Any relation to RoadKill with David freiburger?
I fell for getting “POLISHED KNOBS” once before.
I still say this was one of the best resurrection series I’ve watched, I can’t believe how great that trucked turned out, Kevin is definitely jealous 😂
I concur with that !
Yup
Absolutely agree! The truck is great
Can’t agree more! Makes you feel like you can do actually that sort of thing
Can’t agree more! Makes you feel like you can do actually that sort of thing
“The internet says this truck is unrestorable and that’s why we’re going to restore it!” We need to keep Pole Barn Garage up to these challenges. Great job Dalton,I’d be proud to drive this gem.
Yessir!!
I have to say that whenever I recommend someone this channel. I recommend this series, because anyone who can take that rusty pile of sheet metal, and turn it into what it is today should not only earn my respect, but the whole of the internet's. The future unlike burned out halogen bulbs is very bright!!
Every episode I can't believe there could be a worse project to work on, but you always seem to find one. For that, I commend you Dalton. Well done 👍
I don't know how many places I saw where I would have been stopped dead and utterly clueless as to how to proceed!
Brother, you really are a credit to the car community, its obvious you really know your stuff and how things should be done but also realise that cars need to be driven. The Silver Dollar Chevy really is proof of yours and JD's abilities and passion. Great job boys. 🤘👍
Ahhh. “The Saga of the Silver Dollar Chevy” What a fantastic movie! The story of a man with true grit and determination, great skills, and a bit of money, taking a K10 destined for the grave and transforming it into a Mecum Auction ready work of art!!! 5 ⭐️s
Clearly a viewer of culture and refinement 👌🏻🤘🏻🇺🇸
K10*
Partially true. Anybody can spray paint over rust.
@@tiekbaneNot just anybody can do what he did and you know it.
@@tiekbaneA'ight, we'll patiently wait here for your resto completion.
One of the best episodes by far! Incredible how that turned out.
i miss the gran torino content😪😪😪
Excellent resurrection on this rusty old square body. Just further proof REAL men don't need overpriced $80k trucks when diehard fellas like you bring these trucks back to life. Looks 100% top notch! 👍
The Silver Dollar is a legend! All the hard work was worth it; you saved a unique rig from extinction!
Not a square body guy at all, but i watched every minute (now twice!) of you turning that junker into a jewel - very satisfying and inspiring! Not sad at all that you sold it - you’ve passed the torch…really enjoy your channel!
Thanks!
@@PoleBarnGarage sad to see the silver dollar chevy go.
@@SpaceGamblerJRDon't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.
I'm a die hard Ford guy, but watching you and JD put that square body back together is inspiring to the car hobby we hold dear. Excellent work as always, Dalton!
You brought the Silver Dollar Chevy back from the grave, showed it more love than the fellas that built it on the line, and made sure it went to a good home.
Hell yeah that’s what the car hobby is all about.
Have I seen all the videos? Yes. Am I watching this compilation? Also yes.
The end tells what happened to the truck!
You did a lot of work on a truck that probably would have be considered a parts truck by most people. This truck was my introduction to your channel and I'm glad to be here. It's good to see it finished and getting a new life. I can't wait to see what's coming up next.
I love that this was a Grandfather, Son, and Grandson project. This makes me wish I knew even more about fixing up old cars to share with my son.
That wasn’t a resurrection that was a resuscitation. Beautiful job Dalton and JB
Man what a great video, watched all the episodes of the silver dollar chevy but seeing it all come together in one long video was great! Glad it went to a good home cannot wait for the 4x4 van video been following along on FB posts very excited to see the outcome!
my favorite series on youtube for a long time now! would sit down with my dinner and force my fiance to watch with me every time a new episode would come out - you inspired me to start hunting for my own junkers to get out on the road again. The only problem is i fall in love with every one i get 😭
You did one hell of a job on that truck looks great you would never know it was a rust bucket congratulations on it
Thank ya
Wow, I didn't think I'd be saying goodbye to the Silver Dollar truck all of that sudden... At least it's going to someone who'll treasure it.
This goes to show that you should never throw anything away, never know when you might need it 😅
That kid will be the coolest kid in school with that truck. Thanks for another awesome video.
True That!
Longer videos aren't bad. It's more like watching a movie.
So Im guessing that silver dollar is worth more than the square body? But those light weight racing fenders are the bomb! Must save 50 lbs or more. And the flow thru ventilation in the cab is definitly a highly sought after factory option. Great score!
Loved this one! Hate it had to go so quickly. Would have like to see you and your son ride it and keep it! I love it when old cars/trucks actually get painted, even if it is tractor paint. One of the best attributes about your channel! There are so many channels going through mechanics and doing will it runs but not ever doing that final touch. Great vid
Being in NY, all we have is rust buckets of junk. It’s inspiring knowing how bad off a truck can be and still be restored by a skilled hand! Love the videos!
I'm shocked he dare restore it with that much effort. It started off at Kevins place as like a what - $400 truck? Basically most people would take out the engine and rims off and throw the rest away.
I literally just finished watching the playlist on this build again. Loved it.
The end of this one shows what happened to the truck
@@PoleBarnGarage dude got a nice truck. Id like to see some more of these kinds of builds.
Amazing transformation. Probably my favorite among all your vehicles.
This is my favorite video of a completely clapped out rust bucket looking really really nice. I’ve followed this build from the beginning even when Kevin first got it and i thought to myself that thing is done for
man, he just like.. sold it, just like that. What an emotional roller coaster.
I watched the whole series but after seeing this video began to understand how much work was put in to resurrecting this truck. Thanks for the great videos and all your work Dalton.
It's been a while since we saw that project and it was great to see all the highlights of the build from start to finish. I'd completely forgotten just how rotten that cab was at the beginning - and it was truly shocking, eh! Seeing you give the engine a rev as you and JD were getting ready to go for the first drive and watching the cab twist and compress so bad that the door moved out of the remains of the frame {{SHUDDER}} Haven't seen scuttle shake that bad since my mates and I cut the roof, pillars and door tops off a rotten old Cortina and try to drive it down the road......and your truck has a frame under it!
Compressing the whole series into an hour and a half (more or less) would indeed take an effort. Which bits to leave in or cut, all the splicing of the bits into a new video and leaving enough to ensure it flows. Worth doing and releasing several months after the final episode (as you've done here), but not something I'd do myself with every project due to the sheer effort required....and it would be selfish of us as the viewers to expect it. Glad the truck has gone to a good home. You're right - getting the next generation interested in the old cars is the only way the vehicles will continue to be around. Glad both you and I have young ones that we've managed to infect with the bug! All the best
I always enjoy seeing a Father and Son work together. Something we need more of in this Country...MERICA!!!!
One of the best restoration videos I’ve seen in a long time. Keep up the good work.
Ahhhhhh, the Silver Dollar, probably the best "hold my beer" series on YT in a very long time i know of from start to finish. The Silver Dollar is the reason i subscribed and got a membership to support the internet getting proven wrong. And along the way i fell in love with Jaaaags, Candy Vans & LTD's out of principle. 👌🏻🤘🏻🇺🇸
Hell yeah brother
What a great rebirth for a chev. You rebuild things just like Vice Grip Garage. Keep the great videos coming 👍🏻
This episode is proof that Dalton is a Master Mechanic and no wonder Kevin asks him for advice. JD is awesome and is just as funny as his old man.
Brought another square body back from the dead! Looks great
From a wreck to a driving vehicle that looks awesome ! Tremendous amount of work you guys did !
Outstanding result dude 👌👏 You literally managed to polish and put a shine on a turd!!! 😂 Loved the longer video btw, must have taken an age to complete 👍🙏
Said it before so I'll say it again, Chevy never had one that looked that good in the showroom, that's one you can be proud of.👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Man that really warms my heart to see that kid out there learning. You've wussy proofed him for life 👍
I love the longer videos, better than any movie i could put on haha. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Dalton thank you for keeping it real and remiding us that its more important to just save it and get it going within our ability. This truck was a great save and I enjoyed following your build of this truck.
Every time an episode on this truck would come out when it first debuted. I clicked on it instantly
The amount of rust repair I have to do on my 2000 Silverado that I love that my wife thinks is a waste of time is nothing compared to what you fix.
Watching this restoration from beginning to end the first time around was delightful, and so is this vid.
I love love LOVE these old squarebodies so much. Thank you for giving that old girl a new lease on life.
Also I put one of your stickers on the visor of my 07 Mustang and it instantly got like 5 more hrsprs btw.
Quality as always. Nice edit of a great series and still a ton of fun to rewatch in a condensed version.
I love the way JD looked at you when you said "That's what you are meant to do on a new Transmission."
It feels weird to me to think that I'm the "next generation" but at 21 I'm glad to keep the tradition goin. I've got an addiction tho, two 70s Honda dirt bikes, a squarebody tow truck, a 56 ford hot rod, a fully built Jeep cherokee, a 50s golf/utility cart, a Harley I haven't touched in months, and many many more squarebodies and Harley's to come. I absolutely love how this build turned out but I absolutely hate bondo, I wouldn't know it was there if I didn't watch this, but i would love to see this baby rebuilt with a perfect cab. I can't wait to see the 4x4 van build, I've been dreaming about a sweet ol van since I ever started loving cars.
You did a heck of a job taking that poor old truck from neglected to loved. Good job, sir!!
That is the best video I have seen you do. You actually made it look nice and took your time and did not drive the crude out of it at the end. Great job! I am impressed.
absolutely awesome build!! saw already the partial process. love the style and how you went about it. budget, relaxed and still a bit OCD. lol. more resto- or roadstorations like that please. highly satisfying to see 'em rescued and resurrected
JD's really quick with The Comebacks and he's kind of serious so he's funny I'm just laughing my ass off with you guys
what u did to that truck is amazing. and j.d's ability to match your sarcasm is priceless.
Tell this dude you can’t do something, watch him do it! FFS, outstanding! He deserves a millions subs!
Loved this series! Super excited when a new episode came out. Some things I couldn't bear like the bumpers not aligning completely, but that's my problem haha!
This....this was somethin' else!! Great job all around, you sir are one talented SOB!! I know of no human who would have tackled something of this caliber....most would have let it turn to dust. You did not and both you and JD learned a lot along the way. Amazing, simply amazing 👍❤
So nice to see someone spray paint right instead of slinging the gun back and forth with their wrist. I've seen guys on car TV shows not even doing it right like you.
Dude said, 'it ain't perfect he'll it ain't even good' 😂😂😂😂😂 dude you gets me
This video got me through the day. I appreciate all the work you and Jessi do!
Thanks!
At 56 years old I thought I had seen everything. Then an armed village genius appeared.....seriously though a credit to you and your family regarding this upload. A mighty effort rewarded with a mighty fine looking truck!
So you made that pile of rust into a ride to be proud of, without dropping 30k-80k? You are a true hero of the car community. It may not be "perfect", but in is absolutely perfect enough.
It still amazes me how nice this truck came out.
Both of you keep up the great work. It’s very nice to see father and son projects coming together.
Thanks for putting this longer video together Dalton. This cut was fantastic! Really enjoyed reliving this journey, and actually forgot that Silver Dollar came from Kevin.
ngl, that was much more than impressive
i'm happy to see a restoration be done in "the right way", because yeah. i didn't think that poor truck could become so good.
it was truly enjoiable to watch
Excellent restoration. One of the best I’ve seen on here. Love those 70s square bodies.
Lmc never disappoints with their quality parts and how well they line up...
There aren't many times I get sucked into a series this much. This is one of the best.
I swear that zip tie door latch is what Larry the Cable Guy would do.
I loved the Silver Dollar Chevy, it is one chevy body I always liked. Hope it lives for many years to come.
Dalton. Really enjoyed this. Was great to finally see a complete restoration. Truck looked great. Credit to you and JD. 👍🏻
Sad to see it go, but glad it can be an inspiration to the community. Definitely not your average restoration! Great Job Dalton!
Thank you pbg for restoring this truck. these squarebody Chevys are classics and deserve the treatment
This is way better than regular car shows, horsepower tv, gears, muscle car, trucks... i like this way better.
I agree but may be biased
The silver dollar Chevy was one of my favorite projects. Can't wait for the 4x4 van.
Remarkable resurrections from PBG. A classic, well done sir. Your determination to completion has been nothing short of admirable.
Kevin fucked up selling that instead of doing the same himself. He’s got a good set of hands and some wrenches. You’re a damn good shade tree mechanic. I love watching this channel
One of my favorite channels on the CZcams. Keep it up.
It's awesome your boy likes being out in the shop with you. If he sticks with it, not only will he learn many life lessons, but he'll learn a trade that if need be or he wants it to. It could make him a living.
Dude! Seeing all that work in one video is pretty impressive. That thing was a horrendous bucket of truck shaped rust, and most people would've considered it beyond saving. But you dug in and persevered until it was a properly presentable rig to be proud of. Cheers to you, and thanks for reminding us that where there's a will (and enough delusion), there's a way.
The sketch level of the trailer load was legendary!! God I love these videos.
That cab is hard core.
If Derek from VGG is like Jimmy Carter, this guy is Billy. Very entertaining keep it up 😂
"And that's because I'm not doing it right"
I felt that in my freaking soul.
Man the silver dollar Chevy saga was great. I was kinda hoping JD got it as his first square body. But at least another young man will enjoy it and keep the hobby going.
Nice of you to pass it on. I'm sure he'll be proud to own it!
I started watching this late last night and could not turn it off. I think I ended up going to bed around 2:00 am. Great job enjoyed every minute of the video. That's what you call making a silk purse from a sow's ear. Keep up the good work. Inspiration for all of us garage rats.
Awesome! Thank you!
Not sure who does the editing but they do a great job! Love them throwing the good stuff in like you huffing the body filler😂
Lol Dalton perfectly conveys the madness every man devolves into while working on vehicles minus the immense amount of cuss words that I'm sure he has blast editing out lol
I watched all the original videos from tearing up the yard, loading the trailer, and transforming this truck into a Beast of a Step Side! Great content, hope that 14 year old knows what he has. Mine is a 76’ F100 short bed 4x4, love to wrench on the old stuff!
One of the best vids and loved the fact that it went to a kid to keep the old vehicle tradition alive
YESSS!!! We need more 4x4 content. I've been dying to see the 4x4 van! I've owned a 1979 1 ton and a 1985 Chevy conversion van, always wanted a pathfinder conversions 4x4 van. I cannot wait till a van video drops
I have a 74 K10 that started out in similar shape. I have one side done with new cab mount, inner and outter rockers, cab corner, kick panel and floor pan all done. As soon as firewood cutting season is over I'm going to start on the other side. This series has rekindled my motivation. Thanks Dalton!
Hell yeah brother
That looks like a different truck. thanks for teaching me so much with this series Dalton.
My favorite part of this channel is the “ rebuild “ in a rattle can.😂
the before and after of that truck looked verrrry good
I'm a body guy and this series was very satisfying to watch
