    Our first visit to Teignmouth was our honeymoon in 1967 where we watched the film Sound of music at the cinema. Teignmouth has always been our holiday destination and pleased to say we will be returning on August 24th for a week to stay with Kathy at the Victoria apartments. We hopefully will be able to give you a wave Bill 👍

      We went to Teignmouth for our honeymoon in 1988. Not our first stay there though 😉. You've done well to keep up with your visits bravo 👏.

      Excellent! Hope you have a lovely time - Yes, you will probably bump into me - I'm easy enough to spot! Every single day between 1030 and 1230 I'm covering my usual routes - Look forward to saying 'Hi' 👍

    Thanks for the update at Dawlish Brook. Thought it looked so messy when we last visited. It’s always strange as soon as BBC Spotlight gets involved thing’s suddenly get done. Got them involved when we has a problem.

      Still not happening though - That 'Rigley' bloke on spotlight has said that even with volunteers and free equipment, it will cost to much money to do... 😥

    Great stuff bill. Was in Dawlish today. And in all our years of coming here never seen the Brooke so low of water. It really does need dredging. Great viewing tho mate. And look forward to the girls on the beach. See you tomorrow. Thanks bill 👍👍👍

    😂 😂 LMHO at the chap shovelling the sand into the bin, I wonder if he then went on to mopping up the breaking waves into a bucket. Yayyy the toppers back.... Please don't tell me if it's been 'disappeared' again Bill, I can't take the heartbreak, all that work 😢. Ttfn 😘

      @BillsPhoneTeignmouth  Před 27 dny +3

      I know right? It makes so little sense, I cant compute it! If they wanted the sand, plenty on the beach to choose from! As I said to Rob, I 'think' that topper is being taken in at night now - If only because its still there after all this time! 👍👍

    Hi Bill hope you're well, a rather damp and dull virtual walk around Teignmouth and along the sea wall, but still most enjoyable. Driving to work this morning it was raining very windy and dull, I thought too myself it looked and felt more like a march day than a mid August day, I think we've had our summer this year or at least a few summer days.
    Best wishes stay safe Jon and Karen

      @BillsPhoneTeignmouth  Před 26 dny +1

      Yes, worst summer weather I can remember in the last 10 plus years or so... But like I said at the start, gotta remain positive and keep going! Off on a boat trip tomorrow (Weather permitting) Cheers mate 👍👍👍

    Refreshing news to see some positive action on the Dawlish river situation, should be a big improvement. Can't throw the sand off that would be too simple😸. 😺

      Turns out though, that despite the free equipment and workforce, the council still say that its too expensive - So while my video segment suggests a resolution, it is infact still ongoing.. 😥

    Hi Bill, another misdated video from last November if I'm any judge of the weather..... what'😢s that? It really was only last week when you filmed it. Nice to see the topper back and being at a more overlooked part of town, hopefully it will last a lot longer. See you tomorrow mate. 👍👍👍

      Yes, awful weather again for the time of year! I 'think' that topper is being taken in at night now - If only because its still there after all this time! 👍👍 See you tomorrow 👍

    The last time you showed Rufus I oked about Larva Bread and mealworms. The advert was genuine, but I think they meant Laver Bread made from seaweed.

      @@Pooky-Cat My wife and I attended our councillors ( now MP) drop in at the library a few years ago , we both spoke to him about the state of the Brook and he suggested we formed a residence group & he would get in touch with us about the best course of action, never got back. Now as Martin Wrigley MP , residents can’t do anything and the costs way too high. It beggars belief

    Couldn’t have been better timing with the video Bill , it was a decent segment on spotlight too.
    Nice to see the Topper , the one celebrating the 200th anniversary in Dawlish is still surviving.
    Thanks again for sharing the plight of the Brook & apologies to your viewers for the Dawlish show.

    Saw last night's then and now. Be aware bill you can visit Haldon airport but you cannot fly your drone there. There are night jars nesting in the area so all rc flying is banned. For many years the council tried to stop our flying until they came up with the night jar reason.

    • @BillsPhoneTeignmouth
      @BillsPhoneTeignmouth  Před 27 dny

      Yes, its one of the only local places that comes up on 'Drone Assist' as a no fly zone... Real shame...
