    I bought an addiesdive quartz versión ( Starbucks version) for 30 bucks on aliexpress. I was blown away by the quality and the lume is on another level, im going to pull the trigger for the nh35 smurf color.
    This stuff is very addictive

    @dunderhay9169 Před rokem +6

    These homages really do give you 80% of the watch for 1% of the cost. A stainless Submariner homage with nh35 should tell the time accurately enough for most people, be reliable and waterproof enough to go swimming. Yes the Rolex will feel nicer in hand, and be more acourate still, but the service will cost 5 times the homage. You are right, checking you like that style of watch before spending thousands is a very sensible suggestion.

    Merely 5 years ago we had only Invicta Pro-Diver in this league. Mineral crystal, questionable quality, price tag closer to 200$. Nowadays? Cadisen, San Martin, Steeldive. Sapphire galore, great quality. What a time to live.

    I think the chase is definitely what does it for most people. That dopamine response you get from seeing the branding everywhere and imagining how cool you'll feel wearing it, and then finally the journey to saving up bit by bit until its yours. Once you have it it's no longer magnificent though.
    This is just my opinion of course, but over the course of the last few months owning many different types of watches, I've come to the conclusion that the average working class person should heavily consider $500-1000 Swiss made micro brand watches, $1000-2000 heavily discounted Frederique Constant, B & M or TAG Heuer, or at the utmost a Tudor. Tudors are actually a really solid grail for the average person, but arguably they're also not great value for money. I can sort-of fathom the price of a Tudor BB58 on the used market though.
    IMO, the ultra-wealthy should skip Rolex and just head straight for true high horology. When a watch is so unique and impressive that it's damn near impossible to homage, and so unique that few watchmakers are skilled enough to assemble it, that's when your watch can be worth whatever it's worth.

    As an Hulk hommage owner I can say I love wearing it and it just confirmmed my commitment to get the real deal in the future. Great Cadisen and great video!

    I purchased in the black. Have to agree with your views, for the money it is exceptional. Even the AR coating is on point.

    I got the Cadisen Yachtmaster hommage in orange, the Neptune series. Aside from uneven lume, what a watch, so good for the money. Excellent review btw

    I just ordered the Black version this watch for $79. It seems like it will be a nice watch for the money. This will be my first watch with an on the fly adjustable clasp. Thanks for the video.

    Instead of one million watches, Rolex are going to produce more than two million watches per year by building a new factory. All Rolex watches are all made by hand🤣. All the marketing of Rolex is a big scam, and people believe in it.🤣

    • @dainluke
      @dainluke Před 11 měsíci +3

      Yeah literally. I said this same thing. Tudor literally showed their factory on YT and yet no one puts two and two together. How on Earth can Rolex hand-assemble, or even partially handle assemble, 1-2 million watches per year. However, I almost feel like the stat in and of itself is BS and that they actually intentionally limit supply like what some tech brands have started doing. Rolex have some nice branding and some really cool designs, and I'm sure once upon a time owning one made one feel proud. These days I don't know.

    The Steeldive SD1953 is a better Sub homage, with 300m WR and great lume for less money.

    Great video well done. I buy a watch because it looks nice and preferably different. I’ve got beautiful watches from £200 to 1500 max at the moment. I also wait and hunt for huge discounts just so the dealer takes a chunk of the watches depreciation. This was the case with my limited edition of 100 Meistersinger Primatik 365. Retail price £2300 I grabbed it at £1230 😂😂😂 Stunning watch

    Honestly, if everyone went the homage route before considering the 'real thing:, many, many fewer people would get into debt they really can't afford. For a watch.
    I used to spend a lot of money, but now I get such pleasure from Pagani Design and suchlike.
    And there are great benefits - I retired a few weeks ago and I have money in the bank.
    I love watches. But they are NOT important.

    Anyone critical of homage watches should know that the two most iconic watches of all, the Omega Speedmaster and Rolex Submariner, are copies of the Rodania Chronograph and Breitling 50 Fathoms.

    I have a few Cadisen watches and they are quality, I was on holiday the other week and someone was wearing a rolex and they let me look at it and the feel of the watch felt no different to my Cadisen, there is no way I'm ever gonna purchase a rolex they are seriously over priced

    It’s true about the thrill of the chase. I got an Omega Snoopy in about a year and it’s a bit of an anti-climax. Now what? I did buy a couple Omegas that I really like in the process. I like my Globemaster and Globemaster Annual Calendar much more.

      I’ve always wanted a snoopy though..

    Giving off mad Smeagol vibes, all you were missing was the "my precious." I highly recommend grabbing an homage to see what the watch will look like. What most will find is, well, as you said, it's just a hunk of metal; lol won't stop you from buying it, but hey, at least you'll have that sanity check, and now you know you've lost it 😅
