- I love this soap design, asked for suggestions, and wow did you all come thru❣️ This color combo and fragrance was a subscribers idea and I'm so happy with how it came out. I call the soap "shades of grey" in the beginning, but upon further research there was a potential for copyright issues.... So I took to IG for names and again a sweet follower came up with the perfect name🖤 I'm so thankful you all are so creative! #soapmaking #coldprocesssoap #thankful

You're such an inspiration to us new soap makers. I love that you show the process including flaws and experiments. I began making candles, wax melts and soaps after my daughter passed away last may. She had began making them for our local farmers market. To continue her vision I continued making the candles and extended her products by making soaps. This reminds me of that Halloween movie, the nightmare before Christmas. It looks like Jack's suit and the moon when he was on the cliff. You should consider putting this as a reminder of that movie, I bet it would sell well this time of year too. People LOVE THAT MOVIE and they are talking about a live action.

These are absolutely gorgeous!!!! When it comes to fragrances, the name definitely attracts me, or shooos me off! I like when the name somewhat describes the fragrance. Like “laundry day” “winter woods” or so on? Maybe I’m too simple, Ellen?😂 Monkey farts just makes me think *Nooooooo!*😂 it may smell great, but I’d have a hard time even reading the description.😂 I absolutely love this soap and the name you chose!

That fragrance is amazing, I made a soap a few months back with that but I brought it from Be Scented. I’ll have to try the one from wholesale supplies plus because I know it will be more potent. The one I have wasn’t strong enough🤷🏽♀️😁 Will be using again. Your bars came out gorgeous!💚🔥

Beautiful soap Ellen. A question please. I use a premixed 50/50 lye solution. When would I introduce the Tussah Silk? Thank You for all your inspiration.
the pre-mixed lye solution isn't hot enough to melt the fibers, so I would skip the silk.
Beautiful design. I think you are really missing out judging by the name. Reindeer poop scent is amazing! Kids & adults seem to love it.

I know what you mean by the off putting names. I do however buy them but I rename them. I think they use those names to make it more fun for kids. What kid wouldn’t get a kick out of Monkey Farts and Reindeer Poo. 😂

I’m so interested in this now after buying handmade soaps. Yours is coming soon to me. Excited. Question if I was venturing into making my own soap. How did you start was it small batch or did you jump in and make those big logs? My circle is small so I would be the only one using it unless I braved the possibility of giving away as gifts to a few people.

Halloween name it Beetle Juice and for the Christmas season name it Jack Skelton from the Nightmare Before Christmas. Just use a Christmas scent instead. If the name of a scent is a little off putting to me but I like the scent notes I will change the name of it. I got the Monkey Farts because my kids wanted it but to sell it and market it I just changed the name.

How long does the titanium dioxide last in the squirt bottle if I were to make ahead?
If I’m not going to use it up in a few days, I put a preservative in so it lasts for a long time.

Names of soaps are important and I’d never buy something with a silky name. I love ‘shades of grey’.👍

Everytime I try to do a layered soap, it gets too hot and 1 layer ends up being too hard to cut which ruins the design 😢☹️

This soap is absolutely amazing. Just for the record, I wouldn't buy anything associated with the name monkey farts. I think its horrible. Whoever thought it up 🤔
