    I would have gotten my fingers broken for using the middle finger for F# so much! Oh, how times have changed!!!!

      My flute teacher in college (when I was working on my Masters) would agree. Not being a flute player, I had gotten
      used to playing the # middle finger fingering and she changed my way of thinking to the ring finger. To this day
      I use the right hand ring finger for F # unless there's a technical advantage to use the middle finger. I believe
      that is the basic rule- only use middle fingering for # if there is a technical advantage. The intonation and tone
      is better when using the ring finger F#.
