This movie is classified as a romantic movie, but I think it's one of the few modern movies that are very true, from life, and that's why this movie won't get old even in another 15 or 50 years. It is beautiful, gentle. If there were more films like this in the world, the world would be a better place. It is an extraordinarily beautiful film.
This is such a coincidence and you may or not believe my story but I'm from Holland currently reading a book called Afrika is besmettelijk (Africa is contagious) by Steven van de Vijfer. The book is about a doctor who goes to Africa to work for Artsen zonder grenzen, An international medical project. I'm already so in love with it and highly recommend it. I'm a nurse student at the moment who wants to go work in international medical projects. But the point is i was just strolling down on CZcams and looking for a free fun movie and stumbled at this beautiful movie.. first i didn't think much of it but then I realized the plot of the movie and after the first few minutes was the same as my current book. Anyway, I had a Deja Vu feeling. It's wonderful to see the things you are passionate about in the moment connects in ways you didn't expect 😍
I believe there are no coincidences but God's grace works this way so something really special is in this for you! God bless you!

Love this movie. The actors are great, they play their parts very well. Great actors.Marisa Tomei is one of my favorites. Kind of sad though.

I truly didn’t know what to expect, life takes us on Journeys that we may not understand the depth and height of love. I was hoping they would find their way back together like a three strand cord but as fate would have it , the circumstances were unimaginable, nonetheless hope against hope wasn’t enough. Her last breath was with their love❤❤❤

There was once another movie called "only Love" which was much better than this one IMHO. It was about an American man and an Italian woman. I've search everywhere in order to find it but never did. Anybody?
In case you are wondering about the current situation in Africa: "According to the U.N., the population in sub-Saharan Africa is growing at 2.5% per year - more than three times the global average. Some of that can be attributed to people living longer, but family size remains the driving factor. Nov 15, 2022." Then there's India, China, Brazil, and onwards to the big crash and burn of the world. Such a dreadful thought but sentimental movies keep us in the realm of fantasy until reality slaps us hard in the face.
The amount of people is not a real problem at all. However, the evil imaginations in the hearts of those intent on culling the world's population, is.
They're also dying at an alarming rate in Africa. No food or water, disease, and a 25% AIDS ratio.

And seeing that in this movie the language used is Zulu, a South African language, that this is South Africa.
But the problem is there is no place like this in South Africa.

And today there sre wotld class hospitals and clinics.
This movie must be referring to another country using South African actors.
The flies on children is seriously a misrepresentation of South Africa. The villages are clean and you won't find flies. The poor build their houses with mud, decades ago. And their villages were the cleanest places uou could get. More than townships. I hate lies.

It´s funny to watch this movie and the part where Amsterdam is in the picture, looking like 1982, still proper and well cared for.
It´s changed a lot now, anno 2023. Don´t go and see for yourself, for it´s filthy, disorderly, and not cared for much. Touristic all over!

When during the movie was this a worry, and would it have concerned you 5 years ago? How about worries concerning contracting STD's from sleeping around with whoever comes in handy?
What I was also thinking: Taking all those immunisations - especially at once - probably was the reason behind developing cancer. Many international medical workers, missionaries, and soldiers are sadly suffering from contracting various mysterious diseases - either soon afterwards, or otherwise developing slowly.

I don't like when they tell stories in flashbacks. The intensity of the last shooting scene was dulled. I know he's going to be fine. Boring. If they just told the story in chronological order, it would have changed the feel drastically.
It was the screenwriters choice. Because of shooting schedules with actor's contracts and travel ...set-ups often involve "flashbacks".
