This is probably one of my favourite videos on introverted feeling. I like the last part when you connected the function to dreams… Love doing dream interpretations, gives me more access to my deepest feels. - ENFP

    I’m really enjoying your channel.
Your description here has helped me to finally see I’m an Fi user, not an Ni user. Vibes is an appropriate description. It’s why I immediately know whether I like someone or not. I pick up on the totality of their being in an instant. It’s also why I had trouble with eye contact when I was younger. If I could sense what someone was like just by their presence, looking into their eyes was like staring at their soul. Even worse, I thought they were staring into mine. I was much older before I realized most people don’t experience eye contact that way.
Now, I can synchronize my inward emotions to an outward appropriate facial expression, but it’s a skill I’ve learned.
Also, Fi without structure seems to dissipate into invisibility. It’s why people can be having a conversation and wonder out loud where I am when I’ve been sitting there the entire time.
On the other hand, if I go into effectiveness mode and show up in the world, people keep expecting me to show up even more. I end up a very effective shell of myself. It’s really a struggle to balance showing up in the world and not being sucked into it.

Hello Miriam, thank you for sharing your personal experience with the functions. It's always reassuring and comforting for me to know that my content is well-received, especially with these videos about the functions themselves. I can really relate to what you've said about eye contact, especially at an early age- and it's something that I've found affects both INFP's and INFJ's on a deep level. It can be very overwhelming at times. However, regarding Fi and IxFP's, it's important to note that both of these types have strong Ni-usage, it's just that the INFP type specifically prefers to trust their Ne over Ni when push comes to shove.

I really like how you related Fi to being feline, while Fe is canine. There's so many ways to illustrate the differences between the two, but I thought it was a pretty brilliant yet simple way of describing them.

Thank you for this video! I'm an INFP and I had a general idea of how my Fi works but am thankful for the insights you shared. The water example is so on point! There are a few great people in my life that I can only tolerate for so long and I feel bad about it. It's just that they are so intense and/or have anxiety issues that stress me out even if they aren't saying much.
The dream world part rang true for me as well. For example, if I dreamt that someone I love betrayed me, it will take about two days before I stop "feeling" the betrayal. It can be really strange!

i strongly disagree that fi is sympathy, and fe is empathy. it is the opposite. an fi user is in touch with the inner sensation of emotion and therefore can literally feel what you feel, perhaps by choice, or not, i am not sure yet. that is true empathy. fe users will respond with the expected emotional response, and the feeling is outside of them, impersonal.
‘empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing **from within their frame of reference**, that is, the capacity to place oneself in another's position.’ definition from wikipedia
i guess i said a lot of what you said. also, i very much liked the lunar vs solar energy analogy.
my point is the inner feeling of what someone else feels is empathy while the outer and less personal feeling is sympathy.

i love that you talked about dreams and i had also realized fi is feline and fe is canine. people still question whether cats truly love you, but if you are close enough to one that likes you then you know beyond doubt they create strong bonds.

These are just my 50 cents but as far as i understand, sympathy means putting yourself in the other persons shoes and feel what you would feel yourself in that situation, from within your frame of reference as you said, and then empathy is more like literally feeling the same thing the other person is feeling or smth like that wich seems pretty Fi and Fe to me but again, just my thoughts.

Thank you,I always wondered why it takes me more time to process things. I need to know how I feel all the time and it's ok and can be powerful too.

"Empathy means experiencing someone else's feelings. ... It requires an emotional component of really feeling what the other person is feeling.
Sympathy, on the other hand, means understanding someone else's suffering. It's more cognitive in nature and keeps a certain distance."
It seems you've conflated the two? unless you're connecting it from a different light to which I'll be open to understand the underlying reasoning of.

Hi Dea, thank you for bringing this up. This point is really important so I'll be sure to clarify what I'm getting at in my Fe video.

    • @wegotonelove
      @wegotonelove Před 3 lety

@dea B that is incorrect. It's a common consensus on the internet, so I see where you got it from. Sympathy means "feeling together". Jung said the Fi dom will feel internally but not express outwardly. Empathy is an ability to understand how someone feels (can be cognitive)

@@wegotonelove Yes, I've come to understand it as such myself. He also did elaborate on it in another video if I remember correctly. Still, I appreciate the feedback.

Hi J, I'm just using the classical symbolism which goes back to ancient times- of the left side of brain being more masculine/analytical/logical and the right more feminine/intuitive/creative. It's easier for most people to understand that way. Of course with science and referring to EEG brain scans from Dr. Nardi's work for example you can get more specific answers with functions and neuroplasticity, which is really fascinating!
