  • Finally got a seal on the cylinder block with Rocol steam seal.
    This is the 3rd firing as a test small issue with the oil pump and valve timing good for reverse but needs adjusting better for forwards.
    Thanks to my wife for filming, i was the one stressed pumping water and chucking coal in.

    Thank-you, you can see by my other videos it's constantly improving by each run, some new parts some just modified to improve performance. The aim is for its size a very powerful engine.

      @@novagsi0 how and where did you put your whistle on the cylinder block? And your water pump feed?

    I have noticed how slowly yours runs almost to tick over speed yet mine stops when you try to run her real slow.
    Why is this?

    • @novagsi0
      @novagsi0  Před rokem

      Looks like i was adjusting the cut off to reduce the valve opening that makes it run slower and use less steam. Other than that its had lot of running in.

      @mattseymour8637 Před rokem

      @@novagsi0 Well I put some more notches in my reverser and I tried reducing the cut off and it wouldn't like it and just stopped. I think it might be the build quality of the engine as the valve timing was all set up properly and has never run at tick over.

      I did make the eccentrics a couple of times before i got the valves to fully open so it now has a lot more power one of my video demonstrates how much blast from the exhaust it produces.

    • @novagsi0
      @novagsi0  Před 3 lety

      When its been running for a couple of hours, it can stop due to heat. Also when running hard i prefer the hand pump as a quick way of topping the boiler up. Still a nervous fireman.
