Even at the same weight class buddy. A gorilla has four times the density of muscle fibres compared to a human. A similar human would have to be four times as big to be able to do similar feats.

Not to mention the ease with which they can move 600lb's of mass. They can do one arm chin ups at that weight. A 400lb strong man can do a few half rep chin ups for comparison. The strength of these primates is just phenomenal.

Early tests suggesting that old men with low levels of testosterone have weak bones, have not yet determined causation, but more correlation with low testosterone and light bone density. And that's what you'd expect. Those who are more sedentary, have weaker bones. Just like those who stop training, their muscles shrink.

Their bodies are quite literally the apex of what our bodies would’ve been if we were designed for strength and power rather than intelligence. Their anatomical proportions are designed so a deadlift for them looks like a human’s deadlift after the bar passes the knee (generally the point it gets easier). Their posterior chain is also designed to be extremely powerful. You can see that just in the size of the gorilla’s glutes.

The main reason is that their arm muscles are attached higher on the bone, allowing for way more leverage. Same for chimps

People eat meat & think they will become as
Strong as an ox or gorilla,
forgetting that the ox and gorilla both eat plants.

@dl30wpb Right! Lol just ask all the pro athletes that go vegan and then end up plagued by microfracture issues and overall loss of muscle mass. But, that isn't to say it's without its merits.

Of course, we have a different digestive system than a gorilla. We're meant to be pure omnivores, while gorilla's huge digestive system is a fermentation vat that extracts nutrients from the most unlikely sources, almost entirely vegetables and some fruits, and really mostly greens and tough stuff like young bamboo.
