This IS the holy grail of all the 1st Generation Rivs...gotta love the hidden headlamps behind the vertical light pods which opened like a clam shell... ...this restoration is superb, and represents hundreds, if not thousands of hours of tender loving care...nice job!! ...this livery of Bamboo Cream, accented by actual walnut veneer makes for an absolutely stunning example... ...this car is off the charts!!
I bought a new 1965 Riviera. My dream car all of those years ago and now again after seeing the beautiful restoration. Mine was light green with matching interior, fabric. What a car!
Wow! That Riv is awesome! Wanna bet it's still in the same condition today it was back when this video was uploaded to CZcams and the value is WAYYY UP THERE!
I had :( a 97 buick riviera, super white color ,with grey pin strip on body, SUPER CHARGED,and wide pro tires, and it was a beauti....It was made in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. I drove it for several years, BUT, the bludddddddddy salt on our winter roads killed the chassie...............i miss it.
This is THE ultimate Riviera design; no other model year Riviera can stand up to this one for sheer no nonsense elegant design. This one is so much more European in appearance. This includes the unparalleled interior design ( compared to other GM's ) My number one choice if I can choose to have an American vintage
I've seen several here in California, where it seems you can keep a car for life if you want to, as opposed to the Great Lakes region where many of them rust out after a seven-year period!
This generation of Riviera has a very unique frame design called the crucible. It's like a big X , to distribute the weight of the car more evenly to all four corners. With posi the frame helps keep all that torque and horsepower under control.
One thing that always dated the car for me were how incredibly flat the side windows were. It is however a lovely car. 1964 in Coral Mist was my favorite, I've only ever seen one and that was many years ago.
Some of these comments people wrote were almost worth commenting on but if I wrote what I wanted to say I would probably be in trouble that car is awesome and the paint who gaf about the clock or the horn bar or their comments as far as that goes. Maybe I'm wrong but come on I wonder if that guy that has a riv like yours has a brooklyn bridge also LOL
I love those early 60's Riviera's but the 65 is my favorite and the Interior is so awesome I love the dash and how the console connects to the dash and looks so high class another of my favorite's is the clam shell hide away headlights the only thing I don't like about the car is the idiot lights on the dash they should of been gauges instead of lights.
Anyone interested in buying a similar 1965 Riv GS but with no missing items and in similar or BETTER condition all matching numbers black on black correct original paint color and interior. Clock and AC works and no cracks in windshield and have the Horn Bar and even have the Reverberator option for the Am/Fm radio Let me know. In SoCal
Hey I got an idea. Turn right. Then turn left and the next road. Turn around and then turn right. Takes less time than waiting for all traffic in both directions at once.
The narrator, NOT the owner, is obnoxious as hell w/his CONSTANT interruption of the owner's explaining the car to the viewer! The narrator comes off like he's frustrated w/the owner's delivery...impatient...& regretting letting the owner speak for himself! Very unprofessional & uncomfortable to listen to! Should've just shutup & let the owner speak!
Very nice 👍 65 same year I was made it also has that unique buick sound. Oldsmobile has its own sound as does pontiac excellent job on the car and the video have fun and keep em coming thanks
Funny you say that. I just watched a 64 GTO video and in it the owner said the same thing you did which I never knew. He said it was still an option so they'd put it in the trunk which he had on display. It was what looked like a brand spankin new Tri power for the 389.
@@sodexousatablets3588 what did this sell for? I heard they can go for a chunk of dough. I just picked up a 65 gran sport that's been stored for 35 years.
What a gorgeous car !! My favorite design ever the 1965 Riv Gransport oh how nice these were. They don't make cars so beautiful anymore
The owner would probably never sell the car but could see this hammered at over 200K at Meachum in 2024.

Love that switch pitch torque converter.
The only thing wrong with this car is that I'm not behind the wheel & it's not in my garage. The color matches my house.

Don’t know where in Oregon this guy lives, but I lived there for 9 years and needed A/C every summer !!

tony serra you still have a riviera for sale? If you have one, text me @ 8088593474
How much you want for it does it have centre console!!
24:20. It looks like there’s a brake light out on each side. Beautiful car.
That missing knob on the radio is making me feel a little uncomfortable. But, it IS a beautiful machine.
Existing windshield has a crack in passenger side .Are replacements available? Clock is not working. Currently, my 47 yr. old GM clock doesn't either.

Was this design originally designated to be a Lasalle, and to be sold by Cadillac division?
Originally, yes.
Base coat clear coat? Wouldn't a factory GM car specially Buick had been painted in lacquer?
Why wouldn't you install period correct wiper blades
Air conditioning was a $430 factory option for these cars 1965.
Adjusted for inflation, that's almost $4,300 in today's $$$.
What was the point of tis video? To sell it? By the inference or just to show it?
Don't quite understand what jose feleciano benito martinez meant by this comment but he could take a english course and figyerit owt four uz

Is a bit off putting 😱
27:32 the front window is broken(((

Too bad the horn bar is missing!
GM wouldn't sell you A/C with dual quads.

QUICK? 41 MIN. AIN'T QUICK ESPECIALLY WITH DODGY VIDEO.
Would you prefer the video be short and not get all the details? A potential buyer would appreciate it.

Those were the real cars not the stupid robots on wheels of nowadays
Correct or not, the color sucks and would be worth more if it had nice paint.
You're right black or red will be perfect!!
I think the color is beautiful
