Fun fact: Scar's real name is Taka, meaning garbage. Mufasa means king. No wonder Scar is so bitter.
Also, hes brother gave him that nickname, which is f up
Lion guard was peak 🔛🔝
Also also female lions find black manes more attractive
Imagine having garbage as the meaning of your name and having a name "scar" because you have a scar
Why do i sound mean
It can also mean 'want' which i guess also kinda fits because he wanted what his brother had but im sure the creators meant trash
When Mufasa said "before sunrise, he's your son" is referencing how everything the light touches is the king's, so before sunrise, Simba belongs to his mother lmao.
That’s cool!
Ok that is actually hilarious xD
Dad moment fr
Especially considering how the lionesses did the hunting and Mufasas major job is babysitting. Stay at home dads need a break too 😂
That’s how divorce custody works.
Zazu: He’d make a very handsome throw rug
Meanwhile Scar in Hercules:
that's called foreshadowing
Yep
14:08 Nala's attractive eyes really takes the "In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the Lion sleeps tonight" to a whole another level.
Fr 💀
Oh, Nala doesn't intend to sleep...
he really slept in her jungle fr

I still can’t believe the live action movie from 2019 turned “Be Prepared” into an edgy poem. That’s my favorite Disney Villain Song!
They. Did. WHAT.
@@Mugruncher they were going to remove the song entirely, reportedly because of the imagery related to N*zi Germany and old ww2 newsreels that visually relate Scar's uprising to the rise of f*scist states. There was backlash when this decision was leaked to the general public, so they decided, after they were already mostly through production, to re-add the scene to the film, but they changed a lot of plot points around it that make it no longer make sense. Scar doesn't know the hyenas in the remake, so the, 'be prepared' scene is him *meeting* them. On top of the rushed production and rewrites, Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar's voice actor in the remake) is not a singer. Thus, the song is no longer a song, more like a spoken lyric poem with rythmic chanting in the background.
@@rozmarinideas5340 but isn’t the WHOLE POINT OF HIS CHARACTER?? Hes a villain who rose to power through violence, betrayal, scheming, manipulation, secret armies that became official when it was too late to stop them, yknow STUFF FASCIST LEADERS ARE KNOWN FOR???
ALSO does nobody else find it insane that we’re not allowed to talk about horrible things that historically happened???? Like SHOULDNT we be allowed to talk about history TO KEEP IT FROM REPEATING???
I just. I find it weird. And I’m mad that a catchy song that fully captured that horror in a child friendly way wasn’t included in the movie and I’ve never been more glad I didn’t bother watching that movie
@@rozmarinideas5340 (sorry if that sounded aggressive towards you, your comment was very informative, I’m just mad at a movie I’ve never seen lol)
F THE LIVE ACTION
4:37 Holy crap you're right. In a roundabout kind of way, Scar helped Simba become who he is
Idk, I think Mufasa would have intervened before he let Simba grow up to be a pos.
it's almost as if hardships are part of our histories and who we become
or something
@InevitableOption-ic2vx I love how Ultron's tone and word choice sounds intimidating and dismissive, like the Avengers and humanity aren't even worth his time, but he's basically just admitting to them that he's scared shitless of them (or at least something like them). Even though he's mocking them he's recklessly revealing his weaknesses. Genuinely a well written narcissist.
@@dangersquirrel4868I agree. Mufasa and Nala were good parents.
Simba became a bum by hanging out with Timon and Pumba. It took Rafiki and a vision of Mufasa to bring him back.
@@shorewall *Sarabi
Nala was the love interest.
as a kid i could cite this movie word for word and scene for scene, i acted the movie out with toys when i was bored
OMG I did the same thing with shark tales and over the hedge, but except I did it with my hands
I still remember the whole thing. I watched the whole movie in my head when i was having an mri yesterday
I did the same thing. I watched this movie ever night before I went to bed. I still do 20 years later.
I wish they kept scars cut scene but made it less creepy so it makes sense why Nala would go to find help. Long story short, scar tries to make nala his queen to have kids and she rejects him, so he forcefully banishes her by calling out the hyenas, but it could’ve worked better if scar went for Simbas mom instead and she told nala to get help
You should check out the Broadway version because they put that in there! The song is called “The Madness of King Scar” and it’s seriously so good! It makes the story have way more levels and it in my opinion it’s one of the best songs!
Scar going after Simba's mom also works well with the whole Hamlet parody lol
“Oh yes, the past can hurt. But you can either run from it, or learn from it.”
I miss when Disney actually taught kids how to grow up.
I mean, to be fair, if you had to expect for a freaking corporation to teach kids how to do that we are already fucked
@@matheussanthiago9685Lessons can come from anywhere. But it can be a good thing when an incredible piece of art helps teach a life lesson or help kids process something like grief. Disney making bank off of Lion King doesn't detract from the positive impact that this movie and those of its era had on so many growing youth.
It’s a really great message for all!
Old good, new bad
Agreed, those movies helped me with a lot of things in childhood 😊
It is kinda funny how the hyena's entire stake in this is "we would like to not starve to death anymore"
it’s actually more like “we want to eat all the time, and don’t care about exhausting all food populations”
their greedy and do not care about the balance of nature (circle of life)
Y'all talking about Nala being the furry awaking nah. It was scar.
Chat I can't keep defending furries if y'all say stuff like this 😭
Simba for me. Dweamy softboy
Ooh, tbh it has to be Simba. He's more then just cute in those scene
@@leontriestoart dude we’re fucking weirdos man, you can’t expect us to be normal just so strangers can defend us online.
Nah, Kovu was the furry awakening
14:49 This is an actual plot element in Kimba the White Lion, (that show that everybody says The Lion King plagerised from but not really, it's a whole conspiracy theory but that's besides the point) where the corpse of Kimba's deceased father regularly gets carried around by Kimba and everybody treats it as just an everyday thing. There is an episode of Kimba where he actually wears the corpse to "inspire" everybody by helping them remember how great of a king he was. I wish I was exaggerating, but it's as real as it
I just don’t like how people think The Lion King ripped off Kimba because they look alike. They compare a movie to a plethora of series and movies. But at least we can all joke about it noe
@@yoshi_chuck05 YMS ended the war, and we're all so grateful.

It used to be that, but they changed it!
Lion King 2 made me want to name a future daughter "Kiara".
Which would be weird if the name wasn't both a Nigerian and Irish one, so it works.
Kiara/Chiara/Clara are all variations of the same name, and they are very common in Italy and neighboring countries. I had no idea Kiara was a Nigerian name as well
Kiara (key-ah-ra) "royal daughter" in Swahili
Ciara (see-air-ah) from the Italian form of Claire- _Chiara:_ "bright/clear"
Sierra (see-air-ah) "mountain range" in Spanish, popularized by _Sierra Nevada:_ "snowy mountains"
Ciara (keer-ah) feminine form of Irish _Ciar_ and _Ciarán_ (keer, keer-in "dark-haired one, little dark-haired one")
Wow Kiara is one of my favorite names that I like, because of how it sounds and also the meanings it has.
My sister is named kiara cause of the movie, lol.
Oohh I have a sister named Chiara too hehe

5:20 The hyena racism is real, considering that hyenas are actually way better hunters than lions, and it's much more common for lions to scavenge and steal kills from other animals than it is for hyenas. Bunch of propaganda coming from Zazu in this movie.

The first four minutes are a definitive example of one of the greatest opening scenes in motion picture history. And Hans Zimmer's score is just as iconic.
This movie made me so emotional 🥹. One of my favorite Disney animated movies 🦁.
The Lion King is my favorite Disney movie of all time
11:39 It was 4 or 5 years. It takes male lions 4 or 5 years to become adults, and Simba turned from a baby to an adult
2:49I THOUGHT HE WAS ACTUALLY SAYING THIS FOR A SEC LOL
SAME, AHAHAHA. ON SECONS I WAS SO CONFUSED!
I've read in articles that the reason that all the Moms in particular in those Classic movies die, is actually really depressing. 🤦♀️
Apparently Walt Disney had bought his parents a house, and his mother died inside from some gas leak. He always went on to blame himself for her death and writing it in his films was almost like...facing the trauma while also not facing it or something.
Mufasa didnt die for this title
01:44 fun fact: James Baxter DID animate for this movie. He animated the 360 turn around scene where Scar accuses adult Simba of murder in front of everyone at pride rock.

This movie left a big legacy. Disney’s best movie, their best dvd sequel, the worst love action remake, and most notorious Nintendo game.
Matthew Brodrick often gets some blow back for his acting in some movies, but I think he did a really good job as adult Simba in this movie. He was pretty good in the Tale of Desperaux too

When in reality years before this he killed two women by driving while on drugs, he was on the wrong side of the road for a long time, despite the fact he had been driving in that country before so he can't claim he forgot which side of the road to drive on, he was either on drugs or getting road head because he smashed head on into another car and killed two women then FLED the country from hospital where he was taken to avoid being tested for drugs.
Now that I think about it Timon and Pumba are the first same sex and diffrent race parents I saw in cartoon movie

Yeah, I recall when I first got an AD for The Lion King remake and when it showed Scar pacing along the edge of a cliff I was like "but they get a lion to behave like this" only to immediately recall the fact that it was CGI, only to just disappoint myself because Disney didn't do that enough apparently.
