    KRIYAYOGA VS VAASIYOGA
Kriyayoga and Vaasiyoga are often considered by many as one and the same. But, the truth is different. Vaasiyoga, Siddha Vidhya, etc are just a part of Kriyayoga. Kriyayoga truly belongs to the tradition of ancient Kashmiri Shaivism.
Kriya Yoga is the superior most technique of God-realization. There is no other technique greater than this. Kriya Yoga is never a mere breathing exercise. It is a way of mastering the mind through the control of vital force. In Kriya Yoga breath is of little importance. The importance is given to prana or life energy and thereby stopping the modifications of mental stuff. Though this is the fact, since the process of breathing is unavoidable in the initial stages of practice, a peculiar kind of breathing is done synchronized with the conscious and controlled movement of life energy through the sacred royal path called Sushumna Nadi. Heavy breathing is made as light as possible so that the prana is separated and pumped into the sushumna and to the brain. Initially, the prana is made to move up and down through the Sushumna channel. With development, the yogi through the use of higher initiation techniques he received from his master utilizes the prana energy to wipe out karmic patterns present in certain subtle centers and untie the knots that prohibits the upward flow of prana to the brain. In further higher techniques, he will be taught how to store prana in the brain, to maintain it in and out of the brain and finally to go out of the brain to merge with God and come back as and when he desires (Meditation and Samadhi). Unless one acquires mastery in the beginning stages of Kriya there is no use of practicing higher kriyas. Different techniques or shortcuts are adopted by Kriyayogis to accomplish the quick evolution of their consciousness.
While Vaasi Yoga uses peculiar breathing (as similar to that used in Kriya), but does not give importance to the movement of prana through the spinal channel. In Vaasi Yoga , the practitioner fixes his mind and eyes at the eyebrow center and inhales and exhales in a peculiar fashion as in Ujjayi Pranayama. This will not contribute to the movement of life energythrough the Sushumna channel. But in Kriya Yoga, with each Kriya, the yogi consciously, under his will power directs life energy through the Spinal channel. Such 10, 61,000 Kriyas bestows never-failing platform for supreme realization. In Vaasi Yoga too, awakening trough the sushuman happens, but it is not sure when it will happen, as you are not concentrating the spinal cord.
You may listen to Swamiji for knowing this well.
    Kriyayoga-Meditation
A happy, healthy and satisfying life is the result of God-union alone. Nothing in this world or others can bestow a fully satisfied blissful heart. No answers can satisfy your intellect to the fullest until you perceive your soul as never different from God.
Mere beliefs and faiths, unscientific practices, dogmatic ideologies, materialistic approaches to yoga & meditation, cannot give a person true personal perception Spirit. It requires sincere practice, with devotion and faith, of a true time-tested methodology supported by unfailing theoretical basis, guarded by and passed on through the lineage of immortal saintly Masters.
The aim of SMB Mission is to disseminate true knowledge of theoretical and practical spirituality enabling each individual to have a direct perception of God.
Each human soul is made in the image of the Almighty creator. Since we are bound to this body made of flesh and bones, we had forgotten our true nature. We at SMB Mission help you to recover this lost memory and thereby perceiving your true nature as Spirit. The progressive evolution of the human brain is the platform for the perception of higher reality. The systematic practice of Kriyayoga (along with various supporting techniques) helps the yoga student to evolve his brain quickly to perceive higher realities.
