Just tried it with some spare SpinFit tips from my N5005. I just ordered more SpinFit tips. Makes it sound and fit better. Only thing left is to find a good cable clip and a solution for securely draping the cord over my ears. Good review.
Wow! This review is thorough. I really appreciate the detailed rundown by frequency ranges. Thank you for not just describing the ranges but explaining the implications of the characteristics. I just want to point out that your green filter is what's supposed to be the blue filter (and vice versa). I see that the green has the most dampening material in them out of the 3. Normally the blue ones are supposed to have the most dampening material but there has been an error during the production process. This has been pointed out by many owners (I've been doing a lot of research into these IEM's and that's what I've been reading). My pair is on the way. Looking forward.
This can be seen at the 32min 20second mark of the video. The green filter has the most dampening material and the blue filters have the 2nd most. They've been switched during the production process.
One the best reviews. Your reviews are so good You clear all doubts and leave no information to worry about and what to expect from a specific iem without bashing it down either. Excellent 5/5 from me
An excellent review on one of my most cherished single DD suckers. Just missing part II on sources and cables, since those JVCs are extremely picky re. what you hook them up to, at least to my ears after extensive A/B'ing. Anyway, subbed & keep it up!
Man...it's First time I watched this excellent review immediately subbed. btw can you recommend other IEM's almost same tuned one(because this look like normal earphones, I prefer IEM shaped shells like starfield, mest2 because their isolation is better).
Try these with “reverse starline” tips. They bring the rhythm section back into the mix (though they’ll never be a “consumer tune”). They sound much like you describe the Comply foams, but with less softening of the details, even more bass-mid-bass improvement, better imaging, and of course, without the annoying qualities of foamies.
An important note, review units (such as crinacle's pair) had different filters. The blue filter had more absorption material. This was changed eventually, with the green filter being closer to the review unit's blue filter.
You are absolutely right! Can't believe I didn't catch that (I even mentioned it in the vid, jeez...) Images on Drop's page has the blue ones being filled with more material as well. I tried the green ones again just now but still liked blues' sound more because it just sounds cleaner with female vocals and drums.
@@EarphoneusFanaticus Yeah, I don't know why they would do that... Bad move IMO. I've been trying the Spiral Dots with the green filter, and foams with the white, which seems to be a decent balance either way since the specific complys I have seem to really shelf treble and upper mids. The green with the stock JVC tips is still my favorite though!
Thanks for the extensive review - especially the section on ear tip compatibility. I have a set of FDX1 coming tomorrow and I can't wait to check them out.
Great review. Love the information on the tip rolling as well although I had a slightly different experience. From my perspective, I started using the CP100's, changed to CP145's and then back to the original Spiral Dot+ tips. I found the Spiral Dot+ brought out the bass and the detail. After your video though, I will probably experiment a bit more to see if I can match your results. In my case, I also preferred the blue filter which look identical to yours (the dampening material only goes halfway in the nozzle).
Like very much the FDX1 of Drop and listen to them a lot. But I think LZ A6 are better - same clarity of playback, better comfort, far better tuning options. Well, price is a bit higher but it is worth.
Hi, how do these stand against the AKG N5005? I want to buy my first IEMs and I'm considering one of these or if there's any other recommendation in a $150 budget you can suggest I'll appreciate this

Mine too, the Blue filter is less dampening than the Green.
Man, absolutely exceptional review. Just ordered some. "Which I have no way to verify, simply because I am not a dolphin." Love it haha!!
This is bar none the best earphone review I've ever watched. Not sure what else to say, but thank you for all this work!
Awesome & super comprehensive review - I just ordered mine with my Schitt stack, stoked to have them both for music & gaming.
One the best reviews.

I owned one of these, I would say this is one of the best in this usd 250 price range.

Thanx for the tremendous job for the review!

Great reviews! Too bad there are so few videos made.

I'm pretty sure you can only hear down to 20 Hertz because that is about the average lower limit to human hearing.
