Decent joke, but context and appropriateness matters. Among friends, it’s more than fine. In the workplace, it gets dicey for some. You should generally refrain from race or sex based comments among colleagues. You don’t know who’s gonna take it badly.
@@kikialeaki1850 I don't think it would be that much of an issue here. If it's people of African and Asian descent. It's not a stereotype nor even a negative movie reference. The most I can see is the person making the joke being asked to avoid making such jokes in the future or being more careful with whom they make jokes with.
I do understand where you're coming from but I think it has a lot to do with culture and location.
I'm quite certain that wouldn't raise an eyebrow (in offence) here. I live in Barbados for context.
White people say the craziest shit sometimes. I'm mixed race and my partner is white. Even he had to readjust because I educated him on what's appropriate and what's not (and he isn't a malignant racist, or I wouldn't be with him). It's mostly older white people that think they can get away with this stuff, because back in their day they had the societal and political power to do it. I don't think someone should lose their job over a lame joke like this, but they need to be taught a lesson that it's not appropriate to make race based jokes in the workplace.

The UK context is implied there because James and Fuhad live in England, but it can also apply to other places that are touchy about it as well (US, Canada, possibly Australia and New Zealand, etc.).
