If that's a Tohatsu 2 strokes 30 HP outboard factory delivered with a 13 prop pitch, expect to lose 1000 wot revs when at full throttle, will need to check that out with an induction tach. Ideal would have been a medium pitched 11 prop.

I had an 11P on my old 30HP Mercury 2 stroke which got me 54km's on an older 420 Dory, which is essentially the same hull.
Funnily enough I've now got a Tohatsu M50D2 3E3 50HP with a standard 12P + 13G Yamaha prop on it and upgrading to the 420 Renegade, so will have both setups in the video around August.
Going to be interesting. Quite shocked the 50HP's were only $5,000 back in the day too.

On thunder cats, a lot of people take out the oil injection and just use a 50:1. Idk why but some people prefer that

In norway people remove the autolube from Yamahas too, people do it because they Are afraid it will fail and the engine will lock up.

Thats a lot of torn balls. The manufacturers need to get the message. Outboards are way to overpriced and the market needs disrupting. I look at what goes into a Triumph , suzuki or Honda motorcycle and compare it to what you get in a similarly priced outboard, the prices are disgusting. Glad brands like Tohatsu are making them wake up to themselves.

@@officialWWM No, not in the States. The only Tohatsu engines sold in the United States are their 4-stroke engines. Same with Mercury. I have no interest whatsoever in a 4-stroke

These old carburated two strokers are banned for sale from dealers in the EU and US from about ten years ago. From an emissions and fuel consumption pov it's a bad choice to buy this engine but for performance and its light weight it's pretty good.
