Regardless of the fine construction and engineering that goes into a ship mankind is NO match against the spur of the moment forces of what the sea could do as well as the weather patterns that could have a deadly affect of how the sea reacts!! Have a lot of respect for the sea and the fishes who truly belong there !!

I am from Russia and l remember soviet music. So I hear this composition often when watch foreign movie about ussr. But this music was not popular in ussr. I am also think that this compisition was not created in Russia or ussr.

Not Crimea, it sank near Novorossiysk. It had departured Novorossiysk to Odessa at night when another ship strike it.

The MS Akeksander Rustaveli Was Ordered By Black Sea Shipping Company And Was Built At Mathias-Thesen-Wreft In Germany. The Ship Was Cermonially Launched On January 16th 1966. She Was Delivered To The Black Sea Shipping Company On April 26th 1967. In April 1967 She Used Instered Cruises. In 1989 She Was Chartered To Spirhen Reisen In Five Years. In 1995 The Ship Was Transferred To Blasco UK. In 1995 She Was Rebuilt In Odessa,Ukraine. In 1997 She Was Sold To Ocean Travel And Agencies. On June 18th 1998 The Ship Would Embarked On 3-Week Cruises In Piraeus,Greece With 532 Passengers Onboard,But The Shipping Company Went Bankruptcy And Was Arrested In Piraeus. On July 25th 1998 She Was Laid Up At Ilichevensk. In 2000 She Was Sold To Buksir Shipping International And Registed In Nassau,Bahamas And Renamed ENIARKU {Ukraine Letters Backwards}. In September 2003 She Was Sold For Scrapping In India. In November 2003 She Was Renamed To ENI. On November 7th 2003 She Departed From Ilichevensk To Alang,India. On December 4th 2003 She Was Beached At Alang,India For Scrapping But Cutting Torches We're Waiting.

No, no. That's her sister ship. Another ship, but she looks exactly the same. Her name used to be "Alexander Pushkin", and now her name is "Marco Polo". The "Taras Shevchenko" has been scrapped for a long time now.

There were four sister ships built in East Germany as Poet Class. Ivan Franko (now Marco Polo), Mikhail Lermontov (Sank off New Zealand around 1990), Taras Schevchenko and Shota Rustaveli (Both scrapped) after the demise of the Soviet Union. I worked as photographer on the Shota and Taras in early to mid 1980s. Happy Days.

because when Russia was CCCP (or -USSR) Ukraina was not independent but belonging to Soviet Union.
Therefore the ship was named with the name of a "soviet" poet.
