SPOILER ALERT The reason why you are confused is because, the very fact that there are two vijays itself is supposed to be a suspense that gets revealed only just before the intermission. Until then it was supposed to look like one Vijay to the audience. But since you have already got to know from some source that there are 2 Vijays, you find it confusing, because it is meant to confuse the audience until all the knots are opened through the course of the movie.
