Every time you give us a thumbs up a Narwhal gets its horn! (maybe..) - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Honestly, I don't think Stormbreaker will become a 'Groot'. Rather, it's a new entity. Something closer to Dr Strange's Cloak. The intense magic of the forged Hammer, and the potential of a living flora colossus' limb, combined to make the Axe what it is. Combined with Thor's tendency to talk to and pamper his weapon, it's growing it's own personality. The roots might just be, it's still part plant, and 'enjoys' being rooted every now and again.
I think the roots were there to 1) remind us that Storm Breaker is from Groot, a sentient being, and 2) acknowledge that Storm Breaker is sentient because it came from a sentient being
I love the comparison to strange’s cloak. That is how I interpreted it while watching the movie
Thats actually a great theory. Mordo shows off some artifacts they have in the og Dr. Strang and it makes sense that something like Stormbreaker would act like this seeing as what it is made from.
@@neilkalakay831 same
Tree Vision is what I think
It would be interesting if the running gag of Stormbreaker just doing things on its own and seemingly being sentient was actually because it's a living Groot. Adds another layer to those moments lol.
Keep this going for two more movies/series (staring love and thunder) with storm breaker becoming more and more active. Until finally in the third one it grows into a floracolossus.
It is a Groot. The movie was very clear about it. Just like Mini Groot (actual name Tree) is a Groot that started growing after he was planted by Rocket.
That’s actually a really cool explanation for why Stormbreaker suddenly acted like that when we’ve never seen inanimate objects do that before
Do Groot bits never die?
The planet where he died has a forest of teenage Groots.
@@Markcrazeer it depends how long rocket planted the stick.
Although; every "I am Groot" in the movies is an unique original recording of that specific line, so Vin Diesel read every single one of the "I am Groot" throughout the movies, also, also, actually, actually; Vin Diesel is the voice Groot in the SIXTEEN dubbed versions of the movies. He learned to say "I am Groot" in several different languages. What I'm trying to say is: let the man have his pay check! 😄
Can we have him release the translated voice lines anytime soon?
Make your $$$ Vin.
@@mrbyzantine0528 CZcams my friend, there probably is a compilation of it already. Plus if not you could always change the language on the dvd/Blu-ray/streaming website.
I'd always thought that baby Groot grew from the small branch we see Groot pluck from himself in the buildup to the final battle. That the reason baby groot was able to grow was because it was a LIVING cutting from a LIVING Groot. All of the dead sticks in the crashed circle on Zandar wouldn't be able to grow into a new Groot, because they were all dead.
As for Stormbreaker, it's another instance of a Groot severing a living portion of himself. A full arm instead of the tiny sprout in Guardians 1, but the same overall idea.
Scammers bro…. So sad.
I think that if the hammer didn’t have the enchantment than Jane would not be able to lift mjiolnier. However, I think that Jane becomes worthy in the final battle because she knows that if she does pick up the hammer than she will die or at least come close. And she picks it up in order to save like 20 children, the love of her life, and potentially thousands of powerful gods.
The hammer that is enchanted to protect her, speeds up her death. And somehow, it lets her fly, even though it didn't let Thor fly.
Yah but heroics arent enough. Doing heroic things doesn't make you worthy necessarily. Many would have done the same thing but that doesn't mean they can pick up the worthy
@@PhilBagels it did let Thor fly though, he flies by getting dragged around by it so through phase 1 and 2.
@@SymbioteMullet Thor had to spin the hammer and be carried by its momentum. Jane simply holds the hammer in her hand and just takes off flying.
@@PhilBagels that's because it's trying harder now stormbreaker is here. Competitive hammers, yeah?
I think that similar to a needy house plant, the piece need to be cared for and made to grow, and won’t grow on its own from debris, similar how a house plant won’t grow in the wild unless conditions are met. The guardians watered fed and grew the branch and it didn’t grow on its own so the other ones probably didn’t either
I'd like to think that the Groot branch gave Stormbreaker life and won't become a colossus since it's now an item because magic. I don't think there are extra Groots as a part needs to be "planted", otherwise anything original Groot did his thing on other planets, the galaxy would be infested with them. It'll be cool if SB starts getting colossus powers too. Obviously, no knowledge of comics but just sticking with movies. Even though it was a hindrance in this movie, it'll end up being a huge help in the future and I look forward to that.
I was thinking there would be infestations of groots everywhere that he was cut before. Would be an entertaining guardians movie. They have to go back to the places they left and clear out the problems they caused. Imagine an army of baby groots towards the beginning and ending with battling a bunch of adult groots
@@MidLifeChanger A cute plague across the galaxy! Anything is possible like in a What If or comic but it's unlikely to be a movie but could be a one-off mentioned somewhere.
And Gamora chops off both his arms at the beginning of the movie. But we don't see baby Groots growing out of those when they get back to Xandar. There are many species that can grow a complete form from just a part. But usually, it's not just any part. If you cut off a leg from a reptile, it will eventually grow back. But the severed leg will not grow back the rest of a reptile body. There's no reason to assume that just any part of Groot can grow into another whole Groot.
It would be interesting if it ties back into Thor being also the norse god of fertility. That would be an interesting callback to the norse mythology.
@@AlvaraWendell Very intelligent thought. I agree, maybe Stormbreaker rooting is due to its connection to Thor. That would however bring into question Thor's nature, if he causes things to take on life and sentience, that would make him more than just a god of thunder.
I like the idea of storm breaker not growing into a new groot but into some sort of new world tree? Wouldn’t that be even more amazing?
Yes. There is a theory that groot is part of the world tree and that is why he is unique
also the embers of genosis could also be connected
I am Yggy? (Short for Yggdrasil, the name of the World Tree)
Nice, New head canon now 🤟
From what I recall, groots race is descended from Yggdrasil, the world tree… which is where Thor goes to meditate.
1:37-1:45 In the comics, Groot’s homeworld is literally called Planet X. As for the main question about Stormbreaker potentially growing into a new Groot, it’s important to remember that Stormbreaker remained intact while Groot got blipped by Thanos.
that's not proof one way or the other
Stormbreaker might be the most powerful Groot ever. It received head on a full blast of the entire Infinity Stones and didn't flinch or missed its aim. Even Thanos got his hand damaged. But Stormbreaker, not even charred.
The upcoming Nova movie (or possibly Disney + show) will cover Thanos's attack on Xandar and its aftermath.
If any Groot sprouts survived, we will see them in that movie / show.
i think the thing you're missing is that they grow when planted. Baby Groot didn't grow until being planted in the pot. If the people of Xandar planted any of the twigs then yeah probably they're grow up.
Good point, but some of them are already buried in dirt from the impact so they might grow anyway
And who knows if Rocket did anything special like irradiate the twig first.
Until Thanos, that is
I think, if Thor left Stormbreaker in the ground long enough, watered it enough, it might sprout arms and legs,... with perhaps a head above the axe
I have a different theory, though they're not mutually exclusive. In my opinion, we think Stormbreaker is acting out because it's jealous, but really it's acting out because when Gorr grabbed it earlier in the movie, he infected it with Symbiote, which Gorr's sword is made out of in the comics.
What if it takes more than just a twig of groot. What if it takes care and love. We see rocket caring for the twig before baby groot emerges and Thor cares and loves his weapons more than most. So that love is what brings them life.
Report these people man.
Seeing how versatile Groot is once an adult. I would think he could relocate the axe to where ever he wanted throughout his body.
one hand axe, one hand hammer
Honestly, a axe-for-head headbanging groot on the battlefield just seems epic! I can already hear the metal music!
I think it would start out like baby Groot did with his head on the wood where the axe is, but I also think that since Groot is able to manipulate his appendages, Stormbreaker Groot would be able to manipulate where the axe head goes in his body, and even be able to spit the pieces to each hand when he fights in battle.
I picture Stormbreaker's head being either the hair of Groot 3.0, possibly standing the axe upright to form a metal mohawk, or angling the hammer head to form a metal bun. Alternatively, Stormbreaker's head could serve as the ornament at the end of a braid which Groot 3.0 could control as an extra, extra deadly limb. Either way, I picture Groot 3.0 grown entwined with the Stormbreaker hammer-axe head as being one totally metal Groot.
Report these scammers!!!
I was under the impresion that Groots species, while young, coukd speak normally. They grew into the speech of "i am groot" over time. Also, yes i think Zendar is now wholly a groot populace
That is how the comics are but not anymore
I haven't watched Love and Thunder yet, but, if they've established that the handle can take root, then I'd say it logically follows that it could grow into another Groot (in the comics, there was an entire species of Groots, who all said, "I am Groot", not because that is what someone told them their name is, but because of the formation of their vocal cords [handwavy nonsense comic book explanation]). I don't think there is any reason to expect that the axe head of Stormbreaker would remain a part of that Groot, though, unless the Groot just wanted to keep it. Groot could easily part the wood from around the axe head and let it drop (or could even break off another piece of himself to maintain Stormbreaker's handle).
For the MCU, though, I kind of hope they leave Groot as a (somewhat) singular character. Having a bunch of Groots, all named Groot, running around would wind up devolving the cinematic universe into something like that episode of Rick and Morty where decoy family after decoy family after decoy family pop up only to die. Why care about a character that has infinite replacements? With just the one, there still exists a chance of total annihilation (like when Groot was dusted by Thanos...nothing left to grow another one, except, I guess, the Stormbreaker handle, apparently).
This adds so much to the context within the movie. Bravo 👏
The part of groot that wraps around the axe thickens and becomes its face, the blade is the mo hawk and the hammer is its beard. That's why in Thor Love and Thunder Stormbreaker is jealous and has emotions because, "I am Stormbreaker"
I don't think that all of Groot's branches would have become another Groot. After they crash landed, Ratchet did not just pick-up any other branch in the area, he selected a few that I think he thinks it is possible to plant and grow back. At the end of the battle, Ratchet was holding only 1 banch.
5:36
"No can f***ing do." (I speak Groot btw.)
Has anyone ever noticed how they slow down the bar during the latter "half" of the ad so that it looks like you don't have much left to go and decide just to keep watching it?
On Jane being worthy: it would be a tough pill to swallow. The list of people who aren't worthy includes almost every Avenger. Only Steve, Vision and Thor himself qualify. What makes Jane worthy when Carol or Rhodey or any of the rest of them aren't? If we're good ng by the comics even Superman wasn't able to lift Mjolnir until Thor allowed him to do so (an ability which supports the idea that the MCU version has the same ability). Though interestingly in a different crossover Wonder Woman was able to wield Mjolnir without Thor's approval or awareness.
Anyway, the point its, I don't really see what would make her so special she gets to be on that very exclusive list.
loving the new intro!
There is a theory that Groot inherited his entire species knowledge and memories of his home World into him when it was destroyed, Groot was given a task by his own Race to find a new World to bring back his species, Groot is an individual that has been given a pretty big task, that’s why I reckon he always says “We Are Groot” he’s speaking with a hive mind like the Borg from Star Trek many individuals connected as a collective speaking together as one voice…
This is a pretty good theory, and I can accept that part of the movie more now. The first time I watched it on opening night I thought it was funny, but the second time I saw the movie it got old VERY quick. I'm not sure I would actually like it any better when I'm actually watching it, but this is a nice theory.
Storm Grooter!
Also, axehawk with a slight forward tilt (think 45 degrees or so), so he can have a full face with the potential for a front facing axe attack as well as a hammer for opponents sneaking up from behind!
Great video!
Could grow into a Groot and would just shed the axe with a new but shorter handle.
I'd love to see the Flora Colossi returned as a species (not sure if it would fit in any narrative way), but the biggest mistake is saying Stormbreaker would be their God. It would be Groot.
A teenage king that isn't really up for the job? If only there were historical precedent for us measly humans to relate to.
Yayyyyyy! Love you guys
i dont think just being planted is what is required to grow a groot but genuine affection that sparks the life of the wood. explains why storm breaker is becoming sentient.
Also storm breaker would be in its chest or on his hand and he would say I am Thor.
Or he just evolves into yidrasil
Anyone remember "Quest for Camelot"?
The Rooster/Axe? AKA "Bladebeak"?
I kept thinking of him as this video went on
Jay, Ben, I work at Basin Harbor and live in Vergennes, VT. Next time your up here you all have to let me buy you all a drink!
I looooove the SCB intro for this video!!!
Axe-face! Far more threatening than Taserface! And it wouldn't be metaphorical -- it'd be literal.
Definitely sharp side! Instant images of the nocturnal monsters from pitch black
With a part of Groot and the mystical properties of Stormbreaker, I think it could grow to be Yggdrasil, the world tree in Norse Mythology, which I think would be amazing.
Yggdrasil I'll have to look it up
Jane definitely gained access to Mjolnir through Thor's enchantment. Odin's enchantment had the condition that only the worthy can pick up the hammer, so they must be completely selfless, which Thor did become by attempting to sacrifice himself to save everyone from the Destroyer. The reason a large majority of the cast couldn't look pick up the hammer is because they would still have selfish motivations.
Jane was brought to Mjolnir with the promise that it would cure her condition. That motive alone would have made her unworthy by Odin's enchantment. Thor's enchantment however was about protecting Jane, and Mjolnir did this the best way it could, by granting her temporary powers to combat her disease.
Nice theory for a change!
Well, I can’t find it now, but I remember a scene with all of the Groot sticks growing and dancing at the crash site.
Your Xandar thought got me thinking. In the comics there’s an entire species of plants called the Quotati or something, they show up in Empyre, but they’re all plant people and they can mimic humans. Maybe that’s what Xandar will become.
Two quick thoughts. How many times is J almost saying Love and Blunder instead of Love and Thunder and which is cuter, Baby Groot or Baby Yoda?
Loved the intro
If you check the deleted scenes for "love and thunder", Mjolnir actually shows some form of sentience similar to Stormbreaker by going up to Jane's hospital window and knocking on the glass pane without having been called by Jane.
God I love this channel!
Rocket's stick isn't where Baby Groot came from. During the prep montage in GOTG 1 Groot flexes and produces a bunch of spikes. He pulls a flower headed one off his face and that is what becomes Baby Groot. It was already planted. Groot went into that fight expecting to either die, or come back to a child.
Maybe the Groot face would grow around the axe head? So he could still have a face, but it would be split in half. Or, maybe he will have a flower face and open the flowers and headbutt enemies.
I imagine Groot-Breaker would have eyes above the top of the axe, mouth beneath the bottom and for the Hel of it, a wooden ponytail on the hammer/back side
You are forgetting about the Scene when Mjolnir creeped up on Jane the way Stormbreaker does to Thor. It’s like the magic gives it some form of intelligence. As if the Hammer actually is aware of who is worthy and who’s not. That’s why Thor always kind of talks to his weapons. They aren’t just extensions of himself. Same with how LightSabers can feel and are connected to the force by their crystal!
Harry's Wand acted on its own and is intelligent in its own way. A wand is technically a weapon and so wands have intelligence & can make their own decisions.
The cap was An enchanted object and had a personality
I think the ax would come out the aides for Groot Breakers' head like a funky hair doo.
Mjolnir did do a similar sentient thing at the end when it was in the hospital room with Jane. It was ready to roll before Jane had even decide
Vin Diesel described groot in guardians 3 as "alpha groot". Maybe your theory is why. GrootBreaker would be pretty BA!
What gets me is when Thanos click his fingers and wiped out half of their galaxies population Groot disappeared but Groot’s arm the handle on Stormbreaker stayed maybe The metal to make Stormbreaker and the power behind it saved Groot‘s arm and where witnessing the birth of a new Groot….
I've always thought this since the moment he got dusted in Infinity War. Just use Storm breaker to grow another Groot. I always just thought to chop off the end on the handle though and plant that. But a whole axe faced Groot, that's something.
Love the dad puns. But I think you’re right about other Groots getting destroyed with Xandar. It’s really hard to say and breaks my brain a bit.
Also, I think Stormbreaker’s axe would be the arm still, not the face.
I HAVE BURNING QUESTION: why did Mjolnir put itself back together for Jane but NOT for Thor?
Because it's a crappy, badly-written movie. This is just one of probably over 100 things in it that don't make sense.
@@PhilBagels oh I didn’t know you worked for Carlin Bros.
11:07~ Can someone explain to me the first and third puns? I did get the "leaf it alone" pun.
I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS SINCE I SAW THE TRAILER!!!!!!!!
I imagened it more like origenal groot with stormbraker in its chest. It would be an very iteresting character and a very powerfull one.
When baby Groot 'grows' , (if he has no memory of things that happened before), does he just assume he is adopted by Rocket,- does he not wonder why there is no one else like him around?
You guys are slacking! Where are the weekly J vs. Ben quizzes?? 😂
Your theories are amazing and you put so much time, thought and effort into them and we all enjoy them but J vs. Ben is where it’s at lol. It shows your personalities, your dedication and involves the viewer by having us play along. It’s also thrilling and keeps us on the edge of our seat whether Ben will finally win another game in these competitions. 🤣
Please keep up the theories but if your not to busy with that don’t forget to do the weekly J vs. Ben!!!!! 😁
Do cars have souls. Does Sally have memories of being a lost soul
personaly as funny as it would be for storm breaker to be the face i think it would be an arm to me it makes the most sense
When he said the blade was a nose, all I could think of was Bladebeak from Quest for Camelot
Perfect amount of tree puns 👌😄
I feel like it he needs to be planted first, like baby groot had to grow in a pot before his legs formed from the roots and storm beaker only started growing when it was planted and impediment stopped as soon as it was uprooted so the other sticks from the original room would also need to be planted
I'm pretty sure Jane is worthy (if you are worthy then you get the powers of Thor when you hold Mjolnir) and the protection thing was what made it react to her before touching it.
The idea of a Groot with an axe as a head..... REMINDS ME OF SIREN HEAD!
In the comics when Groot first joined the Guardians of the Galaxy he could say more than just I am Groot. It wasn't until he sacrificed himself to save the Guardians and cam back as a sapling that he was reduced to just I am Groot.
The axe would be kinda like a head ornament or "hair" persay so Groot-Breaker would still have a full face and bw able to speak, but yes the sharp side would be tbe same side as the face.
The idea of another Groot with the power of Stormbreaker sounds like an awesome concept.
The axe head would be either 'New Groot's hair, or would grow an arm for it.
Though being its head would be the logical thing, I’m kinda digging the idea of the axe becoming an arm. So an integrated weapon, kind of like we see in Teen Groot before he chops off his own arm. And also kinda like the OG Lego Bionicles (especially Lewa).
Good video
Groots are usually a peaceful race, but Stormbreaker is made for war and has been used as a weapon since seconds after birth.
Perhaps this will cause Stormbreaker to have an emotional crisis of whether its a living being or a weapon.
Being a Floral Colosus made partially of a strange metal, they'd name him the Iron Giant
Galaxy brain: Grootbreaker's axe doesn't have to be isolated to one location on his body, but since he can twist his branches and limbs into any shape, he can thus move the axe wherever he wants. Makes the most sense to have it as a hand, but there's nothing stopping it from having it in his chest most of the time or from moving it down to his foot so he can kick Thanos in the family jewels.
if the axe did grow a mouth its words would be "i am stormbreaker", on that the twigs and sticks could become homeworld for groots species bringing in the original groot from the comics it was originally a villain
Honestly I've thought this was the likelihood since he cut off his arm for Stormbreaker in the first place. It's established that Groots "reproduce" by planting a severed twig of Groot.
Groot - think about Ents and the walking forest, secret Tolkien reference? maybe! :)
Infinity War/Endgame related plot hole that has been bothering me since Endgame came out. Maybe (I hope) you all can answer it. Why didn’t Strange just sling ring them back to Earth when Strange, Tony, and Peter were on the ship on the way to Titan? Why did he ask Tony to turn the ship around? We know from the fight on Titan that he had the sling ring and we see in Endgame that Strange could sling ring from Titan to Wakanda for the Battle of Earth. It’s so unresolved!!!
I think there's a HISHE with all of the twigs dancing on Xandar.
I could be wrong but I believe sentient weapons are a thing in Norse mythology. The sword of summer is a prominent example of this at least in Magus Chase.
I’d imagine the axe/hammer part would be embedded in the chest area.
My theory is that if storm breaker is an extension of an cut off arm I’d like it if it would stay that way as the groot grows. Then when the groot if old enough they would just open their hand and give the axe head back to Thor already harnessing all the new powers from working with Thor as storm breaker. This will be a new species of groot for everyone that grows from its groots after
I think that these other Groots are more like clones. There are actual plant species that can grow clones of themselves. Also, in horticulture and gardening practices, you can grow/duplicate plants by planting pieces cut from the stem (known as propagation)
Side note, Thanos had the Infinity Gauntlet made before the events of Ragnarok. I mean, we see it in the "Fine, I'll do it myself" end credits scene in... was it Age of Ultron? I reckon he had it made shortly after Thor: The Dark World when Loki had assumed the form Odin to rule Asgard. As he was more interested in plays about himself and comfy living, the Dwarves would have been basically unprotected, giving Thanos his chance to get a new oven mitt.
I'd personally love to see Stormbreaker be the new Groot's foot. That'd be one hella dead ninja tree.
Also, props for all the arbor jokes. I'm a sap for good tree humor. 😆😆
My guess is that at some point (maybe a Thor death?) that the axe head and handle will separate. The axe head (storm breaker) gets a new handle and goes to Beta Ray Bill and the handle could reattach to Groot basically becoming a Thor powered Groot.
An other question, if it were part of the teenager Groot, should the stormbreaker handle have disappeared with teenager Groot?
Technically, a plant’s offspring usually only come from the fertilization process and growing from seeds. That’s how you get different plant generations and breeding to happen. Taking cuttings from a plant, like a branch or stem, then growing it makes a clone of the plant. So technically, teen-Groot is a clone of OG Groot and MAY have retained some memories because according to Olaf, water has memory (but of a reach, but hey. Anything’s possible in the MCU).
I think either he would be able to control where the two original pieces of stormbreaker are, or they would transfer to his back or something
Each particle of the dusted Groots could have grown into a full Groot? With Stormbreaker as their god they would be unstoppable!
Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Xandar was populated by Groots, but I personally hate that idea because I like the concept that Groot is a one-of-a-kind with the exception of Stormbreaker
