About This Episode:
Cambodia is not for the feint of heart. This place, especially the main tourist areas are intense as hell with nonstop yelling from aggressive salespeople doing their best to hustle for some cash.
My fondest memories of Cambodia were in the countryside and more specifically in this small village. I met so many friendly people with no agenda other than to satisfy their curiosity as to why the heck this giant foreigner was on their turf.
Dani, my guide in Siem Reap, is cooking up a local classic, Prahok which is made using Cambodian Cheese. This cheese is actually fish that's been fermenting for over one year. Now let's see if Dani can actually make this taste good. Ready? Go.

some explaining. The reason why we have such ingredients with strong flavor together is to balance out the flavor of the rice. In the past, by doing this we can save some expense on the side dishes in a country where foods are not easily gather.

Thank you dear. I think it takes a lot more than that. People like Mark Weins get huge cause they report on foods everyone is searching for. That's why I'm starting to do a mix or normal and off things.
IDK, Look at bizarre foods. that had a huge following. I know I dont watch him because its food I would like to eat. I do not like many fish have a shellfish allergy and I am not into spicy foods anymore (stomach is not as good as it was before). I am not exactly sure why I watch him. Maybe because he travels to so many places and shows them off. I subbed to you because of your personality and you tried strange things. I use to love bizarre foods. I could never eat the stuff he did but its kinda cool to see someone else do it. the only meat I eat is beef pork chicken and turkey. I had deer and hate it. (My Ohio is showing.. haha.. except for deer meat) Your reactions are also great. I think the issue is you need more exposure. I almost messaged the food ranger to remind him of doing a colab with you yesterday. my only advice would be try to make your videos a little longer like this one. I don't think I would change much about what you do. be yourself. you just need people to click on your videos. once people do they will subscribe. maybe more catchy titles or odd thumbnails. I did not mean to write a book

I am Cambodian. Thanks for this wonderful video. I really like it. Prahok is my favorite. There's another raw recipe of prahok without red ants. It's my favorite. We use raw prahok with ferroniella lucida. The taste is amazingly savory. You should try it. Highly recommended! Thank you.

I love your great sense of humor in your delivering your opinion and appreciating our authentic food, especially prohok. This fermented and preserved fish has a very pungent smell and taste, yet it’s one of the best food out there if you know how to prepare it well. It is an acquired taste, but truly our authentic food that put in many of our dishes such as curry and soups. The female hostess she is so genuine and delightful to watch. Love her. 👍👍. Best Ever Food Review Show
Yeah they use the fermented fish in the bowl of noodles called Bun Nuoc Leo, or Bun Mam and it definitely tastes amazing if you can get used to the smell. It has shrimp and fish, also a bit of meat. Bun Nuoc Leo and Bun Mam is slightly different cause the latter is just seafood. Also the fermented shrimp paste is really salty, it's either called mam tom or mam ruoc. People usually add this paste into the bowl of noodles called Bun Rieu, my favorite ❤
Have seen something vaguely similar in Vietnamese delis, an egg cake with a bunch of shrimp paste in it. Looks like the popular Vietnamese meatloaf (?). You can easily smell it through the Saran wrap... I remarked on this once and the people laughed and said "Wait 'till you heat it up!". Tried it. Woof! Made sense as a small part of a meal with rice, you don't need to eat much of it. Coming soon: Stinky food tour! ??? Maybe there's a special street or alley just for that? BEFR ("BEEFER") show could be the first to show it!

@milixe1 it illegal to fly the drone for a few place in cambodia. maybe he flow it around royal palace, government build or embassy. beside that he can fly it anywhere.
