I cross shopped in between the Audi A4 allroad and Volvo V60 Cross Country recently and bought the Volvo. At first I was all set for the Audi, but it’s all sold out and the dealer just didn’t want to work with us. The Volvo is very comfy at this price range.
Shinny Black plastic parts can accommodate a large percentage of “regrind” that will be produced in the manufacturing process of all other colours. I moved my daughter after graduating from college for a distance of 900 miles in a 2019 Civic (low mileage though) and fell in love with it. At the time, I was driving a 2022 Q3, when I returned I traded it in for a Civic hatchback and love it despite my dislike for CVT.
The reduction in car prices currently is from incentives, not lowered MSRP’s. They’re not gonna reduce the MSRP. They just add incentives. I too hate shinny black plastics. It made us switch our choice from the redesigned Traverse to the Acadia. The GMC variant doesn’t have it.
Hi! With regard to the Honda Civic OR Mazda CX-30 question from a Southern California fan, I was certain you guys would suggest that he also take a drive in a Mazda3. I understand he did not ask about the Mazda3, but the CX-30 is based on the Mazda3, and the Mazda3 would make sense to comparison shop with a Honda Civic. Thanks for the great content!
Thanks Zac for the examples with sound effects. I often don’t understand the mechanical terminology; I often look up terms and it’s still Greek to mean. Your explanations with sound effects really help. More please!
Prices are only dropping on vehicles that no one wants. I've been in the market for the Prius and recent the new Camry. Try finding one that isn't outrageously marked up in price. Even the Hyundai and Kia hybrids are not coming down in prices
Agreed. They’ve got more than a year’s supply of Dodge Hornets. I’ve seen MRSPs of $64k marked down by the dealer to $43k! 😮 $21k drop. Still wouldn’t buy one though.
My 2022 Civic developed the issue a few months after purchase. One year later and many calls and visits to the dealership the steering rack was replaced. So far so good, but ridiculous it took so long with something that potentially could cause a serious accident.
I had the sticky steering issue on my 2024 CR-V. The dealer confirmed the problem and ordered the part. After six months still no part and no idea when it would arrive. Only after I filed a claim citing Washington state lemon law did the part magically appear. Now the problem is resolved. Honda is very negligent in addressing this issue. It affects vehicle safety and Honda doesn’t seem to care.
So glad you enjoyed New'found'land :) Also glad you got to Gros Morne. If anyone reading is considering a trip to Nfld , goto Gros Morne and take the Western Brook Boat tour. It is a tour into a Fjord ( which is not a Fjord, they will explain why) and waterfalls, gorgeous views... wonderful. Had I known you were in the area I would have at least to meet you just to shake hands and say thanks for all the great content for decades. 5 min mark, I think Zack wants a new Watch!

I don’t mind the piano black as long as it is not overkill. I know I’m in the minority, but it looks good and I have a microfiber towel I keep in my driver side storage pocket so I wipe it down regularly. I don’t mind doing that
You guys are awesome!! I love watching your videos. I always recommend your videos to my husband, and anyone who says anything about getting a car. I just got me a new 2023 Explorer Timberline and love it, even though it isn't your favorite, but I couldn't pass up the 0% financing on it. I have always loved the look of the Explorer as Zac does and can live with the lack of technology because it is still has more than my 2018 Cherokee Trailhawk, which I still love also. Thank you both and keep the videos coming. :)
@@djplonghead5403too a degree. I think Toyota has a lot of products that are very competitively priced like the Camry for example. However I think the majority of their Lexus brand is way over inflated and the interiors are just subpar for the class.

The mazda is WAY quieter inside which is part of the man's question. Hondas are notoriously noisy inside at hwy speeds. I have both and yes the Honda handles better (it is a car after all) and the expansion joints are less noticeable in the Honda (you may not feel them much but you definitely hear them) but not overly so....they are barely discernible in the cx30....and the mazda is worlds quieter inside at all speeds and no cvt drone
Such a bummer about the lack of premium wagons! Those are my favorites. I wonder if the Mazda CX-50 would (almost, but not quite) slot into that space? I had my eyes on an A4 wagon for a long time but never pulled the trigger.
Just a comment about Honda CRV for example pricing. As a five time Honda owner yes you & I can get $1500 off but I was told today only if you finance for at least six months. Regarding supply. In Winnipeg presently there is a good supply of Honda’s on the lots ( apparently Hondas show up on occasion unbeknownst to the dealer even knowing- I was told by one sales person ). So will prices come down. My take is somewhat BUT good luck getting a good price on your trade, a vehicle dealers still love because of the profit they make selling them after the “ low Ball” price they offer you! Selling say a $40000 car privately is harder now a a days also as dealers have the better finance rates then the banks. So 6 of one HALF A DOZ of the other. This been said I think this fall we will see some aggressive pricing in favour of buyers. Go Ni, Go Figure!
As a long time Honda owner I can confirm their responsiveness to known issues and replacements if required. I had the entire front drive shafts on my 2012 Fit replaced only 3 years ago at 180,000ish KMS as part of a recall because of corrosion could lead to a failure. Because of the compact design of the shafts, it included the CV joints and boots. So basically Honda replaced the entire steering front end which extended the life of my car as far as I'm concerned! Reason why I've owned Hondas for 30 years, as whenever there's been an issue recall wise, it's always been dealt with promptly and no trying to wiggle out of replacement if needed or better yet, to prevent any further issues.
Same here. Honda rented me a vehicle for months while waiting for availability of Takata airbag replacement. No questions asked, they just took care of it. Customer for life from me.
My '23 Mitsubishi Outlander has some annoying piano black right beside the gear shift....You can get aftermarket covers for it though and I suspect the same would be available for many other cars
We had one of those early Grand Cherokees. Don't remember the hard plastic but what happened to us was the soft touch material along the bottom edge of the side windows curled up and pulled away from the glass - ugly1 We had a newer one subsequently and it was great. Love the channel fellow MetroVan folks!
Hey guys, do you recommend bmw x1 or Lexus nx? You also made a video about ev’s having a higher insurance rates, is that also true about plug in hybrid?
Someone needs to tell Andrea the Civic would make more sense in California as the price of gas is way more expensive anywhere from $5 to $6 per gallon. The CX-30 get crappy gas mileage.
Let's get it right. Honda just released a tsb that says grease in the worm gear of the esp unit was not distributed correctly that can lead to a sticky or binding steering feel at highway speeds. Solution - re distribution of the grease in the worm gear. Replace end caps. That's it! 12:57
Tired of the box cars. I was wishing for a sport sedan but those are disappearing from the market. One ray of hope is sport two seaters. It may be a returning market. Celia, Prelude and now I hear rumors of Mazda RX#? What might you know of some fun under the but coming for 25-26 ?
Wait a second (re: the question about Kia and/or Subaru pickups competing with Tacoma): Kia and Subaru are bringing new pickups to N. America? I thought that was speculation? And those, if they're coming, would likely compete with the car-based Ford Maverick, not the Toyota Tacoma, which is a true, body-on-frame truck.
Actually just saw the first Dodge Hornet on the road today, all other times were at dealership lots. It looked like a bland old boring crossover driving down the road. No character.
OMG that steering is wild...I have a 2023 CR-V Hybrid & I took a road trip to Arizona, that steering was terrible & scary. Got back home & took it to honda, it was so bad they had to call executives from Japan to checkout my car...problem was fixed but now I'm having acceleration issues & honda won't do anything about it.
My question is simple. I own a well-maintained Honda 2003 EX CRV. What would either of you recommend as a way to rig the rear back glass so that it can stay open only about 5 inches and doesn't flop up all the way? I'm planning a lengthy road trip in the hot summer and I'd like to not run the A/C the whole time. I might need that back rear window open in order to transport some lengthy (non-collapsable fishing rods. Thanks for any suggestions and brainstorming you can offer!
I just called north shore honda in nyc. 3.99% for 36 months. 4.99% for 48 months to finance the honca CRV hybrids. It's been like this for quite some time. So where are you all getting info regarding interest rates?
Are you sering Audi A6 Allroad in Canada too? Maybe you mentioned that option. Maybe they didn't want to replace their A4 with another Audi. Thanks for your videos!
Lincoln vs. Lexus... over the lifetime of ownership, you'll pay more for insurance than you'll keep in resale value. Go with the one you love the most for quality, comfort, and tech. Personally, I find Lexus old and stoggy compared to the new Nauilous high-tech comfort.
love your videos Zach and Andrea. maybe you should consider going out of your comfort zone and review some Chinese EVs. its coming to north america sooner than later. btw you lucky guy zach and killer legs andrea :-}
I've been moaning about piano black since it came out. I call it "that stupid piano black" because that's exactly what it is. You guys talked about shiny gray. Well, I have a 2014 Kia Optima with slightly shiny gray plastic in parts of the dash and doors and it looks 5000 times better than that stupid piano black in new cars. I don't know who told these manufacturers that anybody wanted that. It's like when Zack talks about those weird transmission shifters. No one asked for those. No one said regular shifters were broken, so why the bloody hell are you fixing it? And with that my lecture is over.
The cx30 is my least favorite car I drove. The belt line is so high and the windows are so small. I've seen comparisons to sitting in a hot tub which would be good but not in a car.
