How to Film Yourself and Make a Movie When You're Alone!

On this video, we're talking about how to film yourself and make a one-man short film, making a film alone, that's right, all by yourself! Sometimes when we're feeling creative, we don't always have other like-minded people to collaborate with, so you have to get in there and figure out a way to do it yourself. I've made several short films by myself for the channel, and I think I've figure out a few good tips to share with you guys to help you out with the process. It's really hard to shoot a film alone! You have to get the focus right, come up with a simple story that works with just one actor (you), and you have to account for every little thing when you're planning. Hopefully, with these tips, you'll be inspired to make a film alone, and you'll get better results! If you make a film by yourself, please share it with us in the comments!

I've been using a greenscreen, but lately, I find myself wanting more cinematic and real life shots.

One man Short Film! Nice one. One man Army. Preparation is key! Double yourself! Filming on Tripod and PoV of key Frames. Plan in Advanced! Storyboards for overview. Stay in Focus and in Frame! Great tips! As I was walking into the woods one time, a few deer was coming my way as I filmed them, that gave me an idea, I went on into the woods filming myself as if something was following me. I used sound effects in which really helped, and of course I showed at the end where it was just deer. 🤣 Thanks for sharing.

Good idea. One thing I learned about sound effects: If an unexpected noise "ruins" your sound recording, save it. On one occasion, the sound of someone getting out of a car, opening and closing a door and the car moving away "messed up" my attempt to record traffic sounds. Later in the filming, I needed the sound of someone catching a taxi and realized I already had it.
