I totally agree with you! One of the great things about MJ is that she shares a connection with Peter even without being a superhero herself. They both have their own strengths and flaws, and their relationship is built on understanding and support. Absolutely agree with everything. In my head he's still 32, married with MJ living in a manhattan brownstone. They've had it rough. But they've done well for themselves. Pete's quit the Avengers and they're thinking about having a kid named after loved ones past. _That won't get murdered by Norman Osborn because that's just_ *unecessarily perverted* *_and just what are they wearing costumes FOR ANYWAY?_*

That's just BND writers doing the BND thing where the marriage is the embodiment of all evil so MJ has to be written out but has to remain around for eternal drama. The moment a non-BND writer takes the character they pair them again because everyone else knows that obvious fact.
She’s the best written love interest in comics and one of the best written female characters in comics too. Sucks that adaptations have given her a bad rep and made people misunderstand her
People who refuse to see characters grow and change do not understand that characters must change in order to stay fresh and relevant. Batman and Superman both became fathers but retained their core values and themes, Luke Skywalker became what his father could have been if Anakin stayed on the light path and had not succumed to the Dark Side, Thor wanted to be a warrior king like his father but after being sent to Earth and humbled, he realized the truth of what it meant to be a leader and a hero. Magneto was once a hateful and vengeful bigot, but over time became more accepting of mutants and even took over for Xavier. People who don't want these characters to change don't want characters, they want mascots.

Because, just as it looked her and Peter were finally getting back together for good, they ruin in one of the worst writing decisions of all time.

If you take comments made by greg weisman it seems that was the actual plan with ssm MJ (which explains some comments about peter). But yes this is a great aspect of mj, especially funny considering it was thought of by someone that expressly didn't want to pair peter and mj but did this to justify why they couldn't get paired up.
Is there an adaptation that portrays MJ's party girl persona being a facade? I'm all in for expanding MJ as a character beyond her relationship with Peter. But there are better ways to do it than giving her powers.
