I'm an audiophile and a drummer (kinda). I absolutely cherish this music and Simon's drumming. I was a bit depressed when Simon parted ways with Toto, but one door closes and another opens. It just means he has more time to be involved in other endevours (like this). Keep it coming Simon - you are brilliant!...and your supporting cast aren't too bad either haha. Cheers!

Man that drumkit sounds great in that studio. The whole band has such a sharp tight sound. Love seeing the younger guys so enthusiastic and jamming out with the seasoned guys. So much talent in this group. Would love to see live one day!

BRILLIANT! It was so cool to learn that everyone 'got into music' as I did. Seven years of classical Piano starting at age 4, moved on to Trumpet for middle and high school, picking up drums (self taught) from there. Played in a very good 'progressive rock' band for several years. LOVE IT! Thanks, Simon.

Simon, this is a great band. I go back when you were the Drummer for the rocks pebbles and sand project with Stanley Clarke. I have been a Fan for over 40 years. The Protocol bands projects are great bands. A very orchestrated tight sound. Similar to the Chick Corea Electric band sound. Thank you Sir for this great music.

What a wonderful film. I was privileged to see the band perform twice on Cruise to the Edge a few weeks ago and it was definitely the musical (and spiritual!) highlight of the cruise. Such immense musicianship playing music that takes the listener on a journey and leaves you in a higher place, believing that with art like this there is hope for the world. At times I had tears in my eyes. It was so moving and beautiful to hear live. I immediately bought the album on my return and am enjoying it immensely. it was also great to chat with Simon on the boat on a couple of occasions, which was a thrill as he's been my favourite drummer (actually I should say musician) for the past 40 years plus. I like the Art Blakey comparison and remember seeing Art many years ago with a young band. This is music that will live on and inspire many for years to come. Thank you Simon!

I love this latest Protocol album so much. The band is such a wonderful "unit" now, working so brilliantly together, inspiring each other and the listener. The 1 + 1 = 3 arithmetic of Alex and Jacob playing in unison shines so bright. I'm confident this album will continue to enthral, fascinate and excite me for years to come. Bravo Simon and all the band members!

So, about three years ago I finally admitted to myself that I listened to drums mostly and preferred music that had hard-hitting bass drums in the mix. So, when I found my end-game loudspeakers, the ADS 910, with dual-10" bass drivers built into their own enclosures in the cabinets, one of the first albums I played through them was the first Protocol album. When Mr. Phillips hit the bass and kick drums and I had the volume cranked a bit, it felt like the concrete foundation was going to crack. Now, these 910s, just like most of the ADS L-series two and three-way loudspeakers are known for their very neutral presentation, which I agree they do present that, and really, it's just that the 910s bring every drop of bass output from the source into the room.
Anyway, I just want to say that every one of the Protocol albums has been exactly what I crave in prog-rock/jazz albums, and the Protocol V is extremely well-produced and I can hear the upgraded resolution. Thanks for such great recordings to Simon Phillips and all the musicians in the band.

A new step in sound engineering. I saw your performance last Sunday at the Boerderij, Zoetermeer, Holland and it was great. Also your pronouncation of the word BOERDERIJ 🙂 Great musicians thanks.
