Once people scrape-up their $1500 monthly car payment and insurance premiums because they had to have that new vehicle, they can collect bottles and cans for deposit refunds and buy some gas. People buy cars on emotions, with a dose of denial. I can't speak for Canada, but practicality and living within one's means is not the American way.
You are right, and while I know some people who value savings, the facts are many people cherish the newest shiny toy.
Lot of that in Australia too. Lol Marks comparisons especially the interiors. They all looked a bit 1980s inspired to me.
You'd have to collect 1000 bottles a day to fill up the tank on some of those guzzlers.
@@fmint63extraordinaire81 True! And good credit always leads to bad credit, because credit is a living parasitic entity always looking for a new host!
Canada is no better
I love my Lexus gx 460. I actually get 20mpg on the highway which isn’t bad.
True it’s not bad if it’s used primarily on freeway and highway journeys. Super dependable as well.
But gas at is 5 dollars per gallon.
My Tesla costs $25/mo to drive. Basically free compared to my $400/mo gas guzzler.
Plus insurance costs are going up with all the bad drivers, no fault insurance, fraudulent claims, and ambulance chasing lawyers.
I had a 2008 Infiniti qx56 that got around 14MPG but I fit a 7’ Christmas tree inside with 4 adult passengers and closed the tailgate with space to add!
That Nissan behemoth is almost immortal!
Whew! No shortage of ash falling from the sky up there, neighbor!
Great compilation of fuel suckage. I’m old and once had a ‘70 Z28 that I proudly boasted was able to achieve *EIGHT* in city driving…(you know, stoplight to stoplight 😂😂😂)
You’re a super star and I know I’ve worked with many in my lifetime
This video is 10 stars out of five stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Bravo
My very best wishes always from Las Vegas Craíg
I look forward to your next video 😊
I’m sharing it with family and friends
Wow, thank you
But are you having fun? My RX350 numbers are right behind the GX. Great informative vid as always!
Another great video. The quality of his man's videos is top-notch all the time.
Agree
I rented a Grand Cherokee trackhawk and yeah had to fill up 3 times and wasn't cheap.
Great video Mark. I had to use a Nissan Armada for 2 weeks as it was the only rental vehicle available It ate gas like it was free. I hated that thing. It rode like a beast mobile too. Enjoy your videos. Thanks.
My E60 M5 V10 totally sucks. You know as you have or had one.
it came down for me to what i want and what i need ..i wanted a Mustang GT or Hell cat but i needed a small car ..went with what i need ..corolla cross 😂
The new 2023 Escalade V with the supercharged V8 probably will get down to 9 or 10 mpg in the city and 15 on the highway. And the price of US $149000. 😬
If youre paying 149k on an Escalade you don't care about getting 9mpg
I doubt anybody’s getting an Escalade V for $149k. $75-100k over sticker is all I’ve seen
My '99 F350 4x4 v10 manual gets 12city, 14.5 approx, highway
Vehicles that have the worst fuel economy are the second-generation, 1996 to 2004 Nissan Pathfinder with the 3.3 L and the 3.5 L V6 engine with any transmission and the 1982 to 2005 Chevrolet (S-10) Blazer/GMC (S-15) Jimmy with any transmission, as well. Thank you very much.
True...but my 03 qx4 is smooth quiet reliable and fairly quick unfortunately gas isn't great but I don't have much of a commute
I’ve never seen one of those Nissan suvs on the roads lol
Go to saudi arabia 😊
I rented a 2019 Armada for a day. Loved it. It was HUGE and every other car/ SUV looked tiny compared to it while you're behind the wheel... Had to return it for something much smaller cause it wouldn't fit in the parking spot where I live. I enjoyed it tho
The real issue with Dodge supercharged vehicles or their 392 engines is not so much how much gas it uses . But what gas it uses $ Premium only 💰 usually 70 to 90 cents a gallon extra over regular " Ouch
'fisher price and tupperware'😂
Dude you got my respect you’re a damn good salesman and your fucking bright as hell dude.
By the way, this is my new favorite channel. I watched probably a dozen Videos in two days already. bro you’re good.
Hey Mark! Thank you for yet another interesting and informative presentation. Your description of the Dodge Challenger interior, is a real doozy: *_"feels like a glad garbage bag pulled over some foam"._* Congratulations, Sir! 👏 🎉 *_It seems likely that many of your viewers would be delighted to be looked after by a car salesman with your insights and turn of phrase, who is prepared to price these garbage bag wrapped gas guzzlers, accordingly!_* So, back to the real world for now. Cheers! 😊🌟✨👏
I see this video and i think its common sense. But maybe someone out there with no knowledge about cars and two kids want to daily a LX or a GX. When a UX,NX or RX would suffice.
That’s true and those are some of the most reliable truck frame type SUVs, but they are also known for their gas guzzling abilities
Those huge Nissan SUVs our niece has one and l always joke about its size they are enormous
Holy crap 14mpg, I drive PHEV, I got upset below 50mpg
Mark, back in the day when I had single digit, gas guzzling 60's muscle cars, I looked to the future when magically, fuel economy would be amazing. (Cue laughter)
These days, I care more about reliability than any gas guzzling. The Mercedes 6.9? Now that was a gas guzzler. I drove an armored version. 5 mpg.!! (it wasn’t mine).
😅😅😅 my infiniti has that Armada Engine 5.6L i know how that feels 😅
I have a tundra a couple of 4r's and a 460. I am proud of my carbon footprint.
Haha same with my Jag F Type V8 and BMW V10 in the M5
Don't forget the Lexus IS 3.5L AWD, 13.5L/100km in Edmonton winter, you wouldn't think that's a sedan.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😳 my 23 yr old f250 gets 11mpg……. & that’s when it’s not pulling a trailer, then it gets about 8……. But it’s a work truck, not a daily driver
Nice video with some inconsistencies, e.g. Durango R/T hast 5.7 HEMI, not 6.4 like SRT does. Anyways, hard to disagree that these are gas guzzlers, but recommending European cars with similar performance but way better fuel economy is a bit weird. How many hundreds of thousands of km one needs to drive to offset much higher price of most of these European equivalents? I myself consider Armada as this is one of the last simple and reliable off-road capable machines that can also pull 8,500 lbs. What car from Europe will do this? Land Rover Discovery comes close, but at starting price of C$102k. Armada is ~C$75k. How long it takes to use gasoline worth C$27k?
My Genesis G70 3.3t gets 17 in the city and 24 on the highway. I average 17.0 because i don't drive on the highway and it's all premium 😂
A Rouch engine on a pickup? 😂 Love the 150, but that's crazy
Great examples of what defines " tank".
Haha for sure Thomas. It seems a little excess for a utility type vehicle, but it seems some take it to another level, lol
Shelby makes an even more ridiculous F150. 760 HP, supercharged V8
these Armadas are basically Nissan Patrols a well known SUV in Arab region . powerful and very capable offroaders. Arabs love it !
you should have added the price to full it up
Drove 800km yesterday from Salmon Arm BC to Edmonton on a 2017 BMW X5 xDrive35i (320hp 3.0L 6cyl turbo). I was getting 8.0L/100km (29mpg, beating BMW claim by at least 2mpg) on Eco Pro following all speed limits with the current premium gas prices I would have spent $92 CAD on a 800km (500 mi) drive. Not bad but for a 4500lbs SUV.
The GX is 15/20. If you behave yourself 24 is possible. A close friend has one and he matches my 13 Highland 4wd closer than I you would think. Where I see 17/24 north of 75mph 22hwy, in his 460 I see 16/22 and 20 if I am over 75mph.
The GX is actually ok on mpg, but it takes premium.
Pickup trucks aren't even practical, they won't fit in most parking spaces, are heavy, and manuverability and handling are lackluster. The bed isn't even that big anyways
LOL man Mark you crack me up brother awesome job thanks.
Thanks so much
I think I have the same sweater
Fisher Price and Tupperware... Bwahahaha
Haha
What do you think of Mercedes E350 overall ?
My is500 has terrible mpg
They are guzzlers
I'm surprised that I get over 20mpg in my escalade.
Cylinder deactivation?
@ECPP yes, not my favorite thing but haven't had any issues yet.
Did I miss the Chevy Suburban?
That euro wagon ur talking about is gonna break down every six months…… what u save in gas u will more than make up for in maintocost😂😂😂😂 I’ll keep the hemi. Bad gas, but reliable engine
Did u make a video about rdx vs cx5 yet?
My v6 lexus IS makes 22-23mpg in city driving so I can confirm lexus ain’t the best in fuel economy once you hit those larger engine sizes
Sometimes I wonder if it’s leaking fuel
It seems like that sometimes
14 mpg out of a big block Chevy or ford…..? In what universe,????? I’ve had both, 460 ford, 454 Chevy….. try 8-9 mpg….. not pulling a trailer…… maybe the Canadian conversion is 14 mpg I don’t know
If not driving alot of miles.
Poor MPG is not an issue.
More Power is just enough.
Life is too short to drive boring cars man
Since one litre is 3.7851 gallons, $2 per litre is the equivilent of $7.57 per gallon!
Indeed, things are getting really pricey here in Canada
The lucky car brands are the ones you don't know they exist
Glad my 2 litre 180hp Corolla hybrid station wagon uses 52mpg outside town. City driving is very difficult to estimate fuel consumption as it sometimes shows 60mpg, other times 39mpg. 38 mpg with mixed driving in the winter. It all depends on where you drive and the voltage of the battery. But I'm not often at the fuel pump. Not a super exciting car, but it is comfortable, practical, does not break your bank account, or let you down. 😊
My dad is lucky if he gets 20 mpg on the highway in his V6 F150. I asked him why he didn’t get the V8 and he said the only V8 option he had was the 5.4 3v Triton and he’d rather spend the money on gas than having the engine rebuilt. The V6 is a dog but it’s enough for what he needs it for, which is a work truck that can make trips to Lowe’s. He has another car for grocery use etc
new tundra is as thirsty as old V8 ... in real life scenarios ... not good ... from happy owner except gas milage ...
I owned the Nissan XTerra. A genuine gas hog, and it was a six cylinder. That vehicle fell apart before reaching 100,000 miles😊
lexus think always in write way ,,, put system lpg
Nice
Let's go with Ferrari Purosange
Who cares about the gas price only joy is important. ha ha ha
Average car owners do not care about fuel costs because not understand
When I fuel up my car standing back at to pump not wanting to see how fast run the display and the numbers of $$$
When I loudly say we getting ripped well many of those correct citizens looking on me as an Idiot.
Hey Mark if you think these numbers are bad try driving in San Francisco like me. With the hills you can expect 20% worse mpg on all of these. ☠️
and those Lexus' guzzle Premium!😮
Smiles per gallon
You can add a 2019 RDX ASpec. 8 to 9 mpg in NYC driving ( City Traffic). Highway around 30 city is piss poor driving like grand pa.
Bigger engine bigger gas consumption. Just ride a Prius!!! All day, everyday.....
11 mpg is an absolute mockery to buyers no matter how much money they have, this is ridiculous
My GX460 is the reason I won't sell my Camry!!!😆😆😆😆😆😆
Camry is a gold
@@yournightmare9999 I bought mine one year old in 2011...it's the go-to car when a family member needs one...My GX460 is getting its stolen cats replaced, and Momma is very content to drive the Camry till the GX is repaired...😃😃😃😃😃😁
No horsepower is free....
2015 jag coupe ftype 380 hp 45000km asking $54000 clean car fax ... what do I need to look for??
Thanks Trev
Love your channel
I had an Acura RDX A-Spec that was rated at 20/27MPG and in the real world, I got 15/20. Moved to California and the house we have has solar. Got me thinking about getting an EV. I know you don't care for the Tesla, but I just purchased one. A friend has one and after 5 years, no issues at all. Thousands saved by not buying gas and they also have Solar so it costs pennies to drive. Same with me, I have solar on my house so it will cost pennies for me also. No oil changes, transmission issues. Tesla has been around for a long time and they have most of the bugs worked out. Regarding their charging network, it's the best.
That’s interesting to hear for sure. I know there are a lot more charge stations accessible in Cali too so range and access are less of an issue. I know up here in the Tundra, the charge stations are fewer and further between which makes anxiety real. Would love to hear further updates as you go.
People who cam afford a mega Lexus SUV don't prioritize MPG..... they value comfort and safety over MPG....
Dodges are really beautiful at the outside but inside, well etc etc
That Nissan was designed not to compete with the trucks.
It was actually designed to go toe to toe with the Toyota land cruiser. They are almost spec for spec the same.
In Australia the LandCruiser was developed for the brutal climate and conditions.
It's so damn durable that it became an icon and people spend massive money to get them. Nissan wanted a slice of that pie for years, even Mitsubishi tried to take the crown that Toyota held for near 50 years.
The Lexus is built off our LandCruiser for example. They also come in a twin turbo V8 diesel here.
The GX460 is suspiciously similar to the 2020 Montero Sport via side.
There is one car that is even more fuel-thirsty than those cars listed in the video:
Bugatti Chiron
That’s fair
The Fact you had to even EXPLAINE............
A challenger sporting a sun roof makes me barf.
A hellcat should never have such an ornament.
You need to own a petrol (gas) station to buy any of these. The engineers must have been drunk or climate change deniers to chuck these on us!
That’s totally true, that alone can destroy a wallet
we are the peoples rich or poor who made the dicission to kept gas prices high and higher.
