It all goes towards helping me create the best bass lessons I can for you!
Many thanks,
𝄢Dan 🙏 - Hudba
I remember getting Jaco’s first album shortly after I graduated from college. Incredible.
I was fortunate to see Jaco three times, twice with Weather Report and once with Word of Mouth BB. The first time totally altered the way I felt about playing bass ( I have attempted to master bass since the 1960’s) and came as a complete revelation. Thanks for the lesson which at least pointed me in the direction of understanding some of his techniques. There will never be another Jaco:- other wonderful players have fabulous techniques but ( for me) I have never heard another player with his musicality, even when he played something relatively simple ( e.g. “ a remark you made”)
You’re very lucky - I’d have loved to see him live!
@@OnlineBassCoursesI also caught Jaco in the very early 80s.He was unfortunately in his cups that night and pretty out of it.Still I was up close to the stage with the rest of the bass players and still he had us slack jawed with moments of brilliance. You played this line awesome if I may say so.I'm slowly getting it up to speed.
Your channel is one of the best thing the CZcams algorithm has recommended to me. Brilliant channel! All that technique and speed on a fretted bass is difficult, on fretless is monstrous.
Thanks so much - glad you found me! With a bit of practice, it starts to feel surprisingly normal.
Thanks so much for this lesson, Dan, excellent as always and delivering the necessary guidance superbly!
Thanks very much - I appreciate that!
Thnak you, really enjoyed the detail of this great groove.
Hi Dan, Thank you for all the time you are investing in us. Really appreciate.
You’re welcome. 🙏🙏
Another superb lesson Dan. You really are the best bass teacher. I learn so much from your lessons - and I’ve been playing for 49 years 😎
I’m really happy you’re still learning, Andy. That’s very inspiring to me!
Awesome Dan
Thanks
very good thank you , i like this type of lesson
Great breakdown. Jacos ghost noting technique was amazing. Thanks
It really was. 🙏
Great video, thanks
Amazing video and recompilation of techniques, congrats 🎉
🙏🙏
Thanks to for you content 🙏🙏
Well done, Dan! What about a short lesson on rolling technique? Still some kind of a small nightmare to me (and maybe I’m not the only one..😃)
I think I have that lesson somewhere on my channel… message me if you can’t find it!
Thanks 👍
That intro!!!
Wow!!
Thanks, Bertrand! 👍🙏
Thanks Dan, these techniques are very helpful and I would like to see more of it.
Lots more coming up…
So glad I found your channel.Very good stuff!
Welcome to my channel!
THAAAAANK YOU 😍!!!!!
Very cool, as always.
Cheers, Eugene.
Thanks Dan. Loved this one. More jaco please.
Noted. Many thanks.
Thanks Dan much appreciated 👍🎸🎶🎵
Cheers, Paul!
Jaco, a one of a kind and his playing was obviously phenomenal. However, I think the thing that set Jaco apart was his imagination and how he wrote his bass lines to both enhance and support the melody line.
Dan, this was a great video which covered as intimidating a subject as any how-to music subject...
"How to sound like Jaco!"
You did a helluva job breaking down some of Jaco's signature pieces and parts! Classic, simply classic!
Thanks, Paul! Yeah, possibly easier to avoid but there’s just too much good stuff for as all in there.
@@OnlineBassCourses No need to reply but I'm really enjoying your channel, thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience. Take care and be well!
@@paulsimmons5726 you too!
I love your teaching
Much appreciated - thanks for watching!
Just discovered your channel. Really well explained and demonstrated. Great audio quality as well! Best wishes!
Thanks very much!
great lesson as always -- that fretless jbass sounds sweet!
Thanks, Matt. I really like it!
You really captured it!
🙏
Hey DUDE, I loved the lesson! I'm new, just channel surfing a bit, and came across this. You are SO easy to listen to, I can just sit and let you (ramble?) _continue_ on talking about bass theory and practice, etc, etc. Really amiable and pleasant chap! Knowledgeable, too. OK, I liked and subscribed. Ready for the next one. Oh and BTW, thank you for putting the time and effort into these videos. I know it's a lot of work and I know that there are many more than just me who take the time to tell you how much we appreciate what you do. Thank you, from all of us!!!
Hey, one more thing: That bass you play in this vid, I built one (pretty much) EXACTLY LIKE IT! Bass Ass bridge, Squire Jazz body, Mighty Mite maple neck, Schaller tuners and Audere preamp. Don't know if that matches what you're playing, but damned if it don't LOOK just like mine.
Thanks so much, James, that’s so kind of you to say!
I bought this bass second hand from a shop in Singapore. I know nothing about it apart from I like how it sounds and plays!
How sweet this is your original.
I get the jaco n joe dart influence. Trying to teach myself jacos No Slack. Heard others versions but not quite it. Concider doing this one?
🙏 I’ll check it out - don’t know that one.
Hi Dan, I really enjoy your channel. I am learning how to implement articulation in my playing and I appreciate your emphasis on these techniques. Please make more videos on Jaco's techniques. Also, what were you running your sound thru on this video? It sounded very cool, somewhat different than your previous videos.
Thanks, Eric - one more about to go live later… it’s the same set up, just with a fretless Jazz bass (with flats). That accounts for the different tone.
Jaco is our bass bible
👊
Dan what scales use on this track?
Mostly minor pentatonic and a bit of Dorian.
What bass model is this?
Fretless Fender Jazz.
great lesson, however... would you just play complete passages without stopping and talking so much.... VERY difficult to follow
It’s a tutorial. There’s also a handy rewind and pause feature on CZcams.
Arrrrghh…do u forget to talk about THE Bass ? 👀 / Greetings…..
Which bass?? 👋
@@OnlineBassCourses the Jaco-like !
@@michaelkailus6021 ah, yes! I think I’ll do a full video on it soon. Plus my entire bass collection. I always love watching those videos but assume people won’t like my version! Even though I’ve got some incredible basses…
