    My parents lived on Hoover Street just south of Fremont St in Las Vegas when they started with above ground atomic bomb testing. My mom used to say that the blast was so powerful that the curtains would blow completely horizontal. The bombs were detonated when the wind was traveling away from Las Vegas. Unfortunately, St George was considered collateral damage. Not only the people in the movie suffered but also the good people of St George had unusually high amounts of people with cancer, after the test. For those people who refuse to believe OUR government would use it's own population as guinea pigs look no further than the Tuskegee experiment and here at the atomic testing grounds. Growing up, even I recall many test but by that time they were underground and would shake the ground like an earthquake. We had no idea that they were also poisoning the ground water. The extent of the damage done to innocent humans may never be fully known. Thanks BB, for another great story of death.

  • @TheSourKraut
    @TheSourKraut Před 2 lety +13

    Being buried is already an uncomfortable thought, because after a certain time you may just end up in some abandoned lot, nobody left who had enough of a connection to care for the grave, yet I'm in a box, inside another box, just waiting for... vandals? Road construction? Who knows?
    But being stored in a shelf, in a building that WILL eventually fall victim to time and hoodlums, as we've seen in many videos, is actually a horrifying thought.
    No, I don't want to be a burden to anybody after I'm done here, but I also don't want my body to become some trash or souvenir, so cremation it is. Then, whoever cares can keep me in a jar until they don't care anymore, and then just dump me out in the wind somewhere nice.
    I never understood the practice of keeping a dead body around. Yes, maybe for a short time, but make it where it basically composts back into nature, not pump them full of toxic chemicals and double box them. All people see anyway is the marker. No actual corpse is needed.
    In HER case, if she disliked all the attention and publicity, it feels a bit disrespectful to keep her on display like this.
    That's just me thinking out loud.

    FUN FACT: did you know that Agnes Moorehead had a foster son named Sean. She fostered him as a young boy. Saun was a very rebelous child who did not want to follow rules that Agnes lade out for him. In later years Agnes grew distant from her son because of his rebelous nature, and the fact that he did not grow up to be a conservative christian. Being the daughter of a Presbyterian minister, Christianity was important to Agnes. She tried to mold Sean into a conservative Christian, but when he did not turn out that way, she disowned him when he turned 18, and she left him out of her will. She stipulated in her will " i do not have any biological children" " i do not have any adopted children".

Everyone was inhaling the dust from the horses and if I'm not mistaken, some of the horses became ill and died/had to be put down during and/or after filming as well. Great job Lamont 👍🏻. You weren’t the only kid that didn’t like watching Bewitched. You always do a superb job on your videos, giving facts. How tragic of Ms. Agnes’ demise, my heart feels for her Mom having to bury her children. May their memories be blessed.

    She was a devout Christian who often carried her Bible on the set of Bewitched.

      I noticed her Dad was a Reverend. Kinda weird she'd play a witch. I watched the show as a kid but became Christian in my 20s and really noticed how much of this show has dark undertones. I bet her Dad had a fit! Good thing she brought a Bible 🙂

    This was informative Lamont.
    I never missed Bewitched. I had no idea she didn't like her character. On the other hand, I can't blame her for how she felt about her fame, & everyone recognizing her for this role...
    But not the others. It sure did make her famous though.
    RIP Agnes ❤

    During filming for the Conqueror, the studio had truckloads of sand from the filming location brought back to LA for pickup shots. God only knows how many others were exposed to that contaminated sand once it was brought back to LA. 60 tons of that radioactive sand was brought back to LA, then scattered in an industrial area of Culver City where the pickup shots too place. Never mind residents in the area. An absolute nightmare.

    "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? Only the Shadow knows." My Mom forced my teenage sister and I, to listen to recordings of those broadcasts in the 1980's when we went on road trips. You could say they were the early version of the Audiobook. It would not surprise me if she still has those cassette tapes.

    Vincent Price was an actor who starred in horror films. He also was the speaking voice in Michael Jackson's song and video " THRILLER." I grew up around a lot of Hollywood Actors back throughout the 1970's to 1981 while living in San Diego and Los Angeles and Vincent along with Shelly Winters, Lucille Ball, Henry Fonda, Desi Arnaz, and others were all down to earth who loved to do pranks on all of my siblings and friends.
