    Wonderful performance of an extraordinary work! I like the work being put into proper German pronunciation of the Latin, thank you for not going the "easy" Italianate way :-)

      Why did Maurice Skones leave PLU? I met him at Paul Christiansen choral camps in MN.

    Beautiful rendering. The penultimate chord sounds half-diminished, and the urtext score has Ab-minor. I like the half diminished more!

      Interesting. My score also has the half-diminished chord. It looks like the only difference is in the alto part in choir 2, resolving from F to E-flat, rather than from A-flat to G. I rather like it.

    this seems slightly flatter than Eb, maybe a D rendition?? but regardless, impressive, since they didn't even appear to have a pitch pipe!

    • @musicaveranyc1874
      @musicaveranyc1874 Před 3 lety

      They are just very slightly below E flat. It's not a D rendition. They are just flat by like 10-15 herz. You notice when they retune at Sanctus they get closer to the correct pitch. They never come close to D.
