"I got distracted by the bush" T90, 2023
honestly a very normal experience, I'm surprised he's only having this happen now.
@@l.p.7585our boy growing up😢
Hahaha im excited to hear this quote now
My favorite will always be that exploding vils vid from like 3 years ago where he mentions "Blowy girls vs Pointy boys" 🤣🤣🤣
The 00s were a hard time.
T90 got distracted by the bush, then noticed the dangling meat while Daut wanted to go all in
Ah yes the sergeant. The Honey Badger of the medieval world.
Hahahahah
Omg that's so on point and hilarious
The Normans (Sicilians) really were too. Ruthless mercenaries whose lineage went from Scandinavia to France and then to Italy, all while winning battles while being outnumbered.
I think it’s just a better name to call it the pudding rush.
Brilliant 👏👏👏
prush
@@mysteriousshadow395I was going to say that 😂
that's what you get when you eat too much pudding
I love this whole strategy. I said in a previous video, it gives a "world event" vibe you might get from an MMO. I'm having fun.
I love when people get a meta shake up
I hate when things become stagnant and unimaginative, playing the standard way every match just becomes a muscle memory flex off
all about tactics, this is about strategy
I love that cutting straggler trees is a popular strat now
Think there's a viper game where he destroyed the pudding strat by going all in monks and converting his own sergeant army
Aye, he would do that
This map is honestly one of the best for it, gold are in TC range so you never need to donjon at home like in Arabia (usually you have to donjon your gold + wood if you're lucky)
Interesting debuff: converted Sargeants can build Donjon.
Boring debuff: Donjons take more time to build and or Sargeants have less armor.
@@Go_Coup think making them have less armor in feudal is required for a fix: so they can't just towerdive.
Such a tease... can't wait to see what the latest game-breaking strategy is that you're going to be revealing in a future video.
These videos are out of order no? He was talking about the roman siege all in. He referenced videos that are already up I thought.
@@myopiniondoesntmatter7068that video was against youpudding I think. T90 said the new strat is from the phosphoru guy
Losing 2 donjons to a single tower is such a Daut thing :D
Watched it on Yodit's YT channel. His takeaway was, that he should have gone under the TC sooner.
Btw, Tri90, welcome back to the land of the living. Really missed the HC. By far my favorite tournament of any kind. Never miss a game and have rewatched all at least 2-3 times.
When Villese tried it against Da Snek, the latter beat it with FC CA.
I thought garrisoning sergeants in the donjons didn't add arrows?
A note for the editor: at 1:30 when you showed the series records, it would have been good to block out the results of this game for spoilers
came to the comments to point this out.
Do you think this is something you’d prefer spoiler free as a viewer considering 1- it happened three weeks ago and 2- I have not casted it nor do I plan to?
I ask because I feel that considering those circumstances, I feel it’s actually good for the viewer to see the results & many might find it interesting. Would love feedback on this.
@@T90Official I think showing the overall 3-11 record for the series improved my viewing experience by providing valuable context, but knowing the outcome of this specific game took away the suspense of knowing whether the strat would work
You could put the results in the end of the video or description instead. @@T90Official
@@TheBreadbocksOH DUH, it slipped my mind it showed the result for this cast… That’s an obvious one we can fix for the future. Thanks for saying something 😅
Amusing enough, I just found this video looking for Sicilians tutorials. I just picked up the game again after years of not playing and fell in love once I saw the civilization in the menu. I find it hilarious that the strategy I’ve been having fun with offline, is happening in online play.
Sorry i got distracted by the bush - T90
I agree bush is very distracting
The easiest counter start is to go full gold yourself and drive up market food prices. This poison pills the economy for the Sicilian Pudding player.
Why so cruel!?
That's major props to Youpudding for a pro to try the strat.
The DauT Castle has become the DauT Donjon
The only reason why this game lasted that long is that Daut kept bailing out on attacking the TC even though he was bringing it down and idling/killing a lot of villagers to go back to the woodline which frankly wasn't helping Capoch anyway. Capoch wasn't spending wood, the only point of the woodline was to sell wood.
Disagree about the map helping Daut.
Consider this: on Arabia, Capoch's eco would have been easier to dislodge. He could only get this many knights and monks because his gold was so close to his tc.
@@naphackDTreasonable
YouPudding is becoming my favourite player. Everyone is trying his moves 😂
I love the strategy! The more variety to play the better imo!
This felt like a ladder game. Very fun
love seeing new wacky strats appear. Hoang GOAT. Also enjoy when you chronicle someone that only plays one civ/strat
You have to think though that if it was Arabia or any more standard map, Daut would have been able to kill off or disrupt the gold villagers much more easily in his initial attack, making it much harder to counter with knights + monks. A big reason that was able to work as quickly as it did and drag out the game is because the only time he was able to attack the villagers on gold is diving the tc.
Love the vids keep it up
this strategy definitely makes games a lot more scrappy and interesting, at least from a spectator point of view
i think it's great for the game. adds variety and new strategies. mind games if you pick Sicilians
In the 2nd min, you showed who won the match.., WOW!
Daut missed one critical element: the rams.
- The Ol' Sicilian Sic'Em.
7 eco at the end for Capoch... Like lol.
10:00 I think only extra arrows have bonus against stone defenses and melee units don't give extra arrows. So I think a garrisoned tower can easily shoot a castle age Donjon down.
Fascinating.
If you convert the sergeant you should be able to make donjons as well I feel like that should be fixed 😂
Phosphoru now doing fc food trucks 11
I’ve played at least 3 people these last days/latest week whom all have done a version of this
"Distracted by bush" and "dangly meats"? o_O Is this turning into one of those lewd channels?
I don't care what happens here... the title is enough for me to love this upload ❤️
Seems like serjeant needs to have an upgrade like eagle Scout to warrior
I wonder if the Cumans would be particularly well-suited to handle this strat with a secret two TC boom. Send some vills over to one corner of the map, distract at the main base while you build up the other.
Do sergeants increase the donjons arrow fire?
No
Sunday morning fun
this strat would crush on golden pit
I have been waiting for it to be in the map pool!
When you do these types of videos it would be cool if you had the live chat in the bottom right. Half the fun is seeing your audiences reactions real time to what you say.
6:35 well you do seem to be a fan of berrys after all
I love youpudding strats, cause this kind of strategy mostly on AOE4
very cool game
I see the 2-3h idle eco stat and think geez. But I'm unable to reconcile just how far ahead or behind Capoch is because he has more villagers, currently and for longer.
I wish there was an total eco time working statistic, so I could compare. Also being able to graph that statistic over a game would be able to tell you (irrespective of the outcome of the game) if the strategy of delaying vills/eco to get in damage by strategy X was worth it in collective eco difference.
I've been using the pudding strat against the AI....have got my castle time down to 15 min...no lumber camp.
Why not possible to make donjon with converter sergent?
As far as I know, garrisoning sargents into donjons does not add arrow fire, but there is a mission in the Sicilian campaign that allows you to get crenellations which makes it possible. Fun campaign btw
I really wonder why anyone ever thought that seargants and their towers were bad. They are a great militia unit that can also build towers all over the enemy base. And those towers can produce more of them.
When they first came out a lot of people thought of doing this very strat. YouPudding just made it work with market trade and figuring out a proper build order.
Spreading like cancer
It kinda bothers me that DauT never got the castle age armor upgrade. He could have cut that damage he was taking under the TC in half for the cost of only like 5 more units, at a time when he had 11 units.
Castle age armor upgrade too expensive. beside, with 3+1 armor, the TC is only doing 1 damage anyway. If anything need to be added, it is the attack upgrade
Capoch didn't have fletching.
These sarjeants are like eagles except they don't produce so slowly in feudal age and they don't have an upgrade from scout to warrior
This game is so funy
How did Capoch destroy the dungeon/tower from the Sililians near his woodline?
Just destroy opponent's Market. :)
Wtf was this game, this youpudding strategy is crazy lol!
DauT used it against Hera and won as well.
T90s been lurking in Daniela_aoe's streams too much 11
I think best choice against this start is just FC UU. Defend starting area with a castle, monk up a bit and counter with your own unit. Imagine Boyars here vs Sarjeant. Not even close.
Can a converted serjeant build a donjon?
Get Hardy to try YouPudding strat plz or anything of Hardy gamely noob or secret master let us see!!! Plz
the key is siege workshop!
Pudding Rush, is more suitable name
can converted serjeants build donjons?
Serjeants don't shoot arrows from donjons,
Cheers to all the people who thought FC knights was a hard counter to the pudding rush.
21:35 Lithuanian/Slav architecture has always annoyed me because the tower and individual piece of wall look really similar.
Where is low elo legend? I am going crazy over here....
Monks carry shields? Uh pretty sure those are Books, or Tomes.
the funny part about this tactic is that the opponent can't even abuse the market because you are driving up the prices and you're also the only one with stable gold income.
I still stand by my original solution. SPAM INFANTRY.
What are peoples opinions on this?
Sicilians have been like, mid/bottom of C tier for almost 2 years straight. Does serjeant have too much front-loaded power early game, and is that pigeon-holding their play-style too much?
Should they be scaled back to make serjeant more viable in mid/late game and less in early?
fuggetaboutit
What a crazy game. I'm still not sure why he's talking like this is a new strategy. It's been a thing forever, but the pros seemed to not like it.
People tried and failed because there was not enough early food income to make it an early avalance for immediate pressure with the standard build order. YouPudding found a way to make it work by skipping sending villagers to woodlines first, and then to farms next. All to gold and buy food at thr markey made this strat work. With standard build you are too late and the enemy can counter it.
I hate it when I get distracted by bush and dangling meat.
what happens if you try to lame?
Best of 21? WTF 🤣
We want fatslob
we want vikings
we want blackforest
This was a map which very much favored this strategy, no tree lines, close gold for Daut. I have seen people beat it. Viper expanded around the map to get resources, much like Daut did. The other way is to wall and defend until you can get a defensive castle up, which will break through the sergeant armor and then use your best unique units. In this case boyar would have crushed sergeants. Daut would have countered with monks but the castle would have protected the farms to allow teching into light cavalry. Were these the strats which did you in, T90?
At the same time, if the gold wasn't close for capoch Daut's initial attack would have killed and disrupted his gold without needing to build up to dive the tc. Preventing the knight and monk counter that allowed the game to be dragged out in the first place. If anything sicillians don't care that much about close gold because the initial donjon they have to build to start the rush can help protect their gold from counter attack.
@@Amodelsino A good point, I see this possibly being played on an very open map like this in a tournament. Likely someone like Daut or You Pudding will adapt the strat to grow population and throw in a few knights to search the map for villagers wandering outside the OG area. Daut just did that against Tatoh. He sent villagers out to forage berries instead of paying for food every time, it ended up over 200 gold regardless.
It's funny, I've always played the Sicilians this way ever since they came out. There are several other ways as well to pull it off as well. ;)
I just wish Sicilians weren't a one trick pony. Either the strat can't be overcome without map gen or player execution being the sole factors, or it does get figured out and Sicilians become worthless again. Not a huge fan of strats that depend so much on map gen. It's a good strat, just wish it wasn't the only one they had.
done it twice and its work but i am 1000 EL0
If the sargeant stats increase only when a castle is built up instead just ariving on the castle age, this nonsense is fix.
the counter for seargents is CAV ARCHERS, not knights
Pretty sure sergents don't add arrows to towers
looks a million times better without small tree mod. Could you always cast with that mod off?
sergeants have been broken for a while. ive had people do the rush on me and it seems op.
As far as I'm aware serjeants in a donjon don't shoot arrows😅
They do. But only in a donjon, only after the Sicilian player reaches Castle Age, and they use the same stats as villagers for it.
@@milsharkie Thanks for the info, I honestly checked but I didn't see this mentioned anywhere. Even if I'd tested there's no way i would have thought to check in castle age 😂
I used to see Sicilian videos and get excited, only to be disappointed. Used to. 😊
it feels like this only works when the enemy dont know what is comming and what to do. its strong indeed but all ins should feel strong. this civ is not super strong and i like that it has a special tactic like the persians for example. a tc drop can feel op too if you dont have a plan to deal with it. here its exactly the same. no change needed
Would giving the Serjeant upgrade in Castle age a price and make the player have to upgrade it make it more fair?
It’s the instant upgrade for free that is op
@Hardy @T90official the score sheet in the beginning spoiled the result of this game. But honestly, I never doubt the Lord, so result was clear from the beginning.
Sergeants gathered in towers don't give extra arrows so taking on gathered towers is not an option!
i think better you leave your main TC and make another one
Possible suggestions:
remove +1 pierce armor for sergant when castle age hits
increase cost for sergant perhaps only in donjons
Reduce or remove the +100 stone at the start
reduce sergant build/repair rate
Thankfully not going to happen as no one already picks them most of the time.
For slavs i honestly think Long swords with monks and MAYBE a few scorpions would be way better than unupgraded knights. Still busted af, hope this gets nerfed soon
I would say: Make early castleage serjant slower, more expensive and -1 pierce armor, but make supplies and gambesons apply. Then after squires you will have a very good unit, but not at 13 minutes in the game.
