We take pride in our secondary schools than university. Every Ghanaian brags about their secondary school not university.

I think it’s because in those days we had 3 major universities, everyone would virtually attend the same schools so the point in differentiation was definitely which secondary school you attended. And it has just carried on into today. It’s such a beautiful thing to witness the pride we have in our schools.

Lily, that's Ghana 🇬🇭 for you. Ghana was Paradise in the late 50s to the mid 60s. Many African heroes had been once lived in Ghana including President Mugabe of Zimbabwe and Nnamdi Azikiwe of Nigeria. The whiteman realised that Ghana 🇬🇭 was becoming too powerful so they connive with bad local people(whose children are in power today) to overthrow Nkrumah. Most of the the schools you have shown so far were already there before independence. So Ghanas education had been topnotch on the continent until recently, things have not been going on well as it used to be, My uncle travelled to Nigeria in the 80s when things were not going on well in Ghana. According to him, schools which had Ghanaians teachers were topnotch in Nigeria.

The churches began but as the student population grows it becomes impossible to maintain the standard and facilities. Hence the government's intervention. The government pumps in money and build's huge edifice like bigger dinning halls, larger hostels and assembly halls to increase student intake.
