How did you determine how many pieces of wood you needed. I’m thinking about making one for my study it doesn’t have a door

I needed 32inch heights and 30inch width gate door. The wood piece itself was 2"width and I left about 3" vertical gaps in between so it was 2+3=5" so I need 30/5+1=7 pieces for vertical and 4pieces 30" for horizontal. Hope my answer can help you some ^^
