23kg!!! Crikey that's a heavy load to take to the border ridge. Tent looked spot on mind, it's a nice stable design. Great vid, I enjoyed it, been a good few years since I last pitched up that way. TFS :)
Cheers Donna, it was a bit of a struggle. Good job it was only about 2-3 miles from the car. Loving the tent, really easy to put up as well. Going trim down my load the next time🏕️👍
Sorry I don't know your name But Thank You for Subscribing to my channel I haven't been out in a while but hopefully should be back later this year with some more content, what Cracking Area to Hike and wild camp really enjoyed the video but 28kg pack weight you did very well hauling that all the way up well done, Keep safe and well, Les.
Good spot to camp mate, last time I was up the cheviots, I had a brew in the shelter it’s ideal to get out of them notorious cheviots winds, tent looked spot on, plenty of room for them long winter nights, nice one, atb Mick 👍
Cheers Mick it was a cracking camp. The refuge hut and the one at Lamb Hill are great places for lunch when the weather is a bit rough. Thanks for watching 👍
Hi, great videos. I’ve been looking at the scorpion 2 for ages. I’ve got the ionosphere and love it for summer. It’s inner first and no porch. On the scorpion 2 flysheet is there double zips? Can they be opened from the top? Just considering for venting while cooking inside.
Thanks for watching. I haven’t used my Scorpion 2 for a while and I can’t remember if the zip opens from the top to form a vent or not. I think it might not but I’m not too sure. With regard to pitching, I just leave the inner permanently attached so it pitches as one.
Last night was a really good camp. We chose the spot as the forecast was for high winds so stayed next to the refuge in case a tent failed. I carry too much stuff that I don’t use but might need so I’ll have to cut down for the next trip. Love the camping but not the sorting gear out when I get home 👍
I like the mat apart from when it comes to taking the plug out as it is too tight, especially with cold numb fingers. Nearly smashed my teeth getting it out yesterday morning. Loving the tent so far 👍
@@cheviotoutdoors ouch crikey thats not good. I just struggle to get any comfort from the mats, tried a few and loathed to part with the sort of money they want for a thermarest
@@jmack8274 my main issue is the inflatable pillow, I end up chasing it around the tent all night. I’ll either try securing over my mat with a T-shirt or will get one of the ones with a strap

I love the Cheviots and they are nice and close for me. My pack was only 23kg but was still a struggle. Looking forward to your new content 👍

How do you find the alpkit mat? could never get comfy on mine. Tent looks really good, sturdy and up against some big competition as well!

@@cheviotoutdoors I sleep with my arms out of any duvet or bag so its the width for me. Think I need a Big Agnes!
