Yellow Perch Ice Fishing Trip Went Bad on Cook's Bay Lake Simcoe! I Fell in! Banana as Bait?

- In this episode I visited Cook's Bay on Lake Simcoe Ontario to do some yellow perch ice fishing for the very first time. I had several objectives:
1. Was to catch more than 2 fish since last time I was out I only caught 2 fish
2. Catch a Jumbo Perch
3. Use some unique/weird baits (Hint you can buy it at the grocery store)
I also did not expect to fall in to Lake Simcoe. I will describe the ordeal and some tips to follow so you don't fall into the lake!

Please take care out there. Also, drill two holes side by side to put your transducer in; if you do get a jumbo it won’t tangle around your transducer! From simcoe perch guide.

Wally its not worth it to fish thin ice. I knew somebody who went through the ice on Lake Simcoe in a Jeep many years ago. The weather was mild for a long time and streams of water were flowing on the ice. They decided to night fish. He was in the back seat and never made it out. It seems the days of meter thick ice on Lake Simcoe are long past.
Thanks for the message. My biggest gaffe was not respecting the crack enough. I think that if you do head out, you need to always respect nature to the max and take all the precautions. I will stay off for a bit!

@@ToothyWally it has nothing to do with catching fish. It comes from the ships that use to transport bananas were always plagued with problems. You may catch the biggest the biggest fish you’re but as the folk lore goes your boat could be at the bottom of the lake that day.
