for Everyone you know. But I mean that’s why you get a two week trial with it. At least where I’m from you can take it back in the first two weeks no strings attached. It’s why I even tried this thing.
You should have hardwired the laptop to see the max potential.
I feel like most people don't hardwire their router.
@@japzone but not most people, I'm just saying man and I'm a gamer myself.
Totally agree with ya! Should have hard-wired into the router. I'll definitely do that on my next review!
Most people don't, that's probably true, but if the goal is to test the Internet connectivity itself, going wireless from the gateway as well adds an unnecessary additional factor. That said it sounded like it wasn't a bad experience anyway, so it all worked out :)
@@Asuma492 The review says "T-Mobile Home Internet: Fast enough for gaming?"... Not "T-Mobile Home Internet: Fast enough for most people?"
$60 for consistently under 100mbps is actually expensive. This should be priced closer to $30 a month.
Centurylink is $60 per month for 5 Mbps down. I hate to tell you but the rest of the world don't live in your bubble
@@Bryan-Hensley obviously ur case is an outlier. Most of Centurylink services are closer to $45-$60 for 100mbps
Depends where you are I get 150-200+
Isn't 5g supposed to be 400-1000 Mbps? Only 100 Mbps for $55-60 seems like a rip off. Since spectrum offers 200mbps speeds for $49
Getting about 300 down out here, and others I talked to say about the same. I think this product is YMMV, some people are gonna have better results than others due to location.
This is actually good if you live alone and you're just starting out. 25-100Mbps is good enough for light work-from-home, online gaming and video streaming.

This is definitely a decent alternative for those who can't get wired internet in their home. My problem with that is T-mobile's signal is crap in my area and hit or miss in my last few homes so it seems the only time you get the best signal is in areas where you can get better internet.
Is this using the same speeds/networks as the mifi 5G? Just wondering which one to buy
@@MrWhiteQT that is not what wired internet means. Wired internet refers to how the internet signal is brought to your house.

@@Major-Joker Good luck streaming anything with T-Mobile.
Fiber is still preferred for single digit latency. But for casual streamers and cord cutters this is a very viable option.
I live in rural South Louisiana. The only option I have is satellite and as a gamer, that's a no for me. Once T-Mobile Home Internet became available here, I jumped on board and I'm glad I did. I do not have 5G in my area yet, but it's still great. Remember, T-Mobile Home Internet is for people who live in rural areas that cannot get fiber internet.
Whether t mobile's internet is worth it, the more completion the better. Like they said in the video, it's a bargaining chip
I’ve had it for a couple months and I haven’t had a problem but then again I only use it for my smart tv Netflix, CZcams etc…and for my laptop! I’ve never used it for online gaming so not sure how it would work! But considering that the cheapest home internet is about $75 I think it’s a good price
Just signed up, I'm getting 400 down, way better than the 200 I was getting with cable. The speed definitely depends on your area and how congested it is. I have excellent signal, but live in a sparsely populated area, so it's kinda perfect for getting superfast speeds.
It's a great option for those with limited options, but it's definitely not for online gamers- especially FPS gamers. While speeds seem to be just good enough, latency is WAY too high. That's a deal-breaker with first-person shooters.
I'm gonna get as backup once its available in my area Hugo rural Oklahoma 🤗my ISP bravado Wireless so slow I have issues

@@ziggxter4634 why can you only game through a vpn?
I disagree it’s good for online gaming but remember to get a good internet connection will depend on your location. I have read where some people are a very good or better Internet connection then others and that’s because of their location they are in. But yes this is far better then both Xfinity and Verizon Fios together and you can do online gaming with T-Mobile home Internet service. If you can’t then it’s because of your location your in.
@@fredreed2001 Hey, if it's all you have to choose from, it's better than nothing. But, to reiterate, I'm not talking about being able to game online. I'm talking about being able to successfully play FPS games. It's an uphill climb when you have pings that are well beyond 100ms, and you're playing against people with 10-15ms pings.
Great vid! Just installed mine yesterday inside my TV’s Media Stand hidden behind one of the doors. Have about 12 devices connected. In terms of connection and speed, I’m getting full bars with lows of 155mbps and highs of 340mbps down on average. Uploads are 11mbps to 65mbps. I’m guessing the lows and highs are attributed to the modem toggling between 4G and 5G. My 5G iPhone consistently gets 5G speeds of at least 450mbps down and 50mbps up. Wish the modem was just as consistently high. That said, for $50mo. compared to the higher prices of Comcast and Verizon I have zero complaints at the moment. Plus install and usability is incredibly fast and easy. Just plug it in and you’re pretty much off and running. Super simple.
LMAO, i work for TMobile and I can tell you that's about the fattest lie I've heard about our internet. We don't have speeds near that high nor do we recommend using that many devices at ones cause the internet slows down considerately

I'll begin by saying I'm spoiled by living in NY and having access to Fios 500mbps plan for slightly less than this T-mobile plan.... That being said I can see this as a very good option for those who live in more suburban settings with fewer home internet options. I hope that over time t-mobile can increase the data speeds.
It doesn't work well that great in your upper ny

It’s pissing me off how awful it is
Been using Tmobile 5G for a short time and its so impressive. Its much faster compared to xfinity. Recently xfinity let me know they were going to cap my usage but for another $20/mo could get unlimited. Having some competition in the market is very welcome. Although if my tmobile speeds stay steady I dont know how cable would ever persuade me back.

WOW that's fantastic!
People are already modifying it with external antenna adapters which I have always thought the systems and others should come with a simple plug-in for an external antennas it would make them so much more usable
I might have to try this out
T-Mobile is my home internet it does vary where you are located and if you add an antenna you will get a better service, the issue with gaming is the UPnP does not register, and play is in moderate as opposed to an open nat. Still very doable. The area for which you live depends on your speeds as well, -meaning what are you able to connect to? 4g-5g which also plays a big factor in the speed you will have.

I live in rural Washington State. We were paying Centurylink $40/month for an unreliable 4mbps. That was the only wired ISP we could get due to location, and that was the fastest speed they could give us. We finally switched to a local ISP who uses wireless access points to get us our internet, and now we’re paying $60 for 6mbps. While better and more reliable, it’s still slow and sometimes spotty. Plus, when the internet goes down over the weekend, we have to wait until Monday. Supposedly, my address isn’t eligible for Home Internet, but my neighbor across the street has it. After months of trying, I finally convinced T-Mobile today to let me get this even though my address technically isn’t eligible! Should be here in a few days, so we’ll see how it goes! For everyone saying the speeds are still so slow, when your only option is to pay more for slower Internet because you live rural, Home Internet is so incredibly appealing!
How much of an improvement did you have?
@@zarincarr2408 we got a reliable 6-15 Mbps down and 3 Mbps up for a while, but, after some local tower modernization, service has been absolutely horrible. I currently have a ticket in with T-Mobile and should be hearing from them within the next couple of days. Looking at a service map for our area, coverage is limited, so we definitely don’t expect to get the same speeds that others are getting. We are just happy with anything over 6 Mbps!
The way you can tell. Do you have good tmobile connection at your house. If so. Then the home internet will be fine. I'm rural. I have really good tmo at my house. They have 2 towers in the area. Over the hill from my area. No signal. I've had tmo for 10years. I just happen to be in a sweet spot relative to my area.
I tried T-Mobile internet in April 2021 and it was a no go. 6 months later coverage improved. I've had my TM internet running for a week now and it's been a rock solid 3 out of 5 bars which is great considering it's been storming every day. Speeds depend on the device. Oddly my newest 5g phone is the slowest at 35 mbps down and 15 up. All devices get the same 25ms ping and 15 jitter and no loss. Laptop and older 4g phone get 350mbps down and 15 up. I have 7 devices connected. The price has dropped to 50 a month and the T-Mobile TV dongle was included for free and works well. Since it comes with a promise to never raise your rate I'm going with it over my fiber connection with it's price creep. I'm in a new subdivision with 3 fiber options and I could play those services against each other but who wants to spend the time doing that. It's pretty much like fiber and the only thing that really stands out is web pages load a little slower. I'm a light gamer and I've had no problems. 50 bucks a month vs 70 that will increase with time. I'll take the 50
10yrs with tmobile. It will be that 50 forever, they are really good about grandfathering in. You will see increases in the plan prices. They never translate to existing plans. I cut the cord. 5 years ago when 4g got good enough to run devices. 5 g is great. I just bought the home internet.
15 jitter is absolutely awful. I mean that is terrible. Your lucky you have options to fiber. I do not, only spectrum
@@austinphifer-tg9oo 15 for jitter isn't awful. It isn't terrible. Streaming is just fine. Phone calls are just fine. Gaming on the PlayStation is fine. I don't know where you got your info, but you really don't start having troubles with jitter until you hit 50 and even then it will only affect some things. I've been running this for well over a year now and it works just fine. They've worked on the pole where I connect 3 times. Each time they warned me ahead of time and each time service got faster. Not unusual to hit 325 and as high as 400 megabytes a second. A lot people don't realize that your signal doesn't travel very far over the air before it gets to fiber or wire.
Kind of odd for this to be your first post after joining. I think it'd be interesting to know how many CZcams accounts you have.
I have tmobile home internet and I live in yukon oklahoma, and on tmobiles coverage map it shows I'm in the ultra 5g area and my speeds are super fast, download speeds is 400 - 500 Mbps peak hours and 500 - 600 Mbps off peak hours. Upload speeds are anywhere between 10 Mbps to 25 Mbps
I had this service for about a week. Could not get speeds above 15mbps, and it refused to stay connected to some of my older hardware. The problem with LTE is location location location, depending on where you live, where the nearest cell towers are located, do you have a clean signal to the tower...how far away are you from the tower etc etc, these questions are all something that directly affects the service.

This is strange for me, as a person who continually has to depend on my TMobile & at&t hotspots from my phones to game, the performance from this dedicated machine doesn't make much sense. We are researching for our Indie Game-Dev work. We (4) all live together and upload and download updates as our projects are in the cloud storage of Unity 3D. We used to used 400 - 500 Gig a month in bandwidth, but have worked to reduce it down to 160 to 200 Gig a month by manually updating folders on our hard drives using a synchronization app.
We purchased 5 acres 75 miles out of town in the woods of Florida and it is off grid, so we need a mobile / remote internet option. Nomad is over $100 a month and it never throttles and we have the ability to get it on the T-Mobile, Verizon or AT&T networks. We purchased three Mint Mobile phones with 15 Gig each hot-spot included with our cell service for $25 a month X 3 so for $75 we get cell service and 45 Gig total mobile hot-spot of data. We can use our cell hones on that wooded property and they are on the T-Mobile Network.
We purchased a used camper trailer to convert into a Mobile Game Dev Studio.
We like to do a lot of Archery, Kayaking, Camping, Hiking, Fishing and Photography in our down time.
We are also going to purchase 3 to 5 more properties around the USA to travel between.
I will present your video to the other three to see if they want to try it out.

Does it needs to be connected to the outlet all the time since it has a battery screen ?
Hello so if you have workout equipment like a Nordictrack treadmill will this not work? Plus homeschooling two daughters plus TVs.
Awesome option! Can’t wait to get rid of Spectrum!
have you got it? how is it. I am also stuck with spectrum's high insane price. Let me know if Tmobile internet is worth to get it or not...
Chris York do you do heavy of medium gaming?
If so, is Tmobile internet better than Spectrum because we would love to get rid of Spectrum but we have a gamer in the family who needs good internet all the time.
Starlink or this need to be in my area, I don't care which one comes first. I pay $130 for a 50 down, 1 up line here.
Home internet in the US is so so expensive. My home internet is just as fast, for a 10 times smaller monthly fee. I live in Bulgaria, but I think it's similar in all European countries.
But do you have a data cap ?
@@jpeter38s nope, unlimited
@@StefanbBorisov really? My friend has to pay extra in chunks if he goes over
@@jpeter38s as I said, the internet in the US is VERY EXPENSIVE, it's the same for mobile data
How does it handle multiple devices connected to it?
Thanks for your video...very helpful
Can you test with an Ethernet cable too?
The T Mobile modem has an ethernet wan connection for your router- is it a gig or 100??
Nice video, but next time for csgo gameplay you should turn on net_graph so we can see the latency, loss, etc.
Had to look this up.. it’s truly based off where you live. I guess my area is really congested I get about a steady 3 mbps
The lag you're seeing in the buffering could be the latency and not necessarily the speed.
Wondering if I can use with my smart TV?
Mange the the only plan I could get from at&t was the 10mbit plan and it was horrible for gaming as one one expect. I live in a trailer park and it’s not an ideal location. My T-Mobile motel/router was shipped the other day and I’m very excited to test this out.
It’s crazy looking back at this comment, I’m able to download game at about 200/300 mbps. Online gaming isn’t the best but it gets the job done I’ve come a long way
I am at the end of my rope with Cablevision. I will give this a try. Hope it works with a three-level home.
When will they have gaming for tmoible
