Let us know who YOUR favourite Spider-Man villain is! 🤟🕸️🤔
Morlun
Gotta go Scorpion. There's so many great ones, but the Scorpion needs for people in his corner. I think the best way to put it is that he was venom before venom, the superior spider-man before superior spider-man. He was one of the first dark mirrors of Spider-man. J. Jonah Jameson created him because scorpions are natural predators of spiders. He's stronger than Spider-man, faster, he can climb walls, he even had a scorpion sense a couple times. It's no wonder why he eventually became venom.
Favourite is Doc Oc though this Goblin is probably Nemesis.
jay jonah james
The Green Goblin!!!
Stan Lee called Ock Spider-Man’s worst enemy and Goblin is Peter’s worst enemy.
I kinda see what he means but with all respect to the great and late Stan Lee
I see Goblin as "the opposite" of Spider-Man. (Peter Parker is a genuinely good and humble person with some minimal flaws and a good, albeit poor, upbringing, who has powers he didn't want forced on him and he chose to use those powers for the benefit of others due to a moral obligation and a lesson taught by his Uncle Ben soon before his death, making it act almost as if it were his final wish. And of course, Peter is a good enough person that even when his heroism goes unrewarded, or even messes with his personal life, 99 times out of 100 he will remain steadfast to Uncle Bens advice and uphold the morals that Spider-Man represents. While Norman Osborn is a victim of child abuse who grew to become an emotionally abusive father and a corrupt businessman with a vast fortune, and the more power he got the more power he craved, so much so that he purposely gave himself powers to match Spider-Mans (not with Spider-Man in mind), sometimes at the cost of his sanity and sometimes already being insane and well adjusted to fitting in with society. His Goblin persona allows him to show the most evil parts of himself. And he first became the Goblin to take over the criminal empire of New York and attain more power and wealth. Green Goblin stands in opposition of everything Spider-Man stands for. Good and bad, dark and light, up and down, wrong and right.
Doctor Octopus acts as someone who can also easily defeat Spider-Man in a fight, but is his intellectual equal/superior (depending on how smart Peter really is, idk)
Doctors Octopus is Spider-Mans **smartest** foe in my book. And that MEANS SOMETHING.
(Also, if you're wondering my thoughts on Venom, Venom is the dark reflection of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the mirror. What Spider-Man would have become if he were not so noble.)
Yeah i guess@@curtisleblanc5897

@@thegreatacolyt1277 nah, venom is more of a anti hero now
I think at this point, Venom has spent too much time being an antihero/superhero to fit the mold of being Spidey's greatest enemy. But he certainly benefitted from Norman being dead for a long time.
In the grand scheme of things, nobody's hurt Peter Parker as much as the Goblin has.
The things venom has done pale compared to what Norman has done tbh
Only In The comics
@@billyboleson2830depends
@@thegreatacolyt1277 venom has a redemption arc in the 90s animated series, unlimited, and was going to have one in spectacular. And in the ps1 game he’s a straight up good guy, web of shadows also brings up that he’s supposed to be an anti hero but the symbiote took over
@user-rc2ww7hh6i the ps1 game is straight up just the comics. No he didn't have one in the 90s series Eddie did and the actual plans for spectaculer said by the maker himself was to make him the MAIN badguy and idk about unlimited. All I'm saying is he's most of the time a villain and when he is hes a far better more interesting and better written character
Doc Ock is his greatest enemy but Gobby is his biggest opp I dunno how else to explain it

Haha! @@shanestephens4728
I love Venom because he was never really a villain. He was a Villian purely to Spider-Man. His entire existence was focused around making Peter Parker suffer, even at the cost of those around him. He doesn’t really have higher goals or motivations outside of tormenting Pete. He seems evil because all our original interactions with him are through the Spider-Man lense. Other than that, he’s fine

“He’s giving joker a run for his money,Joker has not done these types of things”
Jason Todd and Barbra gordan:what’dyou mean by that?”
He didn’t kill Barbara to be fair and Jason came back so while it’s bad, like really bad, it’s not quite on the same level. Batman and the Joker also didn’t have a personal relationship, and were enemies from the get go. Also the Joker was actually evil where as Norman was purely insane in the early days having a Banner/Hulk relationship with the Goblin. This makes it a bit less emotionally complicated for Bruce than it is for Peter.
i mean did joker bang a love interest
Barbara and Jason were heroes, his sidekicks. They knew the risks and who they were going rooftop to rooftop with from the jump. Spidey’s people? All civilians. Completely unprepared. They don’t even know why this is happening or that they have a connection to Spider-Man. And the reason writers keep trying to one up each other in the race to fuck over Peter Parker so his heinousness knows no bounds
My favorite is Herman Schultz. After building vibrational blast gauntlets with scraps in a prison workshop, you'd think he'd become some dark parallel to Iron Man but... no. He's just the Shocker. He's pragmatic to a fault--he just wants money, not vengeance or world domination. But, because he has no real aspirations beyond robbing banks, his tech has limits and he never pushes himself. He's a loser but he's not a maniac, and I like those sort of 9-to-5 professional types (Taskmaster is another villain I love, and Flash's Rogues)
Don’t forget the time he outright beat venom in a fight, was getting away with the money excitedly yelling about opening a cat sanctuary, and then he was hit by a car.
You mean Quilt-Man?
😂
It’s a shame how they wasted not only one, but two shockers in the MCU.
@@fromthethirdplanet Yeah but to be honest, he's quite a hard character to do live action I think.
There are ways to do him - like the comic where he blacked out New York to make a message in the lights for people to see - but as soon as he appears, he's wearing quilts. He'd look goofy. And if they tech him up too much, like Rhino in ASM2, then he's no longer Shocker. 🤷♂️
The MCU got away with it just but he wouldn't have enough main event status in that form to be a major player.
Shame though as I'd love to
hear Spidey tell him he can't escape him. 😇
@@JeremiahEcks777 yeah you are right (you have a fantastic profile by the way), the quilt would look a bit weird in life action (knowing Marvel they’d probably CGI it). I’m just a bit sad that they butchered two of my favorite comic book characters (Shocker and Montana/ Montana Shocker) in one movie.
The scene where Peter comes back and Green Goblin immediately knows it's him is one of my favorite scenes in all of comics, it proves that Gobby is his arch enemy
My favorite personally has always been shocker not because of the memes but because he's just normal dude and he legit puts spiderman on the back foot pretty consistently
We all know marvel editorial is actually spideys biggest enemy
Yes.
mephisto is just editorial self insert
@@dyslexicelf9380 Yes, rather.
Bad writing too is what it is.
It's between Kingpin and Tombstone for my favorite.
Green Goblin is to Spider-Man as Joker is to Batman. Venom is to Spidey what Bane is to Bats
Nah GG is to Marvel what Joker is to DC, but Doc Ock is to Spider-Man as Joker is to batman. A pure ideological opposite, someone whose mere existence shows the cracks in the Spider-Man's beliefs
Yeah. And Dr octopus to spiderman is what hugo strange is to batman
Kingpin as a Spider-man villain is something I always love.
But I'm personally more with the idea of him being the Thanos of street level heroes.
Every street level hero is gonna have to go up against him one way or another.
Hence I always feel his potential is not explored as much as it could when he's focused on defeating a single hero.
Just my opinion on it ofcourse.
Venom, Green Goblin and Ock are definitely all up there together tho Venom is definitely most loved as how much media he has been in.
His greatest villain is Paul. 😂
My favorite spiderman villains are venom, kraven, and shocker
This is why I consider Spidey's rogue gallery slightly better than Batman's. Batman's #1 villain is Joker, but you can argue Spidey's #1 villain is either Green Goblin, Venom or Dr Octapus.
No way it's Venom.
There's no argument for venom.
Carnage as well.
@@brandonamezquita4501it could
Yea you’d have a better argument for kingpin over venom.
For me it’s Doc Ock, he’s just always felt like Peter’s equal and biggest intellectual rival. In the same breath though Green Goblin is his most intimate and ruthless villain. It’s like with Doc Ock it’s a professional beef but with Green Goblin it’s an unhealthy obsession, like his inner demons manifested.
Bane is Batmans biggest physical and intellectual rival and yet Joker surpasses him
Doc is his greatest villain
@@TheBombasticFatRat Have you considered that this is a different universe and those are different characters than the ones we're talking about?
This part killed me. 0:58 the writing really has become more scary than the villains.
I think Lizard is INCREDIBLY underrated and deserves to be in the discussion for at least the top four. Not only is he by far one of spidey's strongest opponents outside of the symbiote bros, but he's also got that personal connection with Curt Connors being his friend, making him more of a tragic character. Such a shame he's been in nothing good recently, to the point that nobody really cares about him anymore, which is a bigger tragedy than Curt Conner's predicament.
I agree. Lizard is top 4 without a doubt.
As a Venom fan it's still so funny to me that alot of spider-man fans think Venom is spider-man's nemesis even though he really doesn't do anything significant to peter like even a character like kraven who with last hunt affected Peter's life more . To me the reason i love Venom ( eddie brock) is because deep down he is a pathetic loser who blames others for his own faults but slowly over the years he realises that he is a kinda fucked up and tries to improve everyday , he is pretty complex character and its sad that alot of adaptations just don't explore that besides 90s show and even just doesn't put eddie in his own story
I still think of the Lego superheroes Venom transformation animation almost everyday. Just him freaking out and ripping himself in half just for a massive version to emerge is so awesome.
Venom is easily my favorite, but Norman is the arch enemy. Green Goblin is just a complete monster.
Also, the Norman-Gwen thing has been retconned.

My personal favorite Spider-Man villain has got to be carnage. I'm just a big fan of one dimensional pure evil villains and carnage fits that bill perfectly. I mean, the man threw a baby out of a window as a distraction. Allow me to repeat myself, HE. THREW. A. BABY. OUT. OF. A. WINDOW. AS. A. DISTRACTION!

Awesome video! Would love to see this kind of video with the X-men’s villains
green goblin = joker for spiderman
Venom = somewhat like Bane for spiderman resembles Dark knight batman bane trained in shadow stuff that batman was trained in.
Rhino has always been my favourite Spider-Man villain visually and narratively. A true antithesis of Spider-Man’s brain with overwhelming brawn. Rhino also strongly represents the tragic nature of many Spider-Man’s villains, where great power does not manifest into great responsibility. Rhino is also super nostalgic for me as he was the first villain I ever saw Spiderman face off against in the 1960’s tv run that played on my retro tv channel.
Edit: Honestly though spidey’s got one of the best rogues galleries of all time. He’s got a bunch of phenomenal villains.
I agree with that Superior Spider-Man take..... That story is literally my FAVORITE Spider-Man story... And I'm from the old school...... Liked and subscribed....👍🇹🇹
I’ve always thought Green Goblin was his arch nemesis, but all of the stuff you said about Doc Oc I think makes him a great contender
The Gwen stuff was all retcon it was Mysterio messing with his mind, honestly now I think about they kinda did the same stuff with Paul and Mj yeah Paul it’s him he’s Spider Man Nemesis
Paul actually is the secret answer, yes
Green Goblin will always be my favorite Spidey nemesis because... I freaking love goblins. So I'm very partial but inbetween classic issue, Dafoe performance and Ultimate Green Goblin who I thought was lame until I read the comics to discover a terrifying Villain... GG is kind of legit. Spectacular Spider-Man Goblin was to me the only one who really managed to find a sweet spot where his design feel not too ridiculous. It's hard to pin down his character inbetween personnality disorder or master manipulator the line got blurred but it kind of add to the mystique.
Problem is that it's very hard to make the "whodunit" aspect of this character that was one of his original appeal nowadays, Spectacular is the only medium where they really got mileage out of this mistery appart from the comics.
It's kind of lame they have done the goblin storyline so many times in the comics with a new goblin everytime they want to lean in the "whodunit" aspect again. Most of later goblin actually have better design than the original yet they feel redundant appart from Harry.
Awesome vid lol
I need to rewatch this and do a “Spire-Man” counter 😂
For me it's Doc Ock. Doc Ock is who Peter could have become if he didnt get his lesson of Great Responsibility
The top tier clearly only contains the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Venom…. I think Marvel editorial wants it to be Green Goblin… but it probably depends on what era they grew up in… 60’s probably thinks Green Goblin, 70’s probably thinks Doc Ock, the 80’s is actually maybe Hobgoblin? 90’s is Venom… 2000-present is probably Green Goblin (except for Doc Ock’s Superior run) unless you count Joe Quesada and Marvel editorial
I gotta go with Scorpion. He doesn’t get enough love and plus a scorpion is the natural predator of a spider.
Venom has always been my favorite villain for one simple reason, some muggers could be robbing a lady for her purse and he'd show up to help her, but god forbid if spider-man swung by he'd fucking drop that lady from a building top to get spider-man 😂
Hey fellas, where Kraven?
He’s tough, but Spider-Man holds back on kraven.

Three AMAZING villains🔥🕷️
Alot of people considered The Death of Gwen as the End of the Silver Age and not necessarily the Bronze age. However, it will always stand as a great and tragic moment in comics. Damn Norman! Also Norm being behind the clone saga was bogus. Even the original( when getting fired) writer urged the staff to not blame Norman...which Marvel blamed anyway. Damn exec's...
Generally it’s considered the line between the silver age and Bronze Age so it’s both Silver AND Bronze Age.
When Spider-Man and Batman teamed up in one of the DC/Marvel crossovers, it was Carnage that teamed up with Joker, wasn't it?
So that's my vote. It's an unusual pick because there's nothing particularly personal between them, but if the writers of the crossover thought Carnage was a good match for Joker while Batman and Spider-Man were teamed up, they must've had some reason to not choose the Goblin.
Doctor Octopus IS Spider-Man's greatest villain, while Green Goblin IS Peter Parker's arch nemesis.
Come to think of it, Doc Ock has always been about besting Spidey, and being more superior than him. While Goblin has always been about trying to destroy Peter, and making his life a living hell, his one and only mission/obsession in life.
Regarding Venom. Venom is Spider-Man's darker reflection. He is more about challenging Spider-Man's worldview and demonstrating Spidey's darkest desires.
I actually have a good idea I think the comic lads could pull off nicely: What would we do if we ran Sony?
This is a list of projects I’d consider doing:
1)Spectacular Spider-Man season 3-4
2) Spiderman 2099 Movie
3)Venom Vs. Spiderman with AG
4)Animated Peter Parker Series (older man with daughter)
5)Animated Spider-Gwen(from spiderverse) spin off movie
Short answer is we’d sell all the rights back to Marvel💀
@@comiclads def a fair answer. I think I’d be nervous to give the rights over to Marvel knowing that Disney would own them. I’d have to give it a shot at a few spidey movies to see if any of them have potential
Ohh man. Can we get Indian Spiderman to go on ventures with her? Like, spider Gwen has her show and sometimes the others show up.

There should be categories to this, like Spider-Man's biggest physical threat, biggest intellectual/psychological opponent, and overall biggest enemy.
i very like Electro and Sandman just because of their powers. damn, so cool enemies to fight and see their fights with Spidey
I think my favourite villain is doc oc, mainly because of the 2018 game. That final dialogue of Peter and doc oc is just. Chef’s kiss.
Depsite being Spidermans nemesis… Goblin has rarely appeared as a major villain in any of the video games until recently with the 3rd insomniac game. It’s for this reason that I think venom is mistaken by the general audience for being his nemesis
I would love to see more of these with different heroes
🔮
15:42 nah, joker’s done absolutely deplorable things to Batman & his family 😭. Literally killed his child
Can we get this as a series? Maybe just as a discussion on the most popular villains. But for example Wonder Woman can be fun for a format like this
Carnage is my favourite villain because he really pushed the Heroes no killing rule as far as possible. Also, he didn't bang Gwen, so he's automatically a better person then Norman
Short answer:
Venom: Arch Rival (Similar to Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy)
Dr Octopus: Arch Nemesis (Peter's opposite in a scientific genius with powers also based on an animal with 8 appendages)
Green Goblin: Arch Enemy (Norman Osborn is the greatest enemy to Peter Parker and has caused more personal trauma to him than any other villain. Their battles are always personal.)
Also, I'm going to add this: Green Goblin was the first villain to discover Spider-Man's secret identity. That was long before Gwen's death and I personally think that should count as the first thing he has done to Peter.
Really great points🔥🫡
Green Goblin is easily the best Spider-Man villain. Take Joker's crazy, Reverse-Flash's pettiness and Lex Luthor's money and combine into one. It's just entertaining to what all the crazy shit Green Goblin comes up with to make Pete's life worse. Plus, if a writer gets stuck in the writer's block or don't know how to finish a storyline (see Clone Saga). It's easy to just say Norman did. He hooked up with Harry's girlfriend and in a "What If" story unintentionally unalived himself by erasing his abusive father from history.
Jackal is also a great villain, albeit a very confusing one.
You guys seem cool. I'll sub. By any chance, do you update to Odysee? I use it for when i get tired of the ads. Thankfully, there weren't any for this video. I spoke too soon
The comparison at the end between Joker and Goblin is exactly how I feel. Green Goblin may be Spider Man's greatest enemy, but Doc Ock is a FAR better character.
I feel like everyone who's fought spiderman could be considered his greatest vilain if everyone can't agree that its doc ock or green goblin or venom or blah blah blah. I mean scorpion is supposed to be spidermans equal in strength or something, otto is like whatever equal with peter's intelligence... stuff like that
Certainly not venom because venom became a goofy antihero. Green goblin absolutely
Tbh I like the thumbnail of the video. :D
Venom literally turns Spider-Man evil… Goblin just flies around laughing..
I'd use to say JJJ, but they became friends, so now I'm saying Mafesto for one more day reset
Kraven can have a case made as well.

0/10, this video should have been a 20 minute character analysis of The Wall
Yo, you should do this for The Flash! I've seen a lot of debate over it being Reverse Flash, Gorilla Grodd, or Captain Cold.
something that wasn't mentioned was the start of/reason for back in black where kingpin gets may shot (granted on accident) which has peter wear the black suit again to just beat the crap outta him
His greatest villain is the Marvel writers. They are the worst.
My favourite has got to be hob goblin bc of his mystical powers
I don’t really have a favorite spider-man villain but if I had to pick I’d say kingpin
I’d love to see a series centered around green goblin and him fighting other villains in a quest for supremacy in his universe.
Venom, but specifically the TAS Venom. He was amusing to watch in his interactions with Spider-Man. Also they had built up Eddie Brock’s hatred of spidey before being bonded with the symbiote. He took a sick twisted glee in his fight with Spider-Man. A enjoyable villain to watch.
I think in a recent issue (in the current 2022 Volume), Spider-Man referred to Doc Ock as his greatest enemy. Personally, i think Otto is the best written and drawn villain overall, and the most epic nemesis to Spider-Man the superhero. The stories with Otto are just more epic and inspiring. But the Green Goblin is his most traumatizing personal enemy.
Can’t even pick one villain cause I love them all
Eddie Brock is Peter’s rival as both a photographer and a villain thus being the better candidate, he’s always trying to be better than Peter or take him out whether he’s Venom or he’s just taking photos.
Harias un video asi con Batman?
El poder de joker es su sobreexplotación
some of my favourite spiderman villains have always been sandman and electro (I just really like superheroes/ villains with electric powers, think static shock from dc or the skrill from httyd), and the spiderverse's prowler has definitely stolen my heart with his insurmountable levels of pizzazz
along with the usual gobby and venom love
as for Spidey's greatest foe it's always been between venom and goblin for me but from the points you've brought up in this video gobby is probably his greatest tormentor at least
My favorite Spider-Man villain is Kraven the Hunter.
"Peter it's me"
Reading most Batman and Spider-Man rogues' galleries most heinous deeds: Wow, that was pretty messed up but at least they were stopped.
Reading Joker and Goblin's most evil moments: Jesus christ.
Goblin needs to show up marvel editorials to truly win number one.
My favourite spider-man villain is and always has been mysterio
I love the look, I love the fishbowl head, it's so ridiculous and so over the top, I love that he has no powers, he's just a con man master manipulator and illusionist, he always feels like he's having fun just toying with Spider-man when they fight and I love the FFH version too where they really emphasised how petty and insecure and narcissistic he is because it's always been there in his character but the comics usually overlook those terrifying real world aspects of him, the fact that he is actually just a sociopath who craves attention and recognition and will stop at nothing to get it
Spider-Man’s actual worst enemy debate isn’t green goblin vs doc ock it is The Wall vs Big Wheel
I don’t have a favorite tbh but some of my favorite stories although not so popular I don’t think I can’t remember the issues so forgive me but there was one where kingpin had until midnight to kill Spider-Man because his wife asked him to give up crime, or another favorite is when Venom trapped him on and island and cant popping up everywhere one step ahead😂
I can't lie. A composite, fusion, hybrid or whatever of Green Goblin and Venom would have been pure nightmare fuel!😳
Red Goblin/Carnage i guess???
I get what you mean by Norman being a bit to cartonishly evil with 0 redeeming qualities, but honestly thats exactly why he's my fav. He's just such a huge, uncompromised, petty piece of shit who goes to literally ANY lenght to just fuck with spiderman in increasingly elaborate ways that at this point its just hillariously amusing.
Also, one of my favorite moments in spiderman comics is during superior when Pete gets his body back, says exactly 1 quip back to norman and he INSTANTLY recognizes it's no longer Otto in that body, this man is fucking obssesed and I live for his beef.
To this day I hate that they made his literal multiversal predator a frickin twilight knock off, it should have been some sort of frog abomination.
osborns redeeming quality is his fuckig WAVES
My favorite Spider-Man villain is Dr. Octopus. Green Goblin would be Spider-Man's arch-nemesis if Marvel had left him dead back in '73. Harry becoming the Goblin in '74 was a good story, but then it got ridiculous Harry's psychiatrist became the Goblin, and whatever respect I had for character went away he was retconned back to life after 20 years by a healing factor of all things.
Goblin
Venom
Doc
Carnage
Kingpin
Hobgoblin
Mysterio
Sandman
Rhino
Kraven
Jackal
Electro
Shocker
Its 100% Green Goblin BUT him, venom and doc ock all work as main antagonists to a spiderman saga. If you want to have Peter Parker tested, use Goblin. If you want to have spiderman tested, use Doc Ock. If you want to have morality tested, use Venom. All three attack a different aspect of the character which is why they all work so well.
Favorite villains for me have been Hobgoblin and Shocker. Shocker is just that down to earth guy who took up super villainy for one reason: To make money. He is rarely out to hurt anyone and he is such a much more rational guy that he is a lot more jovial with Spider-man. Even heroes like She Hulk and Rogue have connected with him. He is the type to talk first before the fight starts. And he is brilliant for creating his own tech even if he seems of average intelligence.
Hobgoblin is so much more terrifying in that he always seems to have a back way out if situations. Body doubles, mind control and he helps explain how a villain gets murdered and shows up later. He just sells the identity and costume to anyone with the cash.
