Wow I had such a similar experience. I tried to "get away" because I thought I'd become a prisoner of war and tried to escape. That just got me restrained and made me believe I was a prisoner of war even more.

Ick. Reminds me that I went through a very badly infected tonsil. Couldn't eat. Lost 22 lbs in 21 days by the doctor's scales. Vicodin didn't touch the pain so I got severely dehydrated from not being able to swallow & drink water due to the severe pain when trying to swallow. Peed like 2 tablespoons the color of coffee. Drs never took me seriously about how dehydrated I was. One of the worst experiences of my life.

I was coming out of sedation after surgery and I yanked the breathing tube out of my throat and tried to escape while most of the tubes were still in me. I don't remember it, but it took 5 orderlies to hold me down. Then I finally woke up, and apologized. But it hurt so bad I couldn't speak for 3 days.

I once had surgery in the knee, and i was drug and I remember giving a genuine expontâneos and true smile and blinking to a cute nurse there, and she liking it. At the time i was somewhat shy, if I wasn’t drug I’d never done it.
Comedy notwithstanding, because she's funny AF, but... yeah. The soft focus is REALLY distracting. I've seen her IRL, she's almost 50, she still looks awesome for almost 50 but come on... the soft focus ain't fooling anyone.

Same here, feeling great , told I'm about to die, from an abcess. How many times did they ask if you were an IV drug user ? Every specialist I had for my abcess asked me 5 different ways if I was a junky. I thought they were screaning me for drug seeking , but I finally found out weeks after I was better that junkies shoot up in their necks and get abscesses there. Thankfully, I had no clue that was thing.
No idea that was a thing either.

I bet that's even the majority of the cases they see like that, which is why they'd ask so much. Drug users often aren't forthcoming about it, so persistence probably pays-off.

They put me under for my wisdom teeth and my mom was working. They used nitrous oxide which takes a minute or two to kick in and my mom says that right before I went under I lifted my head, stared her dead in the eyes and said, "Told you I'd be a pilot." because of the breathing apparatus on my face and then just passed out.
I have no idea where that came from because I have never endeavored or desired to become a pilot.
