On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

Klingon is the most used non existent language in the galaxy.
Look up the Klingon knife "d'k tahg" it's the same shape as the Su-47

Su-47 was a proof of concept for carrier mission. Flight prototype never had radar installed.

I think you’ve got an entire series you can produce with the Su-47 vs everything it could have faced in combat, both BVR and dogfights. Maybe combine a BVR with a best of 3 dogfights into each opponent’s video. We love long videos. Take on all US fighters, F-35, F-22, F-18 (super and legacy), F-16, F-15 EX and C, F-14. Even A-10 guns only would be fun. Then take on European challengers, Eurofighter, Gripen, Mirage. Then face off against all Chinese and North Korean fighters. The Israeli Air Force variants could be possible foes, also. Then even match it against all Russian fighters, including Su-57.
The Su-47 is such an interesting design, it would be great to see its potential had it ever gone into production.
The American forward swept wing version used three computers to keep it level that's what I heard years ago, and I believe that's why forward swept fighters didn't become a big thing. Berkut vs the American forward swept wing version, also I LOVE when you end a successful video showing the internal weapons bay.
The American counterpart doesn't exist in DCS.
By the time this was in development computers keeping the plane stable was pretty common. The US X29 was flown 10 years before this and that concept wasn't widely excepted yet. Russia stopped development of the Berkut because they never solved the material issues of the stresses being generated by the forward swept wings. That and Russia was pretty much broke.
I'd imagine it has to do with forward swept wings possibly generating huge radar returns not to mention stealth aircraft are being a proven and successful concept by that time forward swept wings were deemed unnecessary especially with bvr technology maturing.

Awesome video, loved the tracking you did for where the missiles fired at you ended up. It really does a lot when you have this kind of BVR fight, there's a lot of maneuvering, but it's hard to tell how it all plays out sometimes since there's a lot of "I think I defeated it."

It was meant to be a Soviet stealth fighter later on in its development. When the U.S.S.R fell all that fell through and the prototype was left in its non-stealthy state. There are images online of the ideas thwy had for a more complete design and you can see the stealth shaping and a few other changes.

Dogfight idea: rather than a head-on merge, try a side-by-side, same altitude, heading & airspeed fight start. The only restriction is that the flyers must first turn 30° away from each other at the start.

In a dual-purpose world I suppose there would be some value in FSW as a light attack aircraft where something else existed like the MiG i.42 for the air superiority role, but the demand shifted to Multirole around the same time. Su-47 is still an oddball with a wing suited to light fighting but on a beast with MiG-31 engines.

Nice video as always. You never fail to amaze. It was pretty nice to see you flying the Berkut. I would love to see a dogfight in the Berkut since it's forward swept wings was supposed to give it better trans sonic performance. I think the Viper or the Hornet will be a formidable opponent for the Berkut.

The Su47 against the Raptor or Felon would be interesting. You could also do fights against the F16, F18, F35, Su 35, su37/27
The Firkin/Berkut also has S-ducted engines, which is stealthier than what the Su-57 ended up with.

First I'd see how it performs against its brethren in the form of the most up to date flanker or something. But in the long run we gotta get SU-47 vs EF Typhoon, F-22, F16, Rafale, A10, Mirage guns only fights. The most popular ones you could do some HOBS dogfights as well.

Regarding the stealthiness of the SU-47, it is supposed to be LO and not semi-stealth like the SU-57 or fully stealth like the F-35.
As for dogfighting with this beast of aircraft: Pit it against the YF-23, both have no TVC but have amazing maneuverability nontheless.
