A remarkable true story of tenacity, friendship and the triumph of the human spirit, NYAD recounts a riveting chapter in the life of world-class athlete Diana Nyad. Three decades after giving up marathon swimming in exchange for a prominent career as a sports journalist, at the age of 60, Diana (four-time Academy Award nominee Annette Bening) becomes obsessed with completing an epic swim that always eluded her: the 110 mile trek from Cuba to Florida, often referred to as the “Mount Everest” of swims. Determined to become the first person to finish the swim without a shark cage, Diana goes on a thrilling, four-year journey with her best friend and coach Bonnie Stoll (two-time Academy Award winner Jodie Foster) and a dedicated sailing team.

Just watching this trailer brought tears. These two women are so brilliant, such great actresses, and together - what a powerhouse this film should be. "Older women" are still achieving miracles, artistic, athletic ones. We must not forget that.

Anything with Annette Bening and Jodie Foster together is worth watching, even if they don’t get an Oscar. It’s more about the film than an Oscar. And it’s based on a true story! ❤❤

I wish but wouldn’t count on it. First, it’s on Netflix. Second, Cillian Murphy isn’t even going to be nominated for Oppenheimer because of the new (ridiculous) “diversity rule”…. Meaning only so many white people (men. Or women) can be nominated and if there are too many white contenders they replace them for someone diverse. I wish I was kidding. The woke thing has gotten out of control

I met Diana Nyad in Key West where I was living when she did her awesome swim. My sister was dying of cancer and I asked her for her autograph and ANY inspirational words. She said ..Find a way to not give up. My sister recently passed away but she managed to find a way to keep on fighting till the very end.
What a fun pair. Can’t wait to see what they can do together.
