  • Long Range Dual Motor, no performance upgrades. Mobile App comparison between Tesla and legacy 75 year old manufacturers, such as Land Rover 🤔. (21,000 kilometres). Also body shop repairs - Tesla Policy.

Fully agree with all your points about the Tesla. Ours is just sixteen months old now and grandchildren love it although unlike yourself I’ve just added a Porsche Carrera 4 S cabriolet into our family. Wife thinks I’m nuts going from one extreme to the other but I’m old and still young at heart😊

Absolutely with you. Ironically we’ve just moved on from our 5th 911 after much fun 😊

Totally agree with you Rory. Having experienced both the Tesla and LR apps, the Tesla version is so far ahead of everything else out there.
That is exactly the reason that our next vehicle will be a Tesla unless a miracle happens and other manufacturers start to catch up.

Hi James 😊, ha some chance sadly. Apparently LR have outsourced their App services to a 3rd party company and are hamstrung by contracted terms, their inferior code and slow development ……….. whereas Elon owns all his own native code in-house 👌

As a fellow Y owner I think you've hit the nail on the head with the 'first principles' rethink of what a car needs to do. There is however a problem at the moment with the Authorised Tesla repairers and their exorbitant charges. The cost of insuring one of these has gone through the roof. Also high depreciation due to over supply and price reduction takes the edge off for me. We are however in it for the log term and still very much enjoy driving the car.

Yes, correct there are some areas of pain. Insurance risks and costs are an issue. Depreciation also likely to be a problem. Best to keep long term to sweat one’s investment 🤔

Thank you for this. After having my RRS stolen and written off and then being gut punched by my current insurance provider no longer insuring RRs. The ones that are offering insurance cover are offering it at around 10k for the year. I would have loved to have gotten the X but the Y will work great.

Great to hear, sadly mine also coming up to 1 year has been potentially written off, will find out weather I will ever get it back but up until then I have no issues and it has been great

You can’t watch bodyshop people via the Tesla cameras as the Tesla will be put in service mode that disables this function (bit of nonsense story )
And instead guiding your wife to the cafe you simply could sent the direction right form your phone app to her Tesla to navigate there . 😵‍💫
