Yaser Feyli for how long steaming as i learned from other videos is two hours and it depends on the amount of the steam and the type and the size of the wood for how long you holding it after cooking I totally ignore that... I think till you feel it's done

On different woodworking sites and forums, you can find measurements for how long you will need to steam something in correlation with the materials thickness. The thickness and the type of wood, is really important. :)

My guess it's an art sculpture. My university had a large wood working program where you would work side by side with cabinet maker students and art students.

Looks like you used a soft wood, coniferous species of trees are not meant for bending stick with hardwoods next time you will get much better results
