  • This is my version of Filipino style beef mechado, a tomato- based beef stew with red and green bell pepper, carrots and potatoes in rich, thick sauce.
    INGREDIENTS :
    ( Marinate )
    - 1 kg beef ( sirloin ), cut into chunk
    - 1/4 cup lemon juice or calamansi juice
    - 1 large onion, chopped
    - 1/4 cup soy sauce
    - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
    - 4 drops worcestershire sauce ( optional )
    - 2 small size red and green bell pepper
    - 1 large carrot, sliced
    - 2 medium size potatoes, cut into chunk
    - 5 gloves garlic, peeled and crushed
    - 2 medium size tomatoes, diced
    - add 1 to 2 cups of water ( add more as needed )
    - cooking oil
    - 1/2 cup tomato sauce
