    A little about us:
Dave (the 36-year-old with the impressive beard) was raised almost completely sheltered from pop culture by his strict military family. He was homeschooled K-12. He legitimately has very little knowledge of music and artists from before 2000.
John (the guy in disguise) has been a MUSIC LOVER since he was born in the 1960's. Problem is, he rarely knows the lyrics to the music he loves.
Dave, on the other hand, has never heard or rarely overheard the music that John chooses to play for him, but does an impressive job sussing out the meanings behind the lyrics, sometimes to unexpected ends.
John remains in the dark both as a wry play on the situation but also because of legal issues causing his attorney to recommend maintaining a low profile.
We did not write, nor do we own the Copyright for the song used in this Educational Reaction Video. This is a real, honest reaction to a song Dave have never consciously heard before and/or listened to with intent. Any "facts" offered by John "Doh" are based more on his remembrances than on any actual research. Please feel free to correct him. He loves it.

The greatest Rock/Metal band in history. You can listen to their first 6 albums and you would only have to skip is a single song (not even sure if it qualifies as a song) that is under 2 minutes long. Only a handful of bands ever would meet that standard.

Six ground-breaking albums in a row. I'm not sure even the Beatles managed that.

Ozzy was attacked by a gang of skinheads and had to miss a gig from his injuries. Skinheads are known for wearing doc marten boots so the title is a dig at them

That is just the story they told the people in the seventies because that was more acceptable reason for writing the song the real reason is a bad acid trip Sharon Osbourne has already come out and said this.

This is 1970 Paranoid. Number two of two albums released that year. Self titled debut and Paranoid.

In my opinion Sabotage was their best album. Every track a banger.

I would love to see your reaction to "Hand of Doom" and if you could find it "Rat Salad" is a follow on. If you liked this, you'll love it.

This song has some prog elements. Seeing how this album came out in 1970. So did Trespass by Genesis. John, you might remember the last track from this album. “The Knife”, which to me would be the first prog metal song written, in my opinion. Would love to see you guys do a reaction to that song!

Thome thay the Beatleth invented metal with Helter Thkelter. Onthe Jeff Beck thtarted uthing dithtorthion, everyone wanted that tone.
Thabbath added drop tuning and the genre wath born. Thabotage and Thabbath Bloody Thabbath are thtill my favoriteth albumth from thethe guyth.
Though the Dio era wath amathing. For Born Again they were joined by Ian Gillan, and turned out to be a cult clathic.

Apparently the lyrics involve some skinheads fucking around out near a place where Ozzy and the rest of the guys were high as shit.

Sorry Mr. Doe, but Black Sabbath was their first album, not Paranoid.

Steppenwolf had "Heavy Metal" Thunder as lyrics but Black Sabbath was the first to play it. Heavy shit! What I love is how random it was that this band got together being that Tony blew off Ozzy as a singer until later Ozzy and Geezer (guitarist at the time) went looking for Bill Ward to drum. They all gave it a go and we are thankful ! EDIT - Ozzy got back with them in 2012 and they put out two great songs "End of the beginning" and "God is dead" both very worthy and proves they never lost a thing.

Tony Ozzy Geezer and Bert we're in a blues jazz band called Earth they have been together since the early 60s I saw them perform in a pub in England in 1966 and let me tell you Ozzy played the harmonica quite a bit . All this information is in the documentary Black Sabbath. Tony Iommi had recently had an accident at the steel mill he had been working at cutting off his fingertips of his fret hand you can see this if you watch the videos when they zoom in on him playing his guitar. He fashioned some tips for his fingers out of an old leather jacket This caused his guitar playing to have a deep dark sound, Vietnam had been going on for a couple of years and they had noticed all the American bands were upbeat war music they decided to use this dark new sound to make heavy music and they change their name to Black Sabbath.

@@claudballs5679 Bill Ward not Bert. Whoever you saw perform in a pub in England in 1966, it wasn't Earth. Mythology (Iommi & Ward) formed in 1967. Rare Breed (Ozzy & Butler) also formed in 1967. They all got together as Earth in 1968. You've probably just got the date wrong.

Why, Kevin? What does a Canadian Indie band have anything to do with the direction of this channel? I checked out the whole song. What I heard was dual or triple tracked sleepy vocals, at least one of which was run through a vocoder effect and all of which were highly compressed and just as highly 'pitch corrected.' It was like Enya and Vangelis, circa 1981. Then there was the weird paper dress and low budget video. She's a 50-year-old. In the music industry, if you haven't made it by 28, go get your old job back. But especially, why did you request that song on a Black Sabbath reaction? @kevindobson6568?? - JD
