#onepiece #netflix #reaction
Reasons why we might get a Season 2:
- 'One Piece' is currently #1 in 84 countries on Netflix, surpassing the record set by 'Stanger Things' Season 4 and 'Wednesday'.
- No. 1 for total online audience engagement.
- No. 1 Most Popular Show in Rotten Tomatoes.
- 'One Piece' crashed Netflix on its release
Thats great hope we get to see albasta arc really want to see vivi and robin
don't forget chopper!
Did it really crash Netflix? I didn't see anyone talk about that like they did with Crunchyroll crashing
I see them going the Rocket Racoon route for Chopper
@@giragod9373 Yeah Zoans will be weird imo. I feel like Dalton for example can just have good makeup on him to bring his Bison fruit to life, while Pell and Chopper need CGI.
The ending absolutely destroyed me. Just the editing of them proclaiming their dreams cut with the formative moments of their earlier years that led to that dream is just so good and emotional
Same here, the barrel scene was a killer, strong nostalgia from the anime.
they cut the scene but in the series its happened😂
Dude, this is just gold.
they made it!
It wasnt scripted
Those screams for "Gum Gum Gatling" and "Gum Gum Battle Axe" came from the soul
For real, I firstly thought I would get cringed out by those exclamations in the Live Action but I really liked it. Young Godoy did a great job. I can't wait for season 2
Agreed. Got chill to my spine
That Battle Axe shout tho. Inaki Godoy did a great job at that
@@doyouhearTim how I feel about many performances in this show! They somehow replicated the feel of the anime without making it feel cringe or like they were trying too hard, loved it
I find one funny scene where there needs to be serious .. when sanji backstory he says "you ate it " that was too funny
Nothing like spending your Sunday watching three geekbros cry over a TV show. Y'all are the best reactors I've seen out of all the "One Piece Fans" reactors. Top notch stuff.
🙏
that's exactly what I am doing the entire day🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣4 minutes left to the end of this video. After that I am gonna go out for a walk while listening the main song "My Sails Are Set" again and again and again. 😂😂😂😂
W
@@mrokhaos8269Honestly even if you don't like the show, "My sails are set" is just a good song
Omn1media has an INCREDIBLE reaction to this as well. He never watch OP. But bro is obsessed now😂. It’s so good.
PLEASE LET THIS GET A SEASON 2!!!!
I saw in twitter 10min ago that they are preparing for the next season
No way it doesn’t after breaking Netflix records
Please please pleasee! Loguetown and Alabasta is reallll!!!!
it'll almost definitely get a S2 the question is how many it'll get after that
S2 will be the make-it-or-break-it moment for the series, viewership will either stay high with new OP fans deciding to stick around and watch vs only existing OP fans watching. Can't forget this series cost Netflix a colossal amount of money.
It better..
Ruff: Loguetown's gonna happen
Loguetown: Doesn't happen
Oda: 🐠
😂
The fact that we catch a glimpse of Smoker at the end, makes me so hopeful for a Season 2.
Pretty sure they have season two already planned out and maybe some shot because of how much they tease throughout so if nothing else we should get season two.
The tangerine rind pinwheels in this version wrecked me. You could tell the ladies made those together for years, having fun with what they had on hand, Belle Mere trying to show them that they could still have fun without much money. So symbolic in Nami's personal growth as she resented her mom's circumstances as a kid, but she accepts and honors her mom by making the pinwheel at the end! Such a small change that elevates the arc!
I can’t wait to see the live action Smoker, Ace and Crocodile. There the fist logia types to be introduced so hopefully they don’t flop them.
I think those are the "easiest" one? we have already saw in other movies like Marvel those types of elements, the most complicated will be Chopper, maybe animatronic like the Transponder Snails with CGI.
@@pavelestrada7988with chopper i hope they do something like detective pikachu or sonic and it gonna be fantastic
Imo, it's the actors who portrayed the villains carry the whole show. One piece live action the best!!!👏👏👏
I have no worries for the logias, these kind of powers have been adapted well and many shows already but the upcoming arc will be even harder to adapt with Chopper, everything in little garden, the laboon reverse mountain stuff, arabasta has crazy animals and caroo, then we have zoans like dalton and pell…
They will need a shit ton of money just when chopper is on screen and i think a lot needs to be cut, like when game of thrones always ran out of budget for the direwolfs and dragons
I can't wait for a live action gear second it would be epic 😁😁😁
My favorite detail that they've subtle snuck in to this show, is just HOW often luffy makes people laugh. Not even by being funny. But by just being luffy. And also the small moment that just clicked to me of one of the first big big impactful moments for a lot of people being arlong park is luffy setting someone free, and putting smiles on faces.
It really feels like Oda using his second chance to redo the beginning of One Piece in a way that he only could with the knowledge he has now.
I have to say that Nami's theme added much more emotions to the scenes
That song was my favourite from this LA.
@@rickchakraborty2087 Me too I saw that was the singer Aurora who also did into the unknown from frozen 2 I think she did such a great job the song is beautiful, emotional, lyrics are accurate and all
It's probably my top favorite 🤍
I want that song played at my funeral or something
@@ArkSylv Imo I listened to this late at night before sleeping
Also they already did the song in Episode 4 when Merry first sets sail, just in case you guys missed it.
I just love how we're getting a fresh one piece. They could've just not make a live action version and the story will live on its own but I appreciate how they're retelling the story that keeps it fresh
WE ARE! doesn't play just at the end. It plays at the end of episode 4 when they leave with Going Merry from Syrup Village.
Also, you guys forgot kid Smoker at Roger's execution.
Giants aren't difficult to pull out. Remember that Peter Dinklage played one in Infinity Gauntlet.
Season 1 was incredible. I am hopeful we'll get a season 2. I want to see this go as far as possible.
I've commented before - I'm not an anime person AT ALL, but I love pirates. Black Sails is my favourite show, and Our Flag Means Death is great too. I went into this show expecting to be a bit lost from references that would go over my head, but I never felt that at all. It's such a delightful world that clearly has so many more sides to it, so I really want to see a season 2. It's been recommended that I skip the anime and go straight to the manga, so I'm going to try that to fill the time until the live action comes back 🥲
It's worth it while waiting for the 2nd Season
One piece is better in the manga than the anime imo. I've tried to watch it but the voice acting and sound didn't fit how it was in my head when I was reading. Especially luffy . I actually think the live action version did a better job in that department. I also think the music fits better often.
@@AfroVNah u trippin VAs are perfect
The anime is good pre ts
Also start from the beginning
I have never been a fan of One Piece and I gave myself the opportunity to watch this live action and man, when the final scene came I didn't want it to end. The music playing during the credits made me feel the same emotion I felt when I heard Into the West at the end of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. I am anxiously waiting for the second season to be released.
For what it's worth, the manga is a great read and they changed a lot of things (some for the better, some for the worse) in the adaptation, so maybe if you want more, checking it out would be an idea. There's a coloured version online, too. Just an option.
Building on Leopards comment
The Anime is good too
Just stick to FUNimation’s version and avoid 4 Kids like the plague
@@GILLIGFANSub*
One piece has a lot in common with The Lord of the Rings, Movies streamline the things that can be And work around where you have to where things perhaps won't work the best in live action as compared to the written word.
@@royalfun1031 This - the sub is the best option unless you absolutely have to have it in English. The voice actors go wild and each of them fit the characters so very well. The English is... okay... but it's got squeaky voice syndrome for Luffy and some really weird decisions for characters in places. Also some absolutely hokey lines. XD
I couldn't be more excited and proud of the crew that worked on this. It was absolutely brilliant! Loved every moment of season 1. Pleeeease give us season 2 with MORE EPISODES NETFLIX!! There literally isn't a show out now that's even close to this.
i’ve been stalking your channel waiting for this one to upload 😭
😭😭
hahahaha same here!! I'll feel like watching together with friends seeing how they react to every mind blowing moment!!
I didn't think I would shed a tear over a sail. Yet here I am doing just that. Epic epic epic. Sucks that its probably gonna be two years before we see a season 2.
I've done nothing but spend the last few days watching reactors reacting to the live action and you three were the best. Let's all wait for Season 2
I can't wait for season 2, cuz Robin will also probably appear on it. I wonder who's gonna be the actress tho
Probably a Russian actress
@Delia_2002 with the war going on, they probably will not dig that grave. I would say a slav, Greek or even Egyptian. She was quite tanned at first, and everyone liked that.
@@rhuanvI wouldn’t be mad at all if they cast a dark skin woman woman as Robin.
@@rhuanv Damn a tanned egyptian with light eyes would be perfect! Although we know Oda's original image of Robin was supposed to be a fair, tall woman so that's probably what we'll get since he approves the casting
Anya Chalotra can do it
Yall are fr the only reactors who understood the spirit and theme of one piece
It's wild that in S2 we will be getting Smoker, Dragon, Laboon, Chopper, Vivi and HOPEFULLY Ace, Robin and Crocodile. I can see Loguetown, Drum Island and Alabasta all being 2 episodes each, with Laboon and Whiskey Peak being POSSIBLY in the same episode? And most likely Little Garden also.
This is what I hope. Loguetown can be 1 awesome introductory episode for Season 2 that culminates with them entering the Grandline perhaps bumping into Laboon as end. Then have Whiskey Peak to Little Garden be episode 2-3. Drum Kingdom be 4 to 5 and have the final 3 cover Alabasta arc. That would be epic.
I'm hoping they give us more than 8 episodes this time, I'd say 12 would be a perfect amount to get everything done@@benjaminroe311ify
I'm glad you guys love and appreciate this LA as much as I do. All people who are involved in this LA are so dang amazing. I'm glad Oda participated and agreed to have LA, because it's one of the best decision. All actors did so great portraying their roles.
I wish there are more episodes, or at least have season 2. As OP fan for 7 years and counting, this LA makes me love one piece even more.
Sending a 🙏 that Netflix gives the go ahead for a season two. One Piece live action has given us a fantastic take on the series and presented it a whole new generation and whole new audience. It's success will have ripple effects not only for people trying out the anime afterwards but also the manga too. It makes business sense imo.
I mentioned in one of your earlier episodes that Garp, Shanks, Mihawk, and The Grand Line are what drove me to start the Anime. The scene of Mihawk and Shanks together was one of those moments. When Shanks said, "I could still take you..." I believe him...like...a lot. I think it would be a battle for the ages, and just reinforces my thought of, "how are these kids gonna be able to do this?"
I like how even though the characters aren't as freakishly huge as they should be, they still have their immense strength.
I'm happy this is doing so well chiefly because Oda saw this as his last chance to make One Piece more popular in the rest of the world. I think it's working.
I'm new to One Piece and absolutely loved the adaptation. I've been watching all sorts of reactions and reviews and cast interviews and came across your reaction series and basically watched the season again alongside you! I'm so happy that hardcore fans like you guys feel like they've done justice to their favourite universe. SEASON TWO LESSSGOOOOO
Since it came out. I've binged it from beginning to end 2 times already. I love it so much!!! This neeeeeds to get a season 2!
Its been so fun watching yall react!! hope we get a season 2 🤞
I NEED SEASON 2 ❤
I enjoyed the show sooo much and I enjoyed rewatching it with you guys! All I can hope is the Season 2 covering Loguetown and Alabasta doesn't take literal ages to come out
these titles are so insane lmao
Just speaking facts
@@sortastupid i hope this is some kind of joke I'm not understanding, like i seriously pray you don't actually believe that like for the sake of the collective unconscious and the future of humanity 😂
Thank you guys so much for pausing and rewinding throughout instead of talking through each scene about the last one like a lot of reactors did
I have watched/read absolutely nothing of the anime/manga, but your reactions are by far the best i've seen, you obviously love this story and it shows, i enjoyed watching this with you. Also this live action was so freakin good, i think i'm gonna watch the whole thing :)
Smoker is the 1st logia type devil fruit user we are going to get introduce and
I really want to see in live action
I liked the finale, though I must admit that the Arlong fight didn't quite do it for me, there's a lot more emotional impact in the original with Luffy intentionally destroying Nami's room plus the comedy of Luffy not quite getting Arlong's boastfulness, think the final hit also felt too much like CGI with Arlong falling down to the bottom. Also no Usopp hammer or Usopp rubber band was a shame, same with Usopp having to convince himself not to run away.
But loved all the aftermath, the teases for Loguetown, Koby and Luffy parting ways again, everyone's reaction to the new bounty (Zeff putting it under Employee of the Month was a nice touch) and of course the barrel scene.
I hope for a Season 2 but man I do not envy the casting crew for that one; Ace, Crocodile, Bon Clay, Vivi, Tashigi, Crocus, he giants, Mr 3, and Hiriluk are hard enough to cast for, but you also gotta decide how you're gonna do Zoans, you'll have to consider whether we'll go with CGI or puppetry for Carue and Chopper, and you gotta somehow unearth the most beautiful woman on the planet to play Robin.
So, I'll say this right now, I was very, very, very uncertain that this would end up as good as it did. After they completely fumbled Cowboy Bebop, I thought this was for sure going to fail. But after watching it and seeing the actual care they put into making it not only crafting their own version, but making it just as fun and enjoyable as the original anime/manga, along with seeing everyone on the cast actually embracing their characters and having fun, I think the series is in good hands. So long as higher ups at Netflix doesn't butt in, we could be seeing the start of a great franchise and the spark that'll make One Piece popular in the west.
As for what I would want in a second season: 1. More episodes. While each episode is an hour long, I feel 10-12 episodes would be perfect for helping flesh out future locations and characters. 2. Improve on Luffy's Gum Gum effects. They were great in episode 8, but in prior episodes they definitely appeared a tad rough. 3. Try to include a few side characters. While I really liked episode 2, having the mayor and Chouchou reduced to cameos felt underwhelming. 4. Show us some of Garp's training with Koby and Helmeppo. I'm sure Oda wouldn't mind letting his fans see how intense his training sessions can be.
As an up to date Manga reader and Anime watcher of One Piece, this Netflix series smashed any expectations I had, they had to change the storyline to smooth out the pacing, which is fine. I have only ONE issue. The emotional scenes, mainly the back stories with Zoro asking for the sword and Sanji leaving the restaurant especially, felt underwhelming. I know you guys found it emotional but if you really do the comparison, there was no struggle shown in Zoro losing over and over training relentlessly and he asked for the sword in front of everyone, not on his knees in desperation begging for it in private for a heart to heart moment with his teacher balling his eyes out. When Sanji left it was like a military send off with every chef out to see him off, and the silence was broken by an unexpected kind word from his mentor which made sanji drop to his knees and bow in ultimate respect to him making even the stone wall of a dad figure he was shed a tear and smile, instead it was some words shouted from the back of a boat saying thanks for all he’s done. The most enjoyment i get out of One Piece are these built up moments, the moments of breaking, of overcoming something, of emotion. I just wish they nailed these scenes with much more care than they did. Again, they did very well aside from that. But its worth mentioning as nostalgia can cloud our eyes in these moments.
I found y'all's channel cuz of the one piece reactions and just wanted to say I appreciate you guys and how excited and real you guys are (from excited yells to straight up shedding tears). Love it!! Thanks for uploading these reactions!
Buggy got that Handsome Jack energy in this ep. SO LONG, KIDDOS!
Yeah when he was stuck as just a head it reminded me of Jack being a hologram stuck inside Rhys' head augments in Tales
The show is so good I pray they don ´t cancel it. We need to support it no matter what.
I personally like to interpret Garp madly laughing after his fight with luffy as a sort of "did you fucking reincarnate as *my* grandson to get one over me". I dont think thats the intent or even what Garp believes long term but just in that moment
The Arlong fight could have been better, but I’ll let it slide cause Netflix cut the season down from 10 to 8 episodes
Agreed. It absolutely needed 10 episodes. Their bias (which they admit) is definitely getting in the way of their reviewing arlong park, because I can't help but disagree that it's better than the anime. Arlong needed to fight more, especially with the other members of the crew just to show how strong he is. As a big fan, I didn't see that sort of presence here in the live action. He was sort of steamrolled. Arlong park felt the most rushed out of the entire show, and that's a bummer considering it's the climax of the east blue.
It's likely those two episodes would've been just Loguetown, so nothing would have changed
Logue town can be crunched to 1 episodes. Another 1 Episodes for reverse mountain with Crocus , Laboon an and Vivi introduction. 2 or 3 episodes episodes for Drum Island and Chopper and 3-4 Episodes for Alabasta as the finale. Alabasta need to have a good handling as this is one of the first big main arc where there are characters introduced here that will still be important for later on (Crocodile , Robin , Bon Clay).
What about Little Garden? I wouldn't be surprised if they put Drum and Chopper after Alabasta for the pacing. Maybe have them go there to treat Robin after Crocodile stabs her.
I was honestly thinking they would split it up into 2 parts. The whisky peaks and little garden are also pretty big parts (pun not intended) so maybe theyll split it. but then again its netflix so it'll probably just be another 8 episode season.
@@Viol_ation the budget will have to be tremendously big if they wanna go for 2 digits episodes not to mention all the crazy and whacky thing they have to CG or built by hands. One Piece LA budget is already one of the highest so if they go for 10+ episodes they'll have to ready to spend like Marvel level of budget which if they willing to go good for us but I don't think they will though for now so yeah.
@@kevinnosaurus793Isn't Marvel owned by Disney? I doubt Tomorrow Studios has that kind of budget since Disney has billions of dollars to spend.
Thank you guys for uploading your reactions this early!!! I thought you guys will upload it like weekly like other channels vut you guys didn't!!!! You guys are one of the best reaction channels I've known!!!!
17:38 it makes sense when Genzou said in the manga that only the Marines from the Grand Line can handle someone like a fish men. It makes someone like Garp can handle the clean up of Arlong. I wonder it would make sense if Garp left Nizumi in Coco village for reconstruction, after Garp leaves Nezumi and his Marines gets jumped, Nami giving them threats of returning her money. After, that Nezumi gets so pissed at Luffy and Garp, Nezumi puts the bounty on Luffy.
Hi Guys, I'm also a lover of Onepiece - Manga reader. Thank you for creating this reaction content to watching One Piece Live Action. I have been following and watching you since the first episode and continuing until this last episode. Why? because all the reactions and what you talk about are exactly the same as what I feel and think. It was so amazing, that I even cried in some scenes.
I want to share my opinion about some dialogues that are "easter eggs" and this is like a hint that this series will continue its season.
1. When Nami read the fairy tale 'Mont Blanc Noland'
2. When Zeff Mentioned 'Jaya'
3. When Nezumi told Arlong about one of the Sichibukai being a Fishman (Jinbe)
and it turns out you also discussed it. Hopefully there will be a long follow-up season.
The only thing I have a real problem with is how Coco Village didn't know what Nami was doing and just pretended they didn't know. Other then that one change I'm happy with this show sure there are a few nitpics I have but they don't lower the show for me at all.
Netflix could say "We will make season 2 but we have to wait for the strike to resolve." Or something to simular effect
Ok. As someone who has only seen the first 200 episodes of the anime so far, I'm so glad that y'all have clarified multiple times that it seems like they're mostly adapting the manga as compared the anime. And, I'm pretty sure y'all are right!
Also, I've been watching a sh*t ton of y'all's reactions for over a year now... My favorites being Avatar The Last Airbender and Spongebob so far. But now, this ENTIRE season is one I'm gonna have to add to the list now because of A) y'all's different insights and opinions in to this, and B) the fact that y'all were so open to this adaptation and were willing to not only give criticisms that y'all think are vaild, but they also didn't deter from first time viewers to One Piece who may have finally had the push to watch/read it from y'all's channel!
Also... y'all HAVE TO WATCH CASTLEVANIA!!!! It's one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ANIMES out there right now... And I'm sure they would LOVE IT as well!! I still feel like, to this day, that it's EXTREMELY underrated as an anime cause it's a Western produced/made anime so it has been kinda avoided more, but BELIEVE ME, y'all WILL NOT regret reacting to this one!!
I loved the confrontation between Garp and Luffy. It’s sort of what he does at Water 7, just without the info dump on Dragon, the Yonko, and the New World. And Garp uses Haki. I love the detail that when Garp tells Koby that his uniform seems to be fitting, that the uniform does actually look like it fits now. It’s no longer a baggy wrinkled messy. Seeing the dub over their dreams with the flashbacks was awesome! Zeff putting the poster under Employee of the Month is hilarious! I loved the scene between Shanks and Mihawk! And the Revolutionary Army tease in the Kaya scene. I loved the Smoker tease. Though I do think his role as the first “good Marine” we meet has been undercut a little by Garp because while Garp certainly hasn’t been “good” he definitely hasn’t been evil. Didn't they also cast Dragon? And who was on the bounty poster behind Alvida in episode 8? Im disappointed there was no reference to the other Worst Generation members. But that may be in season 2 when are actually in the Grand Line. If we do get more of Koby in season 2, I hope we see Garp's training regiment. Ruff, you know what I mean. I could see them cutting Alvida's fruit entirely because what does it add? It sort of just serves to say, she's no longer this obese ugly monster, which they didn't really do in the Live-Action. I want to see Kuma in the Live-Action.
- This has been Fantastic for a Live Adaptation for this series which seems to be mostly the East Blue Saga mixed with the “ Diary of Koby-meppo” & “Buggy’s Crew Adventure Chronicles” Cover stories, so I hope that they make a 2nd season which if they do another 8 episodes I can see them doing Logue Town to Drum Island or Alabasta
- Easter Eggs in this Episode:
- Notice on Usopp’s ketchup bottle it says “Boshi” which means Star & is what his attack names are
- Luffy brakes Arlong’s weapon the Kiribachi / Shark Saw just like in the manga / anime, but then he bent it just like how he did with Arlong’s nose
- While Zoro & Sanji are fighting & arguing you can see a octopus statue next to a tree this is a reference to Hachi
-Nami after the fight with Arlong is wearing an outfit based on the one she wore on the color spread of Ch.107
- The song as Nami leaves her mother’s grave & the ending is called “My Sails are Set” featuring Aurora
- Like the new papers in the manga & anime the live action continues where Oda puts some information in them with this one referencing the island of Vira was taken over by the Revolutionary Army along with is logo which was first mention in Ch.96 / Ep.45
- Notice next to Luffy’s poster in the Baratie is next to cards referencing Nojiko’s Tangerines, Sandra Lizard a species from Alabasta, & the mizumizu meat from Water 7 while on the left references recipes for a Tomahawk Spiny Lobster from Shokugeki No Sanji Ch.1
- When Buggy & Alvida meet you can see a Don Krieg wanted poster on the wall
- The barrel that the Straw Hats used to announce their dreams is the same one Luffy was in that being it is labeled with Gyoru the fishmonger from Windmill Village
- On the End Credit map you can see the Cozia Island the island that Sanji escaped from the Germa
- As we see Smoker you can see while he was looking at Luffy’s Wanted Poster (bounty is 30,000,000 Berries / Yen = $ 205,003.50) he was stacking stones a hobby of his
- Missing Characters: Marines Commander Ripper (he become base commander) & Lieutenant Junior Grade Rokkaku of Shells Town (but they might have been in Food Foo, Soro (Hemeppo’s pet wolf that Zoro killed), Poro (Bookstore Owner of Orange Town), Hocker (Chouchou’s owner), Richie the Lion, Superhuman Domingos, 1/3 of the Tightrope Walking Funan Bros (guys Nami tricks at the start), Gyoru (Windmill Village fishmonger which was referenced on the barrel), Chicken (Gyoru’s wife but they were probably see Shanks off in the flashback), the Usopp pirate members Carrot, Pepper, & Onion, Carne (Baratie cook), Batchee (bug that Fullbody uses), Roxanne (a female Baratie customer), Mummy Mee & Daddy Dee (houseparents of a World Government-affiliated orphanage at Conomi Islands), Sam (drunk Easter Egg), Teru (carpenter at Cocoyasi Village), Johnny & Yosaku, Nako (Cocoyasi village doctor, but Zeffirelli references him), Chabo (kid from the Gosa Village), Gaimon (he was referenced in Kaya’s garden, & Hachi (which I can see him coming into the story at Sabaody)
I saw some people saying the actor who played Shane in The Walking Dead would be perfect as Smoker, need to watch that show though
after seeing shanks interaction with Mihawk it really looks like a wild southerner meeting with a well-mannered northerner
I'm a fan of anime but never watched One Piece and was getting tired of shonen stuff, but this was amazing! The acting was pushed to the limit, the character stuff was so fascinating, heart breaking, and heartwarming and I love the over the top villains. Not sure if I'll go in for the anime, but definitely wanting to see scenes that show off some of these characters' best moments from it. Maybe will read the manga. Hope we get a second season!
WE NEED A SECOND SEASON.
The fact that the first season was handled with such care and respect gives me enough comfort that future seasons will be as well. Not to mention, a 2nd season would give them the opportunity to listen to criticisms from the fans and improve it. A large part of the cast and crew are so receptive to and even members of the One Piece community, so I wouldn't be surprised if they listen and improve.
My biggest issues
- Let some dramatic and lore dump moments play out with some visuals like the anime/manga.
- Fight choreo has to be quicker for Luffy and some moments for other characters. There's too much dead air between their attacks.
- Change/cut-down some of the corny/MCU-esque humor.
For ME, if they nail these issues, its as perfect as a One Piece adaptation can get.
Director Steven Maeda said they needed 10 episodes for not to cut some parts and Loguetown, but netflix gave them only 8 epsiodes for season 1. He said he was sad they could not fit loguetown in season 1.
I would imagine the "marine storyline" for season 2 would be Smoker and Tashigi, for me that would make the most sense. Especially, if Smoker is investigating Baroque works, and he only chases straw hats when he runs into them.
I have started One Piece right after I finished the OPLA cuz I couldnt get enough of it ! OPLA is soooo damn good I just dont know how many times I rewatched the whole season again and again and then I was like, fuck this, let's just start the anime, the sooner the better.
And the One Piece anime was really good. I dont know how many times I've been bawling my eyes out. And now I just finished the Alabasta arc.
For me as someone who never had interest of One Piece because of how long the anime is, I would never had thought that OPLA immediately change my mind completely. I started watching it all because I was bored and I was surprise by how hooked i was right after ep 2. It was sooo damn good. The actors are really doing an excellent job! Big kudos for them ! I can feel how much passion they put to make this works and I am soo happy it open up our eyes of how good the One Piece story telling are.
I really love your reaction ! It's been a fun times watching it again with you guys! Keep up the good work !!
GREAT NEWS! Oda officially confirmed the series getting renewed for Season 2!!!
I need them to recreate the finisher to croc next season, that Battle Axe gave me hope
I love that they ended with the barrel scene it's perfect and the tease of smoker was wild
Ikr!!! Started with the barrel and ended with the barrel! The parallels in the storytelling are good in this version.
As someone totally new to One Piece, I really loved season one and want season two ASAP. I'll likely also watch the anime now but only through the Arlong Park arc. And you guys were the best reactors to re-watch this season with!
I think they need to follow Smoker and Tashigi for a season 2. They could have a great arc where they are more involved in the pursuit of the Straw Hats all the way to Alabasta and have a great arc to show the marines being more corrupt by trying to hide Crocodile’s defeat.
As someone who never seen the anime my rating on This whole season I FREAKING LOVE IT I LOVE THE CAST THE WORLD THE FREAKING MUSIC LIKE ARLONGS MUSIC IS A BANGER like this is amazing and dare i say deserves some awards

funny, the live action covered almost the exact amount of story that i watched in the anime before I gave up anime because no fricking way I'm watching 1000 episodes... but let me tell you, after this.... i might do it, this was phenomenal and i want more, ASAP!
I'm starting to dare to have higher expectations for this masterpiece
this LA was so good to watch loved it so much, it made want to rewatch east blue saga in the anime
Garp gave Luffy the Fists of Love
2h ago Oda said there will be 2nd season!!!!!! LETS GOOOOOO
11:58 this aged WELL! The show is the best and most popular show from netflix this year breaking records and it has INSANELY good ratings on critics and audience. We got confirmed season 2 too FINALLY!
I loved how they added their own touch to it ❤❤
The writing part for season 2 is finished but filming won't start until after the strike
Ok, so I’m not a big one piece fan, I’m aware of it, watched a few episodes when it was in Cartoon Network, but I saw the teaser trailer and it got my attention, then watched the first official trailer and I made my mind up to give it a go, but what really excited me was watching hundreds of different reaction videos about the trailer and the sheer excitement I saw in virtually every video, from all over the world , so my brother (he is a big fan of one piece) just watched all 8 episodes and I’m very happy with what I saw, I loved Buggy and Garp, the main cast was perfect and the emotion was so real, I am 51 and I teared up several times, I really Hope season 2 happens and after each episode I watched your reactions to the episode I just watched, I’m excited for a possible season 2.
Justo think about season 2! We are going to see Smoker, Vivi, Chopper, Bon Clay, Crocodile AND FREAKING ACEEEEE! I think Loguetown can be 1 episode
Loguetown can make a perfect opening episode
I watched around 150 episodes of the anime, but I felt lost in all the side tracks and how long it took to get anywhere. This makes me want to go back and give it another try. Watching you guys makes me want to try the Manga!
I think they might hit us with even more plot surprises in upcoming seasons to deal with all the problems the Anime version would cause and there are a lot of possible problems. And I will do my best to seperate those stories. Like viewing it from the view of someone only seeing the show and as long as it works it is great. As long as it does give you the One Piece Feeling I take every change they make to even be able to release a show like this. This is a huge challenge for the producers to keep the success this show now has.
Anyway it was such an amazing feeling to see you react to all those episodes and to share your passion and love for it. The sails were set and we were coming home!
In a promotion they have a website to create your own wanted poster:
On June 29, 2023, a promotional website for the series was launched. Billed as the "Straw Hat Grand Fleet", the website features behind-the-scenes content as well as a section for creating custom wanted posters.
The fact that they gave Helmeppo that haircut (not the finished bowl cut, but it had strands here and there when it was first cut) that looked like Aurora's (the one singing in the vocals for Nami's song) is such a good nod
Just commented this on an earlier video, but since you asked, here you go☺️:
Non-fan here:
I binged the entire show on friday, and I really loved it. I think the colour and the adventure-vibes is gonna hit a sweet spot for a lot of people who is not familiar with the story already, because it brings you right back to that childhood-fantasy, but still has the stakes to keep your “grown-up” mind engaged. At least that’s what it did for me.
I’m not good with animation nor comics/manga. I cannot connect to characters in the way that I can with live action and novels, but I still have a huge respect for the art of it.
I honestly love that they have made this adaptation, because it gives me a chance to experience these vibrant, fun and really moving stories, despite not being able to connect with animation.
I’m just mentioning this because I see a lot people questioning, why you would adapt something when it won’t bring anything extra to the story. Just keep in mind that the same story in different formats will always bring something to someone, as long as it’s true to the heart of the original story and characters and only changes stuff where it’s gonna make it better in that specific format.
My family who has not yet watched the anime (and is not really a fan of anime in general ) LOVED the live-action!!! And it is making my sister want to start watching the anime because “everything is good!” so I would say it will have a season 2 for sure ❤
the song that plays at the end is song about the going merry but it was slightly played in 1 or 2 of Namis flash backs
If Season 2 gets the same 8-episode format the order I see happening would be:
- 2 episodes for Logue Town, Laboon, and Whiskey Peak
- 1 episode for Little Garden
- 2 episodes for Drum Island
- 3 episodes for arabasta
All in all it's tough. I struggle to comprehend how Arabasta can be adapted into 3 episodes. If Baratie and Syrup Village both got 2 episodes respectively, I cannot see Drum Island being any less. Those 2 arcs alone dominate the second seasonal runtime.
Imagine how Chopper's gonna look like considering he'll have way more screentime than the other CGI creatures seen in season 1
I genuinely feel like they have to get some don bluth level muppetry to even make it to water 7. They can’t have major characters need cgi, it’d prevent them from being onscreen. Brook and Franky need to be practical too, anything long form needs to be practical just incase budget runs low.
@@Fanatic_Foremem Big Metal Arms like Franky’s can’t feel like cardboard or else it’ll look like a cosplay. Wonder how they’re gonna pull off all this, hopefully they do it justice.
@@masaki2904 I said practical not cheap. Why would they make cybernetic elements out of cardboard, they’d make them after the same stuff any long lasting prosthetic costuming uses.
@@Fanatic_Foremem Yeah hopefully
Nice reaction! Bruh Mihawk reminds so so much of lucifer from the same name show lucifer its crazy 😂
I already watched the series and I spent days watching these guys reaction it's like watching with friends, the comment, the hipe all just spot on. Live long guys !
Love y’all’s reactions!
Loved you guy’s reaction to all the episodes! Such great fans of One Piece!
I've never seen anything One Peice before this show but I thought it was handled incredibly well. Watching fans like you proves that! They managed to condense the story while still acknowledging cameos and easternmost for things they had to leave out. I never would've noticed but watching you guys pick up on things and fan out over it proves to me that they did a great job.
On one hand, I'm hopeful we'll get a season 2 because this adaptation has such good quality; on the other hand, Netflix has a history for cancelling their shows when they're too good
Exhibit A: They cancelled "Inside Job"
Season 2 Storyline Theory:
Lougetown 2 episodes and ends with going up the / down reverse mountain (will see Bartolomeo or at least his green mohawk)
Laboon will be merged with Whisky Peck and could be 1 episode
Little Garden 2 epsidoes
Drum Island 1 episode
Alabasta 3 episodes
Total 9 episodes
Drum Island will probably be 2 episodes
@@lilveltheplayer2164 Yeah it makes more sense from Drum Island to get 2 instead of Little Garden.
Has to be the best anime adaptation ever put to screen.
I REALLY wonder what rheyre gonna do with Chopper. And seeing how much more brutal Robins gonna be in S2 will be great! S2 HAS to be Alabasta, right?
It has been renewed!!! And the script is written!!! They said they’ll start filming whenever the strike ends then we’d get it like 18 months from there!!!
The fact this is the best live action of a anime I've ever seen is just amazing small details were beautiful but there were some things i wished happened like the dog protecting its owners house from buggy but it makes sence that they didn't do it and i wanted to see his buggy booms in action but it's whatever they did a great job can't wait until season 2
I would argue that some good scenes were left out and rushing limits a lot what they can do in the future, but this was the best way they could've done it. personally I do think that less fighting scenes and for example usopp almost running away from fear could be more interesting to see/ I feel sad that it didn't make into the show, but the target audience would 100% prefer the fight scenes, so it makes total sense. It's also interesting how much light this new version gives to characters like mihawk, who were more misterious and got forgotten for some time and now are more important and impactful in the events. overall it's great, and it sets a new precedent for live action and more people will give a chance to it on the future.
